With little, children create a lot. It's not the first time I've said something like that. Their originality and creativity goes beyond what we can imagine.
Where do they get their ideas? Painting your body is normal, what child or adult has never done it? But do we know what they want to convey or represent? Can you see where these 8-year-old children, from a public school in Porto, Portugal, got this idea? A heartbeat just like in a hospital machine.
Do you realize, parents, how attentive your children are to everything that happens around them?

What if one day, a child presents you with a small personal project that he started to create, just with a few sheets of white paper, colored pencils and a scissors?
What a delight it was to arrive at school at 8am and be presented with a sticker book, made by Gabriel, a 7-year-old boy.
Who has never had a sticker book?
If you don't have one, make one!!

Another day developing children's imagination. This time, at Arts Club, we explore paper, cutting and creativity
We create the world through collage!
How interesting and delightful it is to watch children explore materials in their own way.
They communicate with us in a unique way, some use the abstract, others choose small detailed cuts and we still have those who use the material in its total form, without cuts, they just assemble and glue them.
Their exploration is great in order to create what they want.
Will these children remember these processes?
Tell me what you think?

Drawing, what a wonderful activity to develop our children’s creativity and dexterity.
Do children just have to draw on sheets of paper with colored pencils or felt-tip pens?
What if we gave children different materials to draw and paint in several types of supports? How far would their abilities go? Can you imagine what can hapen with new ways to expand themselfs?
Today we use sunlight to draw and paint our shadows, on the floor, with chalk.
Drawings that the rain will wash away, but children's memories will not.
What do children learn from this activity?
Motor skills, creativity, sense of scale, big and small, light and dark. Teamwork, capacity for immobility

What a great day mixing colours!!
Another fantastic day at the children's @imaginário.
Today we explored colours by mixing them. We used the primary colours, white and black. We also use a scale as a way to create recipes and be able to recreate the same colours later.
To finish, each child named their colour...do you want to discover the colours we created?
Do you want to find out?

Do you think that drawing a human model is only for Van Gogh, Picasso or great artists? See what little artists can do. See how they manage to capture the essence of their model.
It was a fantastic day in these children's @imaginário. Today they developed concentration, attention to detail, motor skills in an exploratory way through drawing and painting materials by observing a human figure.
Each child observed the same figure and used drawing and painting materials to communicate what they saw and felt, through the figure model.
Can you imagine, this wonderful moment?

Do you ever, as a responsible adult, who is reading these words, remember how it was to play with mud what you felt and what you did and what you made happen?
Can you remember the feeling of freedom, the imagination, the creativity of having the power to do whatever you wanted?
If you can't imagine, stop, close your eyes, relax, take a deep breath and return to that moment, when you were a child and all of that was possible. Do you want to take that moment away from your children or students?
Next time, join them and experience with them that moment of creativity, exploration, freedom and tranquility, maybe that's what you need, Playing with mud.

It is very important to never let our inner child die. Never abandon her!!
But what is it about this child that allows us to learn throughout our lives, in a light, responsible and playful way? Why is she that important?
Is keeping this child alive a sign of a lack of responsibility?
When working in schools, I encounter this situation every day
Children with busier schedules than their parents, where intellect is more important than emotion and their own body, the child's ability to perceive himself, to perceive the world around him.
Is there something more innate, more important, like playing for the child to get there?
Is there anything more important than playing for the child to foresee, what could happen, in their adult life, in their relationships through the most varied types of games?
Is it: Playing is lifelong learning or Learning is lifelong play?
Play, for your children, for your students, but most of all for yourself!!

It feels so great when we connect with others throu silly faces.
I enjoy very much making them at home, at school, in the street, at the groucery, in the bus...Play is using everything we got, not ONLY external material, but our self, our body, our words, our movements, our imagination, even if we don't have anykind of toy we can play.
Play is to BE creative and imagine behound our bounderies.

Using your own body to play, you can discouver emotions, sensations going throu the body before they even happen. What a wonderful way to learn about yourself, throu play!!

What a wonderful moment you can offer your child giving her the opportunity to explore materials in a sensorial way.
Get some flour, salt, water and food colouring.
Let them feel the diferent textures and temperatures. What happens by mixing more or less colours and the materials. Let them explore all materials freely.
Imagine what they are learning at the present moment. Sure they are not interested with the results, they are simply exploring and having fun discouvering their own body, by moving their hands, sensing the limits between her body and those funny and colourfull materials.
