Ok so I'm worse at this than I thought
...and it's not like I set the bar all that high.
I did get two things done though, I cleaned my bathroom with DIY cleaners and re-did the floor using peel and stick tiles from home depot. So I'm going to be making two different posts on those projects. TONIGHT.

RATA-TAT-TATOUILLE
SO this is a recipe I pinned a few weeks ago. I've been meaning to get around to it and since it's a blah and snowy lazy day (I may still be wearing my pajamas from this morning) I wanted make something healthy for once.
Here is the recipe I used but I'm gunna break it down for ya. This is so easy you can make it tipsy while enjoying a glass of wine like the classy mother fucking adult you are. Bonus points because it's vegetarian!
Step one is to gather your spices and veggybles. Then realize you're two tomatoes short and have to sub in your delicious salad tomatos which is sad, but it's for a worthy cause so carry on. Then you wanna prepare the eggplant because they're pretentious mother effers who need a little help to be tasty (Protip: I usually buy Sicilian eggplants if I can find them because they are so AWESOME and never bitter).
While your eggplant is crying chop up the the rest of the vegetables and then your onion so that you can cry with it. Add the garlic, bay leaf, and onion to the pan to soften. Then rinse and karate chop up the eggplant and toss that bugger in there.
Panic because you realize your skillet is too small for the rest of your veggies, so now you have to lug out your ginormous sauce pot and dump the rest of your veggies in there. Then realize the eggplant cooks down quite a bit and be mad about dirtying up another pot. Throw everything together, add the basil, salt, and peppa; and when the veggies are all soft and delicious you're done! Pat yourself on the back, pour another glass of wine, and feast.
Woooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Goddamnit
... I mean hello and welcome
Well it seems that it's somehow already a week into February and I'm already behind on my New Year's Resolution to actually do my pinterest projects. Let's pretend to be surprised shall we?
I guess introductions are in order then.
I'm Steph, I have an unhealthy addiction to the internet coupled with a love for DIY (that never seems to actually happen). I'm making this blog because I really want to make these projects, but I need to be held accountable for actually doing them otherwise they live in my head while the supplies take up space in my closet.
So here I am, taking on the expansiveness of my ambitions and recording my adventures along the way for laughs science.
Projects on the horizon:
deep clean the apartment with home made cleaners
covert my (yard sale find) surveyor's tripod into a lamp
fireplace mantel artwork and knicky-knackys
herb garden
try new recipes using acorn squash and eggplant
Overall goals for the year:
learn to sew
save money
bathroom make over
build a sliding pantry between wall and fridge
come up with a storage system for make up and jewelry
settle on a style direction for the bedroom
#oh geez this is like my fifth attempt to hunker down a get it done#but yeah here we go#welcome to my life#meet the blogger#new blog#diy#pinterest
