Skin and Bones

This is a sculpture I made for an intro 3D design course last semester, so it's a bit outdated, but I wanted to share anyway! Skin and Bones is a moderately sized sculpture made out of basket reed and tracing paper. This was the first of several sculptures of that class, and with my inexperience with working in 3D space I encountered some struggles with this sculpture, particularly with the design aspect, but as I worked through it and got further along in the project I became more confident in the process. I took inspiration from the movement of water and the wings of flying fish.

About Me!

Hiya!

My name's Ian and I'm a 20 year old college student (almost 21 :3). You can refer to me however you like but I'm most comfortable with neutral terms :>

I've used tumblr off and on for the last seven years but I'm finally trying to actually stick with it >:3

A bit about me and what you might find me posting on here besides reposts...:

-Pics of my kitties! I have five at home although I rarely see them now because of school so I miss them a lot :(

-My artwork! I'm an art ed student so I'm taking all sorts of art classes and I think it would be cool to document my work here! (I tried to on facebook for my family and I just couldn't be bothered i hate that platform so much) Right now it's primarily drawings (and I've got a couple sculptures under my belt), but in the future there'll be some painting, hopefully some ceramics, and I'm really hoping some basic jewelry and metalsmithing! (I'm sooo excited for that class I love the teacher). But for now just expect some drawings from me :3

-my other crafts! I mainly do crochet (when I have time *tears*) but when I get an itch to do something other than crochet I've been known to do things like cross-stitch, very basic macrame, and the newest addition: needle felting! With school and everything I may not post as much about this kind of stuff :(

-My bear collection! I have an antique bear collection that I currently have to hold back on expanding (darned college dorm with no space) I have quite a few interesting antique bears that I love to death! I have a couple Mohair bears I was gifted a couple years ago and two vintage JC Penny bears! Next time I've got all of them out I will do a post about them all! (Hopefully)

-Idk,,, I guess just random pics or updates about my life? I've been trying to drag myself out of the hole of social media on my phone and I'm hoping posting on here (and not using my phone for tumblr) will be a good outlet to help me move away from that addiction! We'll see!
