Would Rickie Lambert be a good fit?
For the moment forget about wages and if the board are able to afford what he would want and think about Lambert in terms of if he would be a good fit for us. Lambert is a strong, big and powerful classic English centre forward. The main attributes are his strength, heading and goalscoring ability. At the moment we have two strikers with similar skills that Lambert would bring in Taylor and Bilssett so like most fans I believe we need someone up top with a bit of pace to get in behind the opponents defence. Last season we had Spencer, Taylor, Blissett, Brunt, Garita and Goodwille. Out of the six only one (Goodwille) would be the type of striker who you would expect to get in behind the defence, however apart from Brunt who was out through injury Goodwille featured the least. From this information we can see what Derek looks for in his forwards and that is what Lambert would bring to Argyle. I think if Lambert was to sign we would need to either loan or sign another forward with that pace unless Derek is playing on using Anisworth or Grant in that role when required in matches. We also have our new apprentices who signed their professional contracts to consider, Alex Fletcher for example had a successful season for the youth team and Derek may be playing on featuring him in games in the coming season. If Lambert does sign for Argyle I don’t think we can be anything but happy with the signing, Lambert has had a lot of experience in his career in the lower divisions, with promotions from league one to the premier league with Southampton as well as playing for Stockport and Bristol Rovers. Then going on to sign for Liverpool and play for the national team he clearly knows what he takes to win and win under pressure which we need at Argyle.

Graham Carey stays!
Graham Carey has this morning signed a new deal to keep him at the club. This is the news that all Argyle fans have been waiting for and like myself I believe the majority had almost conceded that he would be moving on to another club.
However Graham has shown a huge amount of commitment to the club with offers for more money being offered at other clubs.
Following a successful season in 2015/16 season and picking up the player of the season, last season Graham scored 15 goals and had 15 assists and was arguable the best player in the division.
This news will bring huge optimism to all Argyle fans for the new season, with the other additions we have made we may surprise a lot of clubs next season!

The return of @GreggWylde Plymouth Argyle have announced the return of former green Gregg Wylde who left to to join Millwall after we lost in the Playoff Final in the 2015/16 season. His time at Millwall wasn't the most successful which sore him being released in May. The response from Argyle fans has on the whole been positive but there are a number of fans that disagree with his return to Home Park. I myself am pleased with his return as I believe he has something to prove in this league as well as to us because he left and he has been given this opportunity. Whatever your view on the return of Wylde I think we should all be behind the players that play for us in order to give them the confidence to play to the best of their ability. Wylde made just 5 league appearances 4 from the bench and two appearances in the cup. So Although it didn't work it, it appears he was never really given a chance to perform. Welcome home Gregg I look forward to seeing you again this season!

Gary Sawyer sign new Contract! Gary Sawyer has signed a new deal keeping him at the club. Sawyer has played 178 games in two spells at the clubs and made 22 appearances last season. There is no news in the length of the contract or type of contract it is but it appears to be a 1 year deal which could possible have the option to extend. Gary is a great representative for the club and I am very pleased that he will be remaining at the club next season.

Argyle release the new away kit for the 2017/18 season Plymouth Argyle have now released the new away kit that is supporting a citrus and black design. The design is a bright green shirt with a black pattern covering the top to offset the brightness with also black shorts and bright green socks. The response from Argyle fans is very mixed and has the marmite effect with fans either loving the kit or hating it. From a personally point of view I wouldn't say I hated the kit, however I don't think I will be purchasing the kit upon its release to sales. Argyle away form was fantastic last season so let's just hope the kit blinds the opponents and we bag the 3 points!

Argyle sign Dutch goalkeeer Robbert te Lokeke Plymouth Argyle have announced the signing of 6ft 4in Dutch goalkeeper Robbert te Lokeke after his contract ended with Achilles '29 who played in the 2nd tier of Dutch football last season. The 28 year old appears to have been brought in to challenge Plymouth Argyle captain Luke Mccormick for the number one spot. After spending some time doing some research and looking at some highlights of the goalkeeper his main attribute looks like it might be his shot stopping ability from one on ones as well as from distance. Loeke has previously played against Argyle in a pre season back in 2010 where the match ended in a 3-3 draw. As well as being on a trial for Ross county went Derek Adams was in charge. So we Derek will have a good idea what to expect out of the new goalkeeper.

Argyle release images of new kit! Plymouth Argyle have now finally released images of the new home kit and new singing Jamie Ness is the first player to model it! My first thoughts of the kit are all positive, this years kit is darker than last years kit which is something that we maybe wouldn't expect after having the complaints of visibility last season. Keeping the kit a darker shade of green was something that I wanted us to keep. They have managed make the kit feel lighter though by having white shorts and socks as well as white across the shoulders. The kit also as the design seen in the last programme of last seasons game running down left side of the chest. The initial reaction from Argyle fans like myself all seem positive. From looking through comments on twitter as well as the poll we ran the majority seem to really like the kit and are looking forward to seeing it person. This season kit isn't really one that is comparable to kit we have previously had but the one it is closest to is probably the 2009/10 season kit which isn't the most memorable season as we were relegated from the championship. Let's hope that this kit brings great memories to a successful 2017/18 season back in league one! Argyle also released the prices for the new kit which can be seen below. Adult shirts: S-XXXXL £39.99 Junior shirts: 5/6YRS - 13/14YRS £29.99 Ladies shirts: 10-16 £39.99 Mini-kits 4/6MTHS - 3/4YRS £39.99 Adult shorts: S - XL £21.99 Junior shorts: 5/6YRS - 13/14YRS £19.99 Adult socks: £13.99 Youth socks: £12.99 Boys socks: £11.99

Welcome to Argyle Joel Grant
Argyle have announced the signing of Joel Grant from Exeter. To say that I am pleased is probably down playing the feeing, Grant is one of Exeters key players in their promotion push last season and with the pace he will bring to the side I am sure he will excite the Argyle faithful. Grant is your typical tricky quick winger that will scare the full backs of the opposition and will get the ball into the box. Last season Grant player 20 league games and scored 4 goals. Based on that we might not see him on the score sheet every week but maybe expect him to be providing the goals for the likes of Taylor and Blissett. The important thing to me is that it provides another option, another style of player we can use to gain the advange over the team we are playing against.
