i’ve smoked dozens of bowls,

the flame from the lighter so close to my nose

i could almost feel myself on fire.

there have been even more joints smoked in the same manner.

cigarettes, too.

i’ve drank bottle after bottle,

savoring the warm feeling in my face

and the burn going down my throat.

i’ve ran until my face gets hot

and im gasping for air.

i’ve indulged in countless acts of debauchery —

as well as various hobbies.

hobbies that make me burn with passion

and my heart pound in my chest.

and yes none of it, even combined,

could never compare to the warmth i feel when i am with you.

the passion i feel for you,

the way you make my heart pound in my chest,

or the ways i want you to make me gasp for air.
