My stance is that if you're a young and/or beginner fantasy writer, you need to stay far away from online fantasy discourse because it will get you obsessing over shit that does not actually matter to anyone other than online nitpickers.

If someone can't read one of the foundational works of fantasy about the importance of seemingly insignificant persons because the map has unrealistic geography, that's actually a them problem. You don't need to research geography, agriculture, economics, or any other logistics so that everything is realistic, you need to tell a story.

for the longest time, i had a very vague memory of this cartoon. like so vague i only remembered it being about a girl with a white helmet that flew around in a spaceship trying to get back home. it was one of my first memories of watching tv, but i could never remember what it was. so, one day in 2017, i decided to finally solve the mystery and googled for over an hour, eventually finding a message board for old animated shows where someone had the same vague memory as me and had their question abt it answered, and that was how i discovered this show. it was a french series that aired on nickelodeon in the late 80s. all my searching in the past had brought up nothing bc the girl in the helmet was a side character and the guy on the right was the main character (who i didn't remember at all). anyway ... cool to stumble upon art for this old show all these years later.

anyone else has vague memories of the 80s animated series les mondes engloutis / spartakus and the sun beneath the sea with the catchiest intro and a unique world building

i find a strange comfort in sunny even though i probably shouldnt, but their weird bond with one another makes me so emotional its like yeah theyre all outcasts but theyre outcasts together yk

also i was rewatching moral orel i swear i cant watch this show without thinking about mac in orels place

Somehow I ended up drinking full strength coffee yesterday by accident. It was an old K-Cup left over that I must have accidentally grabbed instead of the decaf one. I haven't had full strength coffee in half a year. I quit because it was making me feel crazy and I went to half caff and decaf but somehow drank it yesterday without even noticing. Not until I opened up the Keurig this morning and saw the full strength coffee pod in there still. I only drank half the cup so maybe that's why it didn't make me feel insane? But I did notice that I managed to write for an hour yesterday when I hadn't intended to do that. So maybe that was the change. I had an inspiration I thought was fully from me but really was just caffeine lol

Honestly, the Murderbot series has been kind of a mixed bag for me. I liked it but didn't love it. Not as much as the books anyway. I felt the humor was kind of forced at times, but those last two episodes I really did love and they broke my heart just a little.
