Short'n'Sweet Sims 4 Legacy Challenge

I decided after making the Emails I Can't Send legacy that I would make a Short'n'Sweet Legacy too! So here we go!

This is very relationship based because of the album itself but it has some drama for fun!

General legacy rules:

1. Regular legacy challenge starts with 1800 simoleons or 0 if you want a bigger challenge. However, you can use money cheats for your first lot/house if you wish.

2. Mods are allowed. Use CC, use cheats, use MC command center, use whatever your heart desires.

3. Follow the rules in each generation. *rules are optional additional rules that are up to you to decide if you wanna complete them.

4. I have a brief storyline/background for each generation but feel free to make up your own or adjust to fit your gameplay.

5. If you want to play as an occult for any generation go ahead! I won't be making any of them occult so you have the freedom for that.

6. Keep the same last name throughout all generations.

7. Feel free to move lots for the start of each generation but don't move during a generation. If you do this, roll a number between 1000 and 7000 for the money you can take with you.

Gen 1: Please Please Please

As a young adult, you meet the bad boy/girl from your high school again. After a small polite catch up, they ask you on a date. They swear to you their ways have changed and you decide to give them a chance. They would treat you to expensive seeming dates and gifts throughout your time dating them and it seemed to work out between you two so you decide to move in together. It was then you realise their ways never changed because you discover they're a criminal! All the money they spent on gifts for you and the dates was dirty money! You had fallen in love so you confronted them about it but merely begged please please please so they would keep you out of it forever.

Colour: Green

Traits: Family Orientated, Loyal, Perfectionist

Aspiration: Successful Lineage

Career: Retail Employee & Stay at home mum

Rules:

1. Complete the Successful Lineage aspiration

2. Complete the Retail Employee career

3. Don't leave your partner

4. Have at least one child

5. *Get married right after moving in together

Gen 2: Taste

Growing up in a household where secrets were kept was not the nicest thing to experience. The older you got the more you heard and the more you found out. It turned out though that you took after your criminal parent more than the other. While you weren't a criminal yourself, you definitely had that bad boy/girl era in high school and you always left quite the impression. You never lacked confidence though and everyone loved that about you. You had a long term relationship late teenhood to your young adult years, having a child early on but they decided leave you when they found out you were pregnant and went back to their ex! Anyone else would let that hit their confidence but not you!

Colour: Royal Blue or Navy

Traits: Self-Assured, Materialistic, Outgoing

Aspiration: Chief of Mischief

Career: Culinary - Mixology Branch

Rules:

1. Complete the Chief of Mischief aspiration

2. Complete the mixology branch of the culinary career

3. Have at least one child

4. Have your partner leave you before you give birth

Gen 3: Bed Chem

As you grew up not really knowing your other parent, you didn't really think a full happy family could exist. At least not long term anyway. You had a string of flings throughout your teen years and into your young adult years too, one even resulted in a pregnancy! But one day you laid eyes on someone so unbelievably perfect. You met and the next thing you know you're like hooked!

Colour: Light/Pastel Pink

Traits: Romantic, Good, Cheerful

Aspiration: Serial Romantic

Career: Social Media

Rules:

1. Complete the Serial Romantic aspiration before you find your true love

2. Complete the social media career

3. Have one child from a fling or one night stand then have another with your true love

4. The child of the fling/one night stand must be the fourth gen heir

Gen 4: Couldn't Make it Any Harder

You were the product of a fling or a one night stand and you barely had any relationship with your other parent. Even though your step parent was as good as the real thing to you, you felt like love wasn't really for you, like it wasn't made for you. Anytime you tried, it was like you couldn't make it any harder for the person to love you.

Colour: Monochrome (white, black, grey)

Traits: Noncommittal, Cat Lover, Gloomy

Aspiration: Friend of the Animals

Career: Fast Food Employee & Has lots of animals

Rules:

1. Complete the Friend of the Animals aspiration

Gen 5: Bad Reviews

Despite growing up to a single parent who was never able to find love, you had the determination to find true love of your own. Throughout life you dated a few people but never found THE one. Until one day, you met someone. It was someone you knew, a family friend maybe and they weren't exactly the most impressive person to most. Everyone would tell you bad reviews about them, friends even called you crazy for liking them but you didn't listen. No matter what, the two of you loved each other for who you were.

Colour: Orange

Traits: Ambitious, Romantic, Loyal

Aspiration: Soulmate

Career: Politician

Gen 6: Dumb & Poetic

You were surrounded by so much meaningful honest love as a child and as you grew up it was impossible not to believe you couldn't have that for yourself one day but...you weren't exactly the best with people. You were shy, a little nerdy and even fell for people too easily. You'd been rejected a few times as a teenager then as a young adult, you met someone who seemed different. At first you were friends but of course you fell for their bookworm aesthetic too fast, like always! Anything they said you agreed with, anything they did you wanted to do too. But truthfully, that person just had some good star level manipulation.

