An attempt at packing together all my Susalock pictures and comics. by ăŻăă (hanezu)
This translation is a somewhat-belated gift for a good friend of mine. Happy birthday!!
(Also, please note that this log came out before the release of TGAA2, so there is one part where you will have to suspend a bit of disbelief, haha.)

Text: An attempt at packing together all my Susalock pictures and comics.

Text above is as follows:
They're already together, but they still haven't done anything yet. (physically)
This comic is about their first kiss.
The reason for the following conversation is because I love Shakespeare. I'm a literary girl, so I want to imagine they'd have a Romeo and Juliet-esque conversation.

Text above is as follows:
A story about Mr. Sholmes talking to John (Dr. Wilson) about his depression from Susato's return to her home country.
Mr. Sholmes is a bit mentally ill in this one, so watch out for that.

Text: Thank you very much!

If you enjoyed this, then make sure you go on over to the Pixiv link at the top and give the original artist's post some bookmarks and likes! After all, I only translated the images with text - there are several more images without it.
Thank you for reading!

Shipping Thoughts
I have very strong opinions about ships, and can (sometimes) back them up with arguments (sometimes I just like or donât like things for no particular reason), but ultimately, ships have a right to exist whether I or anyone else likes them or not. Itâs totally fine to not like a ship, but it seems really excessive to toss accusations of immorality at a ship or a person. I disagree with the notion that bad relationships should be censored out of existence, and their creators harassed, because theyâre bad. Maybe the creator is working through abuse theyâve experienced. Maybe theyâre trying to find an outlet for their intrusive thoughts. Maybe they had an idea that they just thought would make a good story.Â
However, while I mostly agree with the sentiment of âdonât harass people because of what they like or ship,â I do disagree with the notion that fiction has no effect on reality, or that people should always be expected and assumed to keep the two separate. This sentiment does a great disservice to the real-world power of fiction. Popular culture is what spreads ideas to the people, and if problematic relationships are normalized, then this bleeds into the real world - it can cause people who are being abused to assume theyâre fine, or cause people with bad thoughts or tendencies to think itâs okay to act on them.
So what am I advocating for, exactly? Well, tagging and content warnings - and in the absence of them, one certainly has every right to criticize and call out the creator. Let me explain.
I have a somewhat smaller range of what I think is problematic in a relationship than some - after all, what is and isnât unhealthy is often determined by how the relationship is portrayed. For example, I donât believe relationships with significant age differences, relationships with power differences, or even some incestuous relationships are inherently unhealthy - it is very dependent on how the relationship is written, structured, or drawn. Yes, some relationships with age differences have an older character grooming a younger one, or a younger one acting essentially as an uncaring gold digger. But itâs certainly not always the case. Yes, some relationships with power differences involve the person with power using it to manipulate the person without it, or even if they are unaware of the power they hold, its existence makes the person without power feel as if they are somehow trapped or restrained from being as open as theyâd like to be. But once again, if handled carefully, this is not always the case. You can find real-life examples of both of these situations, potentially even people you know.
And even with incestuous relationships, unless the actual relationship is abusive, I donât really see a moral argument against incest (beyond the fact that the vast majority of people are, uh, not going to be falling for their family members, whether adoptive or blood-related) unless the couple plans to have biological children, which can raise the risk of genetic diseases. My reason for disliking fandom ships with incest is less because of a notion of immorality, and much more because the world has enough problems with misinterpreting how and why people show affection without you trying to interpret *every* show of love among family members as romantic and sexual love. If itâs part of an original storyâs plot line? Not my favorite, but bearable. But I find fandom incest (again, adoptive or blood-related) unbearable due to what often feels like a deliberate erasure of the complexities of familial fondness.
So really, when I say âproblematic relationships,â what I mean is ârelationships that are abusive, manipulative, or otherwise unhealthyâ and ârelationships that inherently lack consentâ (i.e. non-con situations, minor-with-adult - unless the age difference is small and the relationship is non-sexual, and zoophilia/bestiality).
If, however, they are tagged as such, or otherwise described as such, then that serves as a warning - a full admission that the author knows this is problematic, but just needed or wanted to write it for whatever reason. Itâs the principle behind âdead dove, do not eat.â While you may dislike them - as I often do - relationships such as these are only deserving of moral criticism if they are not acknowledged as bad, and are thus normalized. But through rating systems, and content/trigger warnings, the author is taking time to acknowledge that these story elements arenât an ideal to bring into reality, and making sure that their unhealthiness is made known. There can be benefits to this, as well - for example, writing an abusive relationship and saying âyeah, this is abusiveâ can make it so real-world people realize theyâre being abused or taken advantage of when they hadnât before. This is why I actually wish all mediums had content warnings put in by the creators, as I think that would be immensely useful to everyone in the public sphere.
Basically, the way I see it, everybodyâs entitled to their opinions, likes, and dislikes, but donât go criticizing the inherent morality of a person creating content for a relationship unless you think you can back up why itâs bad in a way that the author did not show that they intended. (And going on the immediate attack, while emotionally satisfying, is never a good way to have an actual discussion.)
#pieces yells into the void#ship#shipping#content warnings#trigger warnings#pro ship#pro shipping#not really pro ship but since I do discuss it#considering how few of my ships are considered questionable by popular debate I'm surprisingly passionate about this but#people shouldn't be treated as bad people if they aren't#and I firmly believe that morality is determined by your actions#not your thoughts and desires

