so, long story short, I tried the whole multiple blogs thing and it didn’t work out, I just don’t have the time or energy to manage more than one blog at a time, and I don’t want to keep logging in here sporadically only to disappear for several months.

After the first of the year, I’m gonna be moving all my muses from this blog to my main multi, @wcrldlyadventures​. it’s been a while since I’ve replied to any threads here, but if anyone’s still interested in keeping a thread, just let me know and I’ll make sure to move it over when I make the switch.

“Yeah, that’s the dream, isn’t it?”

He’s supposed to be over his self-depreciation. He’d sworn to leave all that behind him when he became a high school student, and he had Ashido holding the promise of spreading rumors over his head to hold him to it. (Not that he really thought she would, but some days it did help when he found himself slipping back to that dark place.)

But it was hard. Between his field work, his studies (or lack thereof), keeping up his usual workout routine, and making time for his friends, he felt stretched to his limits most days, and Plus Ultra! could only take him so far. It was hard to live a life without regret when one’s own body was acting against them from the day they were born.

It was not a manly way of thinking, and he knew he needed to snap out of his before his friends caught wind of his gloominess.

“But that’s what we’re all going for, right? Maybe not the whole Crimson Riot angle, but becomin’ great heroes and all? Everyone here’s gonna be a great hero, that’s why I gotta make sure I stand out.”

Least manly in no way means not a man - Crimson Riot himself said it wasn’t at all about gender - but even so, he’s never in a good headspace to hear something like that, spoken so casually. It’s amazing how he can take so much physical damage and just get right back up like it’s no sweat, but a few simple words can knock him down and keep him pinned so easily.

It doesn’t matter. It’s just a dumb rumor, it’s probably not even true. Just don’t think about it. Everyone knows you’re a man. Remember what Crimson Riot said. Don’t think about it, don’t think about it, DON’T THINK-

Geez, he’s not sure if he wants to punch a hole in the wall or curl up in bed and stare at the wall for several hours until everything just shuts up. What he definitely wanted to do was throw up.

“Hah, well, my classmates are pretty manly, so I can’t say it’s a surprise.” His smile is obviously forced, lacking the boundless energy usually behind it. Looks like it was going to be one of those nights.

“Oh...” She sighs, a bit dreamy. “That would be wonderful!”

Prom was more of an American tradition, but from the first day she’d ever caught wind of it, Himiko was obsessed with the idea. An entire day-and-night devoted to dressing up in one’s fanciest attire, painting the town blood-red with one’s sweetheart on their arm, and of course being elected prom queen, the highest teenage honor known to humankind.

Even if they did dump blood on her, it would still be a dream come true.

“But only if my king is cute!” Even if the hypothetical king in question wasn’t as cute as Izuku or Ochako, she wouldn’t mind as long as he was pleasant to look at.

Step aside, Cinderella. There’s a new belle of the ball in town, and you should see her in a crown.

“Well, isn’t that a silly notion. Surely whoever is spreading tall tales could be a little more creative than that?”

Neito is not at all a believer in the phenomenon of gay panic. If a certain dopey, grinning face happened to flash through his mind immediately, well, it’s only natural that one should think of their classmates from time to time. If the tips of his ears appear to be reddening, it’s only the heat in the room. 

Don’t read so much into things, really; his heart is certainly not pounding at the very thought of a certain name that he has certainly not mindlessly doodled into a notebook late at night when he should have been studying.

“But just in case such a rumor persists… Let me be the first to assure you that I am far too devoted to my hero studies to even entertain the notion of relationships at this point.”

Now, if you’ll excuse him, he’s going to head back to his room and scream into his pillow for the next couple hours.

quick li’l notice that my activity here is probably gonna start slowing down over the next couple weeks. (i know it’s pretty slow on this blog to begin with, but i don’t expect to be queuing up replies after this weekend.) i’ve got a family trip coming up at the end of october and i want to make sure i’ve got enough things to queue up for when i’ll be gone, so i’m likely going to be hoarding stuff in my drafts until then. (apologies to my partners who have been waiting a while, i promise i’m not avoiding any threads, i’m just slow.)

like, i’ll make an official “vacation hiatus” post when i actually leave, i just wanted to throw this out now so folks don’t think i like. abandoned my children or something
