ok i need to yap real quick because i’ve been seeing people complain about “reader” doing something they wouldn’t do in fics and calling it cringe or weird and like… 😭 bb. do you know how fanfic works. do you understand. do you comprehend. authors are literally writing for themselves and letting you read it like a treat. it’s free. you didn’t commission it. they didn’t read your diary to match your every thought. they’re humans with their own experiences and interpretations. hello??

and like 😭 the “reader” is often a little bit the author… and a little bit who they wish they were… so when people say stuff like “ugh reader is so annoying” i’m just sitting there like omg do you know you might have just insulted the person who gave you this free food from their heart?? do you realize that??? 😠

if you want a reader that’s 100% you-coded down to the bones, then babe. write it. that’s literally what the rest of us do. but don’t roast people for writing what they enjoy and what makes them feel something, especially when they’re letting you peek at it like it’s a gift box 🧍‍♀️
