waves!! i have a modern au in the works, and am quite happy with the names i've given everyone.

elves are welsh; tauriel and legolas are tegan and llywelyn. gimli is scottish and i named him gillespie.

the durins are danish. thorin, dis, dis' husband (vili), and frerin are thorsten, edith, vilhelm, and frej. fili and kili are filip and kirstine (fem!kili). bilbo is english and i named him booker (though i might change it...).

the 'ris are romanian. dori, nori, and ori are dorin, nicolae, and aurelia (fem!ori as well).

slowly collecting human versions of the company's names from modern/human au fanfiction so far we have William 'Bilbo' Baggins, Philip 'Fili' and Killian 'Kili' Durin absolutely inspired keep up the good work writers

head in my hands. working on a companion fic to nesting and digging that's gonna be fili/ori, and i already know it's gonna be so much longer. fili's POV alone is 6.2k, and if i want ori's to be about the same, the fic is gonna be like 12.5k

how does this keep HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (dramatic) my fics just get LONGER by ACCIDENT

lies down. calling the first chapter of my AU rewrite done at a nice 4.3k. currently have uuuuh 0 idea when it'll be ready to post (i wanna have a backlog of chapters before i start posting), or know how long it'll be (probably long), but i'm happy with it!!

also almost finished with a bagginshield soulmate AU oneshot (was supposed to be short) (is approaching on the road to 8k) (how does this keep happening to me), which coooould be done in the next couple of days? we'll see! but it's likely!

silly idea that came to me today as i was listening to pink pony club and remembered there's a tavern in bree called the prancing pony. modern AU thilbo. thorin is on his way to a gathering with friends- bachelor/bachelorette party? bar night? idk- and gets lost. because of course he does. all he remembers about the venue is that it has pony in the name, so instead of going to the prancing pony bar, he ends up in the pink pony, which is either a male strip club or just a gay bar. either way, bilbo works there.

thorin, unsure if this is seriously where he's supposed to be, hides in a corner for an hour before getting a text like "dude where tf are you", and leaves. idk maybe bilbo tries to serve him, or is dancing and catches thorin's eye. thorin keeps thinking about bilbo and keeps going back to see him, eventually asks him on a real date.
