Looking at the boy who appeared to be around her age, she was perplexed by his presence. Nerissa had been forewarned that a great evil were to conquer the castle, but everything seemed to be so… peaceful. Not even the heart vibrated or shook violently.
Pursing her lips, determination was apparent in her eyes. There was no use in hiding her identity, due to already being in her guardian get-up. Kneeling in front of the boy, she hoped that explaining the misunderstanding would excuse her rashness.
❝ My sincerest apologies, your majesty. I am a guardian. I was told that a great evil had attacked the castle, I must have been misinformed. It was not my intention to bring any harm or cause uneasiness. ❞

“A great... evil?” the young Phobos asked, not really sure what the Guardian was talking about. “I have heard stories of some kind of... darkness or fear spreading, but as far as I know, those are just myths. There’s nothing really... um... wrong around here.”
What he didn’t mention to Nerissa was that he was a bit afraid of his mother, but he didn’t think it was anything the rest of the kingdom had to worry about.
“What kind of evil did you hear about?”

Gee, you think?! was the telepathic sneer she responded with. I’m currently sitting in my bedroom with the very person who manipulated his younger sister and tried to kill us multiple times! What d’you want me to do?! Smile at ya real pretty?!
She knew what he was capable of, and she didn’t think he was being particularly funny. Though she’d long since forgiven Elyon for the stint she pulled way back when they first came into their powers and became the Guardians of the Veil, Taranee knew from experience what spending quality time with the Escanors, especially Phobos, amounted to.
Lost limbs or death.
Oh, I don’t really expect you to do much of anything. Besides, I’m getting kind of bored... Maybe I’ll go visit your other friends, Phobos replied, leaving it up to Taranee to decide if he was joking or not.
Either way, he was enjoying her reactions to him just existing.
Maybe they’ll appreciate my company a bit more. I’m sure they’d be delighted.

𝓘rma scowled when he mentioned if something happened to her friends. God for bid if he was hinting at something actually happening to them. She was getting more and more aggravated with his presence just feet from her. She took a few steps closer and grabbed hold of the cell bars and leaned back slightly before lunging forward, sending a wad of spit at him. “You disgust me. I hope you rot in hell where you belong!”
“I will give you one thing - I like your attitude. Maybe you’ll learn to be as evil as me one day,” Phobos said, though he made a disgusted face when she spat at him.
“And who knows? Maybe your friends are still here. Maybe they aren’t. It’s not my job to babysit them. Or you, for that matter. But it is certainly fun watching you get angry.”

His statement sent a chill down her spine. She knew they couldn’t of abandoned her in this dark and damp castle, but Prince Phobos was the only one that had been over here recently. What if he was right? What if they did leave her? Of course there was always the notion that they could come back with backup. But still, they had left her to do so. One would think that someone would have at least stayed behind to make sure nothing happened. “You’re lying! They would never leave me!” There was a short pause between her words. “… At least I hope you’re lying.” She murmered.
Phobos actually had no idea whether her friends had escaped or not - he wasn’t currently watching them - but frankly, he didn’t care. As long as they were separated from each other, that’s what mattered.
“Oh, you poor girl. Let’s hope for your sake that I’m lying. Oh dear, what if something terrible were to happen to them? What then?”

“Hm? I don’t recall saying anything about looking for anyone. Perhaps you misheard. Or I misspoke.”

@phobosofmeridian | starter call.
Being deemed as the guardian of the heart was both a pleasure and an honor. It had brought much needed excitement into Nerissa’s life, making her feel as if she were a part of something. Something important.
However, it wasn’t a dance on roses. The weight of the heart was heavy on her shoulders. There was always a cry or plea for help, no matter which dimension she went to. And she was never at rest. Her shoulders always tense, body always anticipating the next blow.
The sound of leaves rustling caused her to turn quickly, a delicate hand raised - a deceiving nature of someone that withheld more power inside her than expected.
❝ Show yourself, ❞ she demanded, sharply.
The young Phobos hadn’t actually sensed Nerissa’s presence and let out a gentle gasp upon seeing her and hearing her voice.
“....Who are you?” the boy asked, fidgeting slightly. “And... what are you doing at the castle? Mother doesn’t like strangers here--”
It was rather hard to believe that this timid child would one day grow up to be the most feared being in the universe, but for now, he didn’t have much power at all - except for a few abilities here and there that his mother didn’t like him using because he had a tendency to get into trouble.

𝓗e was right,. she wasn’t able to do it alone. And if she tried to do it by herself, she would surely be injured or even worse. “– Payback?” Irma repeated. “Please. This is merely child’s play what you have s in.” She scoffed and turned her head to the right. She would of probably spoke too soon, perhaps later on things would get worse, so if that was the case, then she would have to watch what she said. “Where’s my friends!” She demanded, turning her attention back to the Prince and his malicious schemes.
“Your friends? Oh, you mean the ones who abandoned you?” Phobos lied. He was going to have fun with this.
“I’ve already talked to them. It seems as though they’d rather be out of here than be stuck with you, water Guardian. So I took pity on them.”
Phobos would leave that up to her interpretation. It could mean he let them go, or it could mean he trapped them separately, or worse.

It was her bedroom instead of the guest room she initially had in mind. Damn. Taranee had to work on her telepathic skills. This place is my bedroom, and I really don’t care whether or not you’re older than me. She opened the door, closed it again, and sank down to the floor with a heavy sigh as if she was suffering just by being near him - which, she kind of was.
You seem awfully distressed by my mere presence. Though I can’t say a blame you, I’ve been known to take people’s breath away.
As in kill them.
He thought he was funny.