Colour: Purple

Traits: Bookworm, Socially Awkward, Neat

Aspiration: Nerd Brain

Career: Writer OR Freelance - Writer Branch

Rules:

2. Complete the writer or freelance writer career

Gen 7: Lie To Girls

Even though your parents never got divorced, as a teen you saw right through their relationship. You saw the manipulation and how willing one was to agree with the other, do whatever they wanted. You realised as you saw it often outside of your home too that no one really had to lie to girls, if they liked you they'd just lie to themselves. Somehow, you fell for that trap yourself.

Colour: Dark Pink

Traits: Bro, Clumsy, Overachiever

Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy

Career: Critic - Either Branch

Rules:

3. Fall in love more quickly and easily than you expected

Gen 8: Coincidence

You knew the world wasn't the best place to find love these days but you had hope. As a young adult, you ran into someone from your high school science class. They seemed really sweet and caring, you two got together often then started dating. After a short while of that, you took the plunge and got married! But you started to notice them distance themselves. They were always on their phone and making excuses for where they were or had been or why they were late home. That's when you tracked their phone one day and oh! Your car just happened to drive itself from our home to her thighs huh? You weren't going to put up with that so you divorced them.

Colour: Yellow

Traits: Active, Hot-Headed, Loves Outdoors

Aspiration: Super Parent

Career: Gardener

Gen 9: Busy Woman

Growing up in a split parent household was tough. One day it was all sunshine and rainbows and the next it was darkness and clouds. You tried your whole life not to let it bother you, always trying to be mature, collected and sensible since you had to grow up a little faster than others. You still had a good relationship with both parents however, you always had something to do, you were always so busy. Too busy to actively find love of your own. Relationships would come and go, you were always open to love but you wanted to be treated right first. If they didn't, you don't want their little bitch ass anyway.

Colour: Red

Traits: Neat, Dog Lover, Genius

Aspiration: Renaissance Sim

Career: Business

Rules:

3. Have at least four short term relationships

4. Only settle down (if you want to) as an adult whose nearly an elder

Gen 10: Good Graces

Having a parent like you did meant you were raised to know how you should be treated and not be treated. You knew your self worth and only wanted someone who could see that too. You were ready to love, to be sweet and to draw hearts around their name with yours, but you made sure people never mistake your nice for naïve.

Colour: Pastel/Light Blue

Traits: Self-Assured, Art Lover, Creative

Aspiration: Painter Extraordinaire

Career: Freelance - Digital Artist Branch

Rules:

"Emails I Can't Send" Sims 4 Legacy Challenge

Did I decide to make a Sims 4 legacy challenge based on Sabrina Carpenter's latest album "Emails I Can't Send"? Yes I did!

The album is very love and break up based in my opinion however I still thought it could be pretty fun to try and turn that into a legacy challenge. I've decided in this to cut a couple songs from the main album to use a couple from the deluxe album "Emails I Can't Send fwd:" since those gave me more ideas.

I have made some general legacy challenge rules however I am not going to dictate your gameplay so if you do something different such as a different career or trait then go for it!

Gen 1: Vicious

As a teen you had a relationship and your partner seemed almost perfect, as did the relationship. That was until you found out that they were jumping between you and another. Finally realising this, as a young adult you cut all ties with them and tried to move on with your life, first healing yourself before wanting to help others heal.

Main colour: Red

Traits: Hot Headed, Geek, Good

Aspiration: Inner Peace (move onto Zen Guru if you finish the first)

Career: Yoga or Meditation Instructor (choose a part time job as well if you want to)

Rules:

Gen 2: Read Your Mind

As a child your parent(s) always brought you up to believe in inner peace and that everything was hard but you could make it easy. However, you decided you wanted to live in reality. As soon as you aged up into a young adult you moved out and started to navigate the harsh world on your own.

Traits: Adventurous, Gloomy, Overachiever

Aspiration: Renaissance Sim

Career: Business

Rules:

4. Adopt at least one child no younger than a toddler

Gen 3: Tornado Warnings

Growing up, your parent(s) didn't really have an awlful lot of time for you. They were very career and business focused but never parenting focused. You caused a lot of trouble as a kid in attempt to get their attention but it didn't work. As a young adult you find yourself a partner who isn't the best influence on you but you're both in love. You both always ignore those tornado warnings.

