LOCATION: It's their beautiful, beautiful home <3 The Potter House. PARING: Regulus & James
He won't admit it to anybody who asks, but Regulus gets a little bit giddy every time he remembers that he's going to marry James Potter. Sometimes it still feels impossible that someone like James could love him, could want to spend the rest of his life with someone like Regulus. It always seemed like James could do so much better. He could find someone bright and beautiful and as constantly happy as he was. Or someone strong enough to carry all of his burdens for him, so he wouldn't have to try so hard all of the time. He could find someone who didn't have quiet so many cracks and fault-lines in their foundation. But stubbornly, James seemed to want Regulus. And Regulus wasn't going to question it. No, he was holding on for dear life instead.
Walking home and getting to see James every day feels like a blessing. The house that James has allowed Regulus to become at home in. The family that they've built together. Large and messy and so different from what Regulus would have imagined for himself when he was young. There was a time before he had the Potter's in his life, when he was still being raised as someone else's daughter, when he was certain of a grim future with an arranged marriage to a man he didn't love. It would have been Avery, or Nott, or that terrible Flint boy. He had allowed himself to imagine it in gory detail once – courtship and wedding days. There was an almost certainty that he would step out of his honeymoon already a widow, because he can't imagine not stabbing any man like that he would have tried to touch him. Marrying James is a different creature entirely. It's something that makes Regulus feel safe and secure and beloved, certain that James loves him and certain that James will take care of him. Certain that he will do the same. He grows more and more excited by the day.
He can't help be overcome a little by it – the excitement and the wanting to see James – when he lets himself in through the front door. The house feels warm every time he steps into it, like something comforting and steady is settling over his shoulders and welcoming him. He breathes out a sigh of the feeling in it. Everything exactly in place, exactly where he expects to see certain aspects of their lives. There were Harry's toys strewn around the living room, waiting for Regulus to come and tidy up after him. There was Lily's scarf thrown over the back of the couch, proof that she had been here at some point today, proof that she would come back and get it in the future. When he does finally spot James in the kitchen, he gives the man before him a more genuine smile than most others would earn. He lets himself shift toward him, like a planet that has been caught in his orbit and is now doomed to call forever closer. He wants to touch James all the time. And he's allowed to lay a hand on his arm, shift in close to press a lingering kiss to his cheek.
"It's awfully quiet in here Jamie. If you're not careful I'm going to start suspecting that you're up to something."

LOCATION: Grimmauld Place for now :) PARING: Regulus & Remus
Grimmauld Place isn't a dark spectre that hangs over his life anymore, the way it used to be. He refuses to be scared of a house when no one inside it wants to hurt him. It's only on the very worst days that he half expects to find Orion sitting behind an old mahogany desk in the room that used to be his study. It isn't a study anymore, of course. And there is no old mahogany desk – Regulus chopped that up and burned it a long time ago, right along with any control that man used to have over him. He's done better things with this house since he was a teenager. Turned it into something he could be proud of.
He knows that Remus hates it, though. As much as it's changed. As much good as they're doing there with the sanctuary. It will always be the place that Regulus and Sirius almost died more than once, the root of all their hurt. Regulus can bury that hurt because he owns it, because he's buried everything else for so long. People like Remus and James are much slower to forgive the people and rooms that might have hurt the ones they love. This would always be the place devoid of love, where they lived in fear and uncertainty and darkness before they found a sun to shine upon them and save them from their misery. And as much as Regulus refuses to be scared of a house, he hates the idea of Remus being forced to live in a place he hates just because he has no other options. It's fine for the others, with no memories of this place and no reason to hate it. But Remus deserves more.
So Regulus has come to save him for the day. As always, he comes under a pretense. Work to do, something to drop off, details to go over. Regulus still struggles these days to tell people he wants to spend time with them. Words like that get caught in his throat. With Remus it was a little easier. Because Remus has been his friend for so long that it's almost muscle memory. He arrives with some supplies for the werewolves living in their care, and finds Remus in the chaos of the house. He's pointed in Remus's direction by Selene, so she's on the tip of his tongue when he finally settles in next to the man he's been looking for. "Your Lena is settling in well. I can feel my mother rolling in her grave about how she has the run of this place."