Ace Attorney LGBT Headcanons
Saw a couple of LGBT headcanon lists going around so I figured, why not, Iâll jump in, too! These are kinda long, in no real order, and there are definitely spoilers. (It also mentions some of my ships, just for fun.)
Miles Edgeworth, Jeffrey Master, and Herman Crab are, in my mind, the peak aroace squad. Jeff is romance-indifferent and sex-indifferent, Miles is romance-indifferent and sex-repulsed, Herman is romance-repulsed and sex-repulsed.
Gregory is bi and demisexual, and is very clueless about the fact that heâs bi for most of his life (until he falls for either Raymond or Badd in my no-DL-6 AUs). I think he thought he was solidly ace until he fell for the woman that would become his wife and was like âwhat is this FEELINGâ and subsequently noticed he only felt that way about people heâd already begun to love.
Raymond is bi with a definite preference for women (e.g. the lovely and wonderful Kate Hall), but his first love just happened to be his decidedly non-female boss, so hey, what can ya do? As opposed to the demi and ace folks above, in Rayâs older persona, heâs definitely a very sexual dude. But despite the many jokes made about his character (or concerns the fandom has), I doubt heâs going around looking for one-night stands all the time. A lot of it is all bluster. His younger self has much less bluster and much more dorkiness, even when he takes the lead in flirting.
Badd is one of the only dudes that Iâve decided is just gay - he hasnât been in a lot of relationships because he mostly had one-night-stands/largely sexual relationships when he was younger (he worried about emotionally opening up to anyone), and now that heâs older heâs full of self-doubt and afraid his job will hurt people close to him (unfortunately heâs kind of right) so he just pines romantically in tsundere silence most of the time until he can work up the courage (in Gregoryâs case) or is asked out (in Byrneâs case).
Byrne is bi, doesnât realize it until he realizes he thinks Badd is totally hot, and then 100% accepts liking dudes as part of his full identity in a fraction of a second - he is very direct and knows no fear when it comes to flirting.
Adrian Andrews is for sure a lesbian, but hasnât really been in any relationships at all - she does, however, tend to fall for people very easily and very hard, to the point of her own self-detriment (aka Celeste Inpax, Franziska initially before they work things out).
Franziska is like 99% a lesbian but has a canonical sexual interest in BDSM with male clowns (no, I couldnât believe it either) so Iâm gonna say sheâs homoromantic and very lightly bisexual - also I feel like she probably has not let herself have time for relationships (until she gets with Adrian).
Mia is bi because she hella dated Lana in college, but also clearly loved Diego/wasnât just dating him out of comphet (which Iâm guessing is the theory of people that hc Mia as a lesbian) - she and Lana broke up on good and friendly terms, but I think poor gay Lana still may have had some feelings for Mia on and off all the way up until she died.
On one glorious day in the shower I created the ship that is Lauriola - that is to say, the romance between Lauren Paups and Viola Cadaverini. Both of them dealt with crappy boyfriends - Tigre and Lance - and I like to think that when Lauren goes to get the loans sorted out from Tender Lender, she meets Viola and they start an unexpected friendship that ends with them both realizing they are hella bi. I will push this pairing until I die.