Main colour: Purple

Traits: Goofball, Jealous, Party Animal

Aspiration: Chief of Mischief

Career: Retail Employee

Gen 4: Because I Liked a Boy

Growing up with parents who cares more about fun than grades and behaviour, you developed a keen eye for theiving. Especially from your second parent. You never really wanted to work or settle down either, life was just a lot of fun for you.

Traits: Kleptomaniac, Ambitious, Self-assured

Aspiration: Public Enemy

Career: Criminal

Rules:

1. Complete the Public Enemy aspiration

2. Max the Criminal career

3. Max the fitness and mischief skills

Gen 5: Already Over

As a teen you have a partner who is no good for you and you know it however, you can't get your mind off them. After high school you decide to end things because you want to be a better person, especially better than your parent and they weren't making that any easier. For a while you go no contact until one day they pop back up into your life and you can't help it, they're already over right?

Main colour: Orange

Traits: Art Lover, Romantic, Ambitious

Rules:

Gen 6: Nonesense

Seeing your parent get back together with their one true love, their highschool sweetheart, made you want to find that kind of love. You have troubles along the way as you see the best in everyone even if they aren't that good. You do find your true love and live happily ever after.

Traits: Romantic, Neat, Cheerful

Aspiration: Serial Romantic

Career: Social Media

Rules:

Gen 7: Skinny Dipping

Seeing what your parents went through to get together and being so happy made you excited to find love of your own. However, the one you thought was the one ended up having you swimming in the edge of cliff. Arguments and expectations, you want it to just be water under the bridge so you can find happiness.

Main colour: Blue

Traits: Active, Loves Outdoors, Music Lover

Aspiration: Soulmate

Career: Writer

Rules:

1. Complete the Soulmate aspiration

2. Max the Writer career

3. Max the writing and singing skills

4. Make sure your soulmate isn't the original partner (from the storyline)

Gen 8: Decode

You thought you'd end up having a big happy family in life. That was all you wanted. Your partner was very indecisive about having children with you so eventually instead of letting their confusion keep you up at night you decided there was nothing left to decode and ended the relationship. On your life's journey you found you didn't need a romantic partner to have a family.

Main colour: Monochrome (black/grey/white)

Traits: Family Oriented, Childish, Foodie

Aspiration: Big Happy Family

Career: Culinary (Cook branch)

Rules:

1. Complete the Big Happy Family aspiration

2. Max the Culinary (cook branch) career

3. Max the cooking and gourmet cooking skills

4. Have a minimum of four children with at least two different sims

5. *Find love in the end and settle down

Gen 9: Feather

Your life was laid out on a platter. Your parent(s) had a career in mind for you and even a partner but that wasn't what you wanted. You wanted to decide for yourself. Besides, that potential partner wasn't all that nice to you anyway. So you slammed the door on your way out to start your own life.

Main colour: Green

Traits: Music Lover, Genius, Clumsy

Aspiration: Musical Genius

Career: Entertainer (music branch)

Rules:

1. Complete the Musical Genius aspiration

2. Max the Entertainer (music branch) career

3. Max the singing, guitar and piano skills

4. Find love after your career is stable

Gen 10: Opposite

This was it, you thought you'd found the one! Except when your wedding day rolled around they said "I don't" instead. Your heart shattered but to make it worse, only days later your saw them with another that was the polar opposite of you. That destroyed your heart. For good.

Aspiration: Villainous Valentine

Career: Critic (either branch)

This is a legacy challenge about the seven deadly sins. As described in Roman Catholic theology, the seven deadly sins are vices that spur other sins and further immoral behaviour. These seven sins are originally derived from the eight cardinal sins as written down by a Christian monk named Evagrius Ponticus in the 4th century. He described these sins as the ‘eight evil thoughts’: gluttony, lust, greed, anger, sloth, sadness, vainglory, and pride. In the 6th century Pope Gregorius I analyzed these eight evil thoughts and changed them into the seven deadly sins: pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth. If someone wishes to overcome these sins, then use must be made of the seven corresponding virtues: humility, charity, chastity, gratitude, temperance, patience, and diligence.

I always loved the idea of a sims 4 legacy challenge based around the seven deadly sins. I like playing with sims that are not ‘perfect’ and have their flaws because it resembles reality. There are already some legacy challenges out there based around the idea of the seven deadly sins, but in these challenges I have seen so far I missed the opportunity for each generation to learn from their sins or to better their life in a way. Since there are only seven sins, this legacy will have seven generations instead of the common ten generations. However, you can expand this legacy to ten generations by combining the idea of the eigth evil thoughts and the seven deadly sins which I will explain later in this post. In the end writing this challenge took me way longer than I expected and the post also turned out to be quite long (sorry for that ;)), but I really like how this challenge turned out and I hope you will enjoy it too.

