That was before they met Pierce, before Clementine came along, and before the end of their one-long-road-trip, and they were so full of hope that it's the one place she always wanted to go back to, especially when she's lost in swamps or fighting monsters in the dark somewhere Beatrice might never know if she dies there or not.

Gallo's home is his coffin in the crypt below Common Grounds, Sable liked sleeping in the bunk underneath him at Castle Gaunt, and they both miss those places most when they're around each other as adults.

In some ways, Gallo Belgrave already had one, because Sable was designed as his evil twin, but I do actually have a "mirror universe". Three of them actually! The mainline iteration we see in the current Pick-n-Mix Comix universe stories has three current, major offshoots, and a few potential ones: King Mytho, Inglenook Black, and Codex Duello.

This is relevant context.

King Mytho is an AU where Captain Mytho takes over Inglenook as king. The Veil is dissolved, the Legendeers are slaughtered, and everything changes as multiple realms are united and the landscape of the Other Realms is permanently altered according to King Mytho's wishes.

Inglenook Black is an alt-history where Inglenook loses the 'Lonum Wars. The Black Regard, an infectious "plasmic force" spreads from Carillon into Inglenook after 1972. As a result, the government goes into full authoritarian mode, and all characters are taken to their logical, ultimate extremes in a no-holds-barred world where those extremes can be explored without affecting the main continuity. (It's theoretically supposed to be "introduced" with a serial called Dr Connector: Black Fax, set in the 1990s, where the Dr Connector of the mainline continuity gets a "black fax" from the parallel dimension, thus giving rise to its name — Inglenook Black — and I only recently added in the Black Regard backstory to be able to tie things together more appropriately, but it just exists in general.)

Codex Duello is an alt-present where the Loremaster's pixie assistant, Codex, alters the terms laid down in the Code Duello to create a new storyline, the Codex Duello, in which the entirety of the Other Realms is based around the concept of dueling, as opposed to dueling just being a pastime as it is in the main continuity. Goes from urban fantasy with a sport to Pokemon and Yugioh very fast.

So, there's lots of mirror universes and evil counterparts, and some where the flaws of the main characters are taken to their extremes. In Inglenook Black, the Red-And-Gold — who, in mainline continuity, is a multitude of actors playing the mascot role, rather than one individual — is just one single person, who took over the role after the Black Regard. He has a sidekick, the Human Shield, who does what it says on the tin and mostly serves as an arm of this Inglenook's eternal martial law, protected from protestors and those infected by the black plasma by the Human Shield while they work together.

Meanwhile, in King Mytho, the Red-And-Gold has been replaced by the Green-And-Silver, abandoning the colors of the Kingdom itself due to King Mytho's rule and rallying against the monarchy as a rebellion en masse.

In one, the Red-And-Gold's status as a mascot figure is taken to its extreme. Rather than simply being a glorified corporate shill who has no real power, the Inglenook Black Red-And-Gold is the power of the monarchy, as they often use this one singular Red-And-Gold as an authoritarian stand-in for the actions of the Security Ministry. In another, the same character's status is turned on its head and used as a weapon against him, forcing him to abandon his values altogether and totally reinvent himself as a color-shifted opposite image to what the Kingdom of Inglenook has become under the rule of King Mytho.
