I am begging the FDA to require that companies CANNOT just put "spices" as an ingredient but have to label the spices.

"Spices" can mean "this has some oregano and black pepper in it" or it can mean "this has cumin cayenne and paprika and if you eat this you will be sick in bed in pain for a week" for me.

Seriously, this is an allergy issue and a huge oversight on the part of corporations.

I believe the point is that gun ownership has gone from owning something as a hunting tool to explicitly owning a weapon for the purpose of killing people (stand your ground laws and the concept of home defense not as an incidental thing that becomes easier if you have a weapon but a reason to have one in the first place). A gun is also way easier to kill people with (particularly someone running away) than a knife. You need a license and liability insurance to own and operate a car legally, oftentimes a gun in the United States can either be acquired without a license or one can travel to another state in order to buy one without restriction. The other problem is that the person was 11 and did nothing but ring a doorbell, why can someone who would make the active decision to threaten someone over such a trivial matter? Not only that, but would actually pull the trigger. The NRA also opposes requiring people to lock their guns up to avoid, you know, children accessing deadly weapons as they have a distorted view of what a proportional response is, and similar to waiting periods, requires the person to actually think about their actions before accessing something that can very easily hurt someone.