Basic rules:

No toddler that will be the next heir is allowed to have the angelic trait but siblings of the heir are allowed to have it.

If your last gen is the 7th gen, the baby this gen will have will age up with the angelic trait when becoming a toddler. If you play up to the 10th generation, the baby of gen 9 will get the angelic trait when aging up into a toddler (this way gen 10 will have the angelic trait).

For each gen you can decide for yourself how many children the gen will have unless it is stated in the rules of the gen.

You may live wherever you please unless stated otherwise in the generation.

You are allowed to play this challenge with the lifespan you prefer (the normal or long lifespan is recommended).

Money cheats are allowed for the first gen to buy a lot or a house, try not to cheat any money during the rest of the challenge.

For every generation you must complete the aspiration and get to the top of the career unless stated otherwise.

If there is a career, aspiration or trait you can not assign to your sim because you don’t have certain DLC’s, you can choose another career, aspiration or trait you think is right for the gen that you are currently playing.

Generation 1: Ira (Wrath)

As a baby you were abandoned in front of an orphanage. Without parents or a good upbringing you had to rely on your own from a very young age. With a lack of adequate regulation and supervision you soon noticed that being aggressive towards others was the best way to defend yourself in the orphanage. If there is one thing you have learned from when you were a child is that the best way to stand up for yourself often requires a literal fight. You are looking for a place to live on your own now that you have reached young adulthood. Because you can’t easily get a regular job you are forced to take a different path. You feel like the entire world is against you so you don’t see a reason to treat the world any different. At this point you are so fed up with your life that you don’t care anymore in which way you will make your money.

Traits: hot-headed, hates children, self-assured

Aspiration: Public Enemy

Career: Criminal (Boss Branch)

Rules:

Master the Criminal Boss career and complete the Public Enemy aspriation

Master the mischief skill

Get in a relationship with someone to carry on the lineage but let them break up with you after you get a baby because you keep being mean and angry to them

When your child is in the toddler lifestage you get angry or mean whenever your toddler does something bad. When the toddler reaches the child lifestage you realise that the only person you care about constantly gets hurt when you act this way and it leads you to the decision to never react angry or mean to your child anymore

Max the friendship bar with your child

Later in your adult life you meet the other parent of your child again. Because they notice that you have changed you start dating again and eventually get married

Generation 2: Luxuria (Lust)

Even though your toddler years were not the most fun, you felt like you grew up in a loving household. Seeing your parent being alone for most of their life makes you realise that you don’t want this for yourself. As a child you easily make friends and you love to hang out with others. When you become a teen you notice that you start developing feelings for some of your classmates which result in some relationships. You always like to get a lot of attention and feel like the entertainer career is the right decision for you. You also really like being in a relationship, but you never feel completely satisfied which leads you to jump from one to another relationship or even have multiple relationships at once.

Traits: romantic, noncommittal, outgoing

Aspiration: Serial Romantic

Career: Entertainer (either Branch)

Rules:

Master the Serial Romantic aspiration and complete the Entertainer career

Master the charisma skill

One night after one of your performances you bump into one of your exes which results in a one night stand and a pregnancy

After the baby is born you decide to take dating more seriously because you want to have a two parent household for your baby. Eventually you find someone you fall deeply in love with and this is the person who you decide to marry even though you are noncommittal

After you commit to your eight relationship you decide to never have romantic interactions with anyone else than your partner

In case your partner dies before you, you are not allowed to date or marry anyone else

Generation 3: Acedia (Sloth)

Seeing your parent having a hectic life with different romances and a demanding career you decide to take it easy in life. You love going on vacations and just do nothing. You even take doing nothing to the next level by calling someone every time something has to be done. Fire? Call the firefighters. Broken electronics? Call someone to fix it. Need to go somewhere but your children are at home? Call a nanny. Is something dirty? Call a maid. The only things in your life you put a little effort in is fishing and gaming. Eventually you decide to fully embrace the relaxation of living on an island and move to Sulani*.

Traits: lazy, slob, clumsy

Aspiration: Beach Life (or Angling Ace if you don’t have Island Living)

Career: Fisherman and after that Conservationist (or Tech Guru- eSport Gamer Branch if you don’t have Island living)

Rules:

Master the Beach Life aspiration and complete the Fisherman career (level 3). The Conservationist career you don’t have to complete but do make sure Sulani has improved to it’s final stage.

After reaching level 3 in the Fisherman career you notice that the health of the fish you catch is declining and decide to quit the fisherman career to become a conservationist and start to actively help to clean up the island.

