A part of me wanted Loid to go absolutely bonkers over the fact that Anya was a part of the hijacking incident and just tear the school board apart 😭😭 I hope next chapter we get to see more of a reaction out of him

That latest chapter?? LITERAL CHILLS!!! It was honestly such a revolutionary chapter like we got so much. There was angst, comedy, fluff, Damianya bickering, familial love, and a dive into Damian’s backstory!! The way that it’s a canonical, Endo-approved, objective, legit, valid, for real fact that they’re friends now is just so nice. Like yes! Character development!!! There it is all shiny and framed! I can’t wait to see how this changes their interactions at school. I feel as though now Damian and Anya may start being more real with each other? They may start confiding in each other about things they can’t with others, or at least Damian lol (I have a feeling that Emile and Ewen may not know so much about Damian’s personal life either). I actually cannot type my feelings into words it’s times like this i wish i were more eloquent oadijsfpijasd;ij

The way Zen plays the "older brother" role in literally every route (besides his own obviously) has to be one of my favorite aspects of mm. The way he unconditionally loves all the RFA members and would do anything for them is just so endearing! Whenever he's about to start comforting someone he always always starts off with "hey..." It's something small yet so touching. The way he sees people as people, not their title (cue all those arguments with Jumin) speaks for itself! And even in another story the way he always comforts Yoosung just soothes my soul. I sleep peacefully at night knowing this man exists

It’s honestly very interesting seeing the differences in shoujo manga paneling over the years. Even though the older ones were definitely more compact, they still evoke feelings of youthfulness I feel modern shoujo don’t fully convey
#no hate to modern shoujo I adore it#I prefer it even#it’s just the two have different moods associated with them#all bc of the many side comments#and exaggerated expressions older shoujos paraded#shoujo#manga#shoujo manga#shojo

I absolutely adore the way Kishimoto does manga paneling. It’s very simple and easy to follow, letting the illustrations themselves tell the story. Paneling typically goes hand-in-hand with storytelling, and Kishimoto definitely knows how to utilize this synergy.

As much as I love Jumin and V's friendship I can't help but feel like something's off about it..? The two only ever reminisce on their past and it feels more like a friendship that's held together only by nostalgia and baseless trust (considering V keeps everything to himself). Especially in another story's common route, they only ever talk about their past. I haven't played the game in a while so I may have forgotten any development that occurred.

Look back?? I need to look back and reread that masterpiece. Yeah, it's 145 pages but it sure didn't feel like it. I really love how Fujimoto used a single manga panel to link what could've been vs the sad reality. And I LOVE how he used the subtle differences in the background art to help with characterization it's all just chef's kiss

ONE is such an incredible mangaka like none of his works EVER miss. I finished Makai no Ossan ("Old Man of the Underworld") today and even then his characterization was on point. I love how even the characters who are purely for comic relief have their own arcs and still have realistic struggles.
Minor spoilers up ahead:
This one character, Yuuji, is mainly used for comic relief as he's this thirty year old guy who still lives with his parents. Even he gets his own arc where he reveals his struggles and it just hit so hard

The shading??? The dialogue?? Compare this scene to another one with the same character:

ONE knows how to balance seriousness and comedy like no wonder all of his works are so refreshing
#please show makai no ossan some love#its so refreshing#all of the characters are so unique and its just#chefs kiss#makai no ossan#one#manga rec#old man of the underworld#opm#mp100

In every new chapter, there's always comments that bash Isagi. It's usually the same complaints too: "He isn't doing enough." "I really wanted a bad*ss MC but here we are." He has quite a bad rap, but I honestly don't think he's all that bad. In fact, not even a little.
For starters, Isagi's weapon is much more abstract compared to everyone else's so of course he isn't going to have as many stellar plays. He needs to first analyze the situation and then construct a plan to act on it. He's only started getting used to the flow and hasn't worked on it enough to reflexively act on impulse and devise a plan from that. I guess you could say that Rin's weapon is also spatial awareness, but there's also a great difference in physical ability. In my opinion, watching him grow and polish his weapon (and having a harder time doing so in contrast to everyone else) is part of the fun.
Not only that but they hinted at the fact that the tide will turn once Isagi figures out how to overcome Oliver's defense. So, obviously, once that happens, Isagi will go into the spotlight once again. He's a pretty smart character considering he has been the root of all the plays in the second selection (after he figured out his formula). The answer may even lie with the flow since it was introduced so late into the manga. Isagi isn't the best physically, but he has the capability to potentially surpass the other team in terms of his weapon, just like how he has been growing since the second selection.
But for now, let's just sit back and watch the other characters get their development. Let's watch them each fight their own individual battles, since, in the end, that's what this entire U-20 match is all about. Rin overcoming Sae and fighting for himself, Reo recognizing and implementing his weapon into battle without Nagi's aid, and so on so forth.

I actually love Jumin’s theme so much. It’s so soothing and perfectly encapsulates his character. It’s classy yet still melancholic, luxurious yet isolated. I feel as though I’ve been transported to the top of a rich hotel, staring out to the bustling city below as I sip some hot chocolate. It’s as though my worries have been put on pause just so I could observe everyone around me and take a deep breath. Goodness I’m playing his route right now and this theme just makes wanna replay it.

True Beauty Drama Rambles
Watching the True Beauty drama flooded me with memories and emotions I haven’t felt in a while. I’ve been reading the webtoon for quite some time now (it’s been two years already?) and seeing it gain all this attraction warms my heart. I’m caught up to the webtoon and although I’m not necessarily pleased with the route it’s taking, I felt a certain amount of pride just watching our three favorites walk on screen.
Watching Cha Eunwoo and Moon Ga-young act as their fictional counterparts reminded me of when I’d sit fangirling over Suho and Jugyeong holding hands, just waiting for them to realize their burning love for each other. Or whenever Hwang In-yeop would make his entrance on screen I’d remember how I slowly began to understand and almost resonate with Seojun’s character as he began unveiling more and more of himself to the readers. This drama reminded me of just how much I love this universe and I genuinely don’t think anything will change that.
The kdrama is very loosely based off of the webtoon but it’s still extremely fun to watch. They changed the characters and the storyline quite a bit (like how Sujin is now one of the top students) but it’s still exciting to see how the story will unravel as time moves on.

Well guys Fugou Keiji has officially ended. As Daisuke and Haru reenacted the scene from the first episode, my laughs quickly transitioned to tears as Daisuke wrote his last check. I’ve been following this anime since the week it aired, so it’s only natural for me to feel empty now that it has ended. It helped me through the pandemic, giving me something to think about in these troubling times. It functioned as an escape from this grim reality as I was able to theorize about these fictional characters and their irrational adventures. This anime truly has a special place in my heart. It may seem cringy or weird how I’m crying over a show, but this anime is more than just any anime.
Thank you Fugou Keiji for giving me something to look forward to every week. Thank you Fugou Keiji for blessing me with the adventures of Daisuke and Haru every week. Thank you Fugou Keiji for giving me my weekly dose of serotonin. To the production team, thank you so much for bringing the story of Daisuke and Haru to us viewers.