Location: The Potter House :) Pairing: Sirius & James
It was something they had to come to terms with a long time ago: the fact that Sirius was frighteningly and intensely co-dependent when it came to James Potter. He'd known it since the end of first year when he went home for the summer. The loneliness of Grimmauld Place was so much more acute when he had gotten used to James's warmth and easy affection, when he had gotten used to having an easy access to human touch. That was a summer where he had missed James like a limb, like James had become a part of him that was vital and irreplaceable. Ever since, Sirius has known that his life without James would be a dark abyss.
So he's clingy, probably. He always has been, and he's always been comforted by the fact that James is kind of clingy too. They're brothers, they're allowed to hold on tightly and never want to let go. It's the Black way of things to love something so much that you might strangle it with the intensity of the grip you're using to hold on. They've never strangled each other, though. Not in the way that Sirius and Regulus were prone to sometimes, loving in a way that sometimes meant lashing out. All Sirius and James were ever able to do was help each other grow and make each other smile. Sometimes he's scared that could change if he isn't careful enough, that he'll end up hurting James somehow, in a way that can't be fixed. It seems like its in his nature sometimes, his mothers blood coming through. Either he's such a mess that he hurts people, or he gets angry and vindictive for no reason. He's trying, every day, to make sure. that never happens here.
It doesn't mean he isn't kind of annoying sometimes. Coming into James' house uninvited. Raiding his fridge, worming his way into his space. He's been keeping things together lately, keeping himself upright and practically whole. A little less messy. So he feels like he's earned this. He feels like he needs a day where all he has to think about is James and Regulus and Harry. Family, and the ways in which he belongs in the mix of things. Uncle Sirius. Padfoot. Something that has a place in this house. "I'm having an emergency." Sirius says, when he locks eyes with James. "It's the kind where we haven't really hung out in like, two days."

Location: 12 Grimmauld Place. Pairing: Sirius & Remus
The never-ending project that was the Grimmauld Place werewolf sanctuary required quite a lot of potions on hand, Sirius had discovered. That much should have been obvious. There was the wolfsbane, first and foremost, enough for as many werewolves could fit inside the walls or might be out running in various packs further afield, enough for anybody who might want it. And then there were healing potions, the things people might need to sooth the aches and pains of a transformation, or help them sleep during the rough week of a new moon. Sirius couldn't help much with the actual brewing of things. He hadn't been bad at potions necessarily, but keeping the subject on for his NEWTS would have meant long days stuck in the same room as Severus Snape, which was bad for everyones health. It would have also meant two more years of Slughorn trying to get Sirius into his little club – as if being a slime ball towards one Black brother wasn't good enough.
He had a sneaking suspicion, when Regulus sent him here, that his little brother was up to something. And the charitable part of him allowed himself to think that Regulus wanted Sirius to get over his lingering aversion to this house, the spectre of their childhood within its walls. It had been a healing process for Reg to take this place and turn it into something else, something better. It was brighter now, and so much warmer. It felt more like a home. The doorknobs didn't bite and there were no grandfather clocks to shoot sharp bolts as you walked past. Any remnants of their parents had been scrubbed away. But it would always be the same house, Sirius imagined. The same rooms, no matter how much they had been changed. The uncharitable part of Sirius imagined that Regulus just wanted to hurt him for whatever stupid thing Sirius had done recently.
Perhaps it had been foolish to think that Remus wouldn't be there. It was his place, even if he didn't live inside the walls himself. He had friends who did, and people who were depending on him, and likely some kind of work to do. So when he descends into the kitchen to deposit the supply of potions he's been sent to deliver, he ends up looking at Remus' face. "Hey." He starts. "Special delivery." The words come out with a forced casualness. There is often a forced casualness in his tone, these days, if Remus is in the room. "Dad and Reg have apparently decided that i'm the bloody official Potter & Sons errand boy."