Master the fishing and video gaming skill.

Find a partner to carry on the lineage

Pay little attention to the upbringing of your child(ren)

*(If you don’t have the Island Living EP, you are allowed to live wherever you want for this gen. You also need to master the Angling ace aspiration and complete the Tech Guru (eSport Gamer Branch) career instead. You still need to master the video gaming and fishing skill. When you become an adult you realise that you paid little attention to your child(ren) for most of their childhood and you want to make up for it by adopting a child and becoming more active in raising all of your children).

Generation 4: Superbia (Pride)

You see your parent neglecting everything in life, even raising you! You want to make sure that this does not happen to your children and you decide to help them with everything. Seeing your children doing good at school makes you really proud and you like to let everyone know that your children are doing well. You also like when your personal life is going well and you love getting promoted in your career. You want everyone to know when you get promoted so you throw a house party every time this happens.

Traits: perfectionist, neat, self-absorbed (if you have Get Famous) or proper (if you have Snowy Escape)

Aspiration: World-famous Celebrity or Super Parent

Career: Acting or Style Influencer (either Branch)

Rules:

Master the chosen aspiration and complete the chosen career

Master the parenting skill

Find a partner to carry on the lineage

When you notice that one of your children is not doing well in school you start acting disappointed in this child and give it consequences for not doing well like giving extra chores, set a curfew or grounding your child.

After a lot of arguments you notice that your child really enjoys making food. You finally decide to help make their dreams come true even when they do not fit in your ‘perfect’ world.

Generation 5: Gula (Gluttony)

When you are a child you feel like your parents put too much pressure on getting good grades in school but you don’t care about this at all. All you want is to enjoy life and to party! This results in you skipping school, hanging around with friends and going to parties. You try to be away from home as much as possible and because of that you get a job as a fast food employee as a teenager. When you are at home you can often be found in the kitchen. You really like food! To make it and to eat it. Lots of it. When it is time to finally get out of the house you decide to take a job in the Culinary career.

Traits: glutton, dance machine, childish

Aspiration: Grilled Cheese aspiration and after this the Master Chef or Master Mixologist aspiration

Career: Fast food employee and the Culinary Career (either Branch)

Rules:

Master the Grilled cheese aspiration (to unlock this eat three plates of grilled cheese in a row) and after this the Master chef or Master mixologist aspiration

Complete the Culinary career.

Master the cooking, mixology, and the baking or gourmet cooking skill

Go to a nightclub every weekend to party

Find a partner to carry on the lineage

Learn all of the experimental foods from restaurants (if you have Dine out) or learn all the recipes from food stalls in the city (if you have City living), or do both!

After years of excessive eating and drinking you start to worry about your health. You decide to start incorporating workouts in your life. When you reach adulthood you include going for a run on every wednesday and sunday.

Generation 6: Avaritia (Greed)

Fall in love with someone that is married and has a child or children. You desperately want this person to be yours so you convince them to divorce their spouse and marry you instead when you are a young adult.

Have at least one child to carry on the lineage

On your birthday of becoming an adult, your spouse wants to invite the children and ex-spouse from their previous marriage. You are reluctant but you agree to have them over. When they are at your house you start to realise what negative impact your greediness had on the lives of the other family. You decide that you want to do something back to the world so you start volunteering and donating 1000 simoleons to charity every week for the rest of your life.

Generation 7: Invidia (Envy)

As a child your parent never seems to give you the things that you want. You always get a cheaper alternative. This realisation soon results in you comparing your life with that of others. You don’t like that you have the smallest bedroom in the house or that your sibling just got a new toy because it is their birthday. Later in your life these envious thoughts go even further and result in you being jealous of others having a relationship, more money, or a higher level career than you. The last results in you often switching careers because the grass always seems greener on the other side. The only thing that can silence these thoughts in your head is painting. You always liked being creative as a kid but now you are older you realise that there are a lot of painters out there that are better than you which makes you critical about your only passion.

Aspiration: Renaissance Sim

Career: Barista, Arts Critic, Painter

Rules:

Master the Renaissance Sim aspiration and complete the Painter career

Find a partner to to have at least one child with or to carry on the lineage (if you want to play up to generation 10)

You thought that being an arts critic was the right job for you because it combines your passion with you being critical of everything. Seeing others enjoy creating art eventually makes you miss your dream of becoming a painter yourself. Instead of living with the envy you feel towards other artists you decide to start a career as a painter. With every promotion you notice how grateful you are that you had the opportunity to do something you like and you start to appreciate the things in life you have instead of the things you don’t have