Klavier is bi because of course he is. He flirts with ladies. He flirts with Apollo. He literally has a song titled âMy Boyfriend is the Prosecutionâs Witness,â which I think might make him the only actual canon bi character - much like how Aura is the only canon lesbian (give us some more canon LGBT characters, Capcom, I beg). I havenât really decided whether Metis was born or a lesbian stuck in a loveless marriage (either way the fact that the Metis-Athena parallel suggests that the dad is named Zeus means that he probably wasnât a good guy), but either way she for sure falls for Aura.
Gumshoe is bi because he definitely adores Maggey (god I hope theyâre married by AA7), but I get the impression that in AA1, his fondness for Edgeworth was perhaps a little bit stronger than just respect. (I like to think that Badd realizes Gumshoe has feelings for him, and becomes the first person Gumshoe ever comes out to.) Also, we love a bi himbo.
Dhurke, like Gregory, is bi but does not know it because heâs clueless. By the same token, Datz is gay, but does not realize it because heâs also clueless. ...It takes a while for the two to start dating. (I love them dearly.)
After being convinced by a lot of cute art, Iâve been thinking that Juniper is bi and comes around to liking Athena (who was attempting to hide her crush on Juniper) after her crush on Apollo finally goes away - unclear if Athena is bi or a lesbian but either way she Do Like Girl
Once upon a time I tried to hc Godot and Katherine Hall as straight, but as my fic ideas went off the rails I ended up having an idea where Diego had a crush on Raymond growing up and another where Kate falls for a lady OC of mine, so I basically just gave up. (My bi energy leaks into my writing yet again.) Now I think the only person Iâm 100% sure is straight is Larry Butz because he canonically says he canât like men no matter how hard he tries. Also, I hc Phoenix as bi for no real reason other than that Iris is proof he likes girls, and with guys he just somehow gives off the VibeTM.
I donât have a lot of trans headcanons in AA, but Iâm also not opposed to any unless I have reason to believe a person in their life wouldnât have respected their pronouns (e.g. donât think Sebastian could be a trans guy because Blaise is a piece of shit and would have kept misgendering him), or I just think itâs a bit more interesting if theyâre cis (e.g. young Raymond having had a chip on his shoulder about looking rather young and cute and not âmanlyâ can absolutely work if heâs a trans guy, but I think he may bear the weight of not living up to it more if heâs cis - kinda how I feel about Sakura being cis rather than trans in Danganronpa). I am, however, immensely fond of trans girl Robin Newman and he/they non-binary Nahyuta - and through a rather detailed made-up character backstory, I also like to think Calisto Yew/Shih-na is agender. Also, it started as a rather bizarre inside joke about her secretly being Dane Gustaviaâs child (before we finished AAI2), but my friend and I are still firm in our belief in trans lady Lotta Hart. (We also believe that when she and Larry eventually begin dating, Larry is the pinnacle of âextremely heterosexual but also not even a single ounce transphobicâ and by god it is beautiful.) This is a more recent addition, but Datz has âany pronounsâ energy - I can just feel it in my bones.
Similar to the above, I donât really have any strict headcanons of anyone being ace but not aro, but I also donât really mind any that are because most of them could easily be believable. (Really, the only characters I for sure donât imagine are ace are, uh, the ones I may be writing some questionable fanfic about...)
Beyond that, anyone I didnât mention here, I probably just havenât thought much about yet in a romantic preference/gender sort of sense. They could be anything, yo. If you have any headcanons of your own, Iâd love to hear them!
