I made a physical hcs page ;; very scared to share it, but we step very far out of comfort zones here I guess

I wrote the hcs out below the cut! My handwriting is not pleasant to read so LMAO
Eyes:
Hearthian eyes have membranes over them to keep dust and grime out. They can easily go blind without them.
Their eyes are also very reflective because of how large and wet they are. And they often have eyebrow spots!
Hatchlings hatch with white eyes because the membrane is still thick and milk-colored, so until it clears and they can see- white eyes! They also open their eyes shortly after hatching (minutes to hours after)
Skin:
Hearthian skin is smooth, similar to some sort of salamander with spots. Fresh hatchlings have no markings, but gain them at first shed- more come after. When hatchlings grow, they shed a lot! Once they stop growing, they stop shedding.
Shedding is also where skin conditions are noticed. Things like the inability to shed, pattern shifts (Gossan!), drastic tone shifts, especially easy scarring (like scarring from sheds), and pattern anomalies (light spots rather than dark; Chert!)
The hands and feet have very thick skin, like amphibious paw pads. The feet are more hardened, so Hearthians sometimes choose to walk around barefoot- doesn't hurt! And the hands are less rough, but still tough.
Scars:
Hearthians have an insane ability to heal physical ailments and things that should probably kill them, but they scar very easily. They also have scars akin to belly buttons from egg yolk shit.
Jewelry:
Jewelry is common and made by no one in particular out of temporary materials (things that rot away, not metal). Earrings are the exception, but only the part in the ear is metal.
Jewelry given to SOs is usually also temporary, but the personal item inside is not. Like pendants and shiny rocks and such.

I think the greatest cruelty of "If you want to see it, you have to make it yourself" isn't the work of making it or the risk of not succeeding, but that even when you successfully create something exactly how you would like it to be, you can never look at in the same way that an external person would experience it for the first time.
You will always be the person who made it, who knows the ins and outs of how it is put together, has seen and revised the material hundreds of times, knows all the flaws and failed attempts.
I made it myself but I will never get to see it in the way I wanted to.

I know that ultimately it is a compliment, I have no beef with any individuals who have called my art cute. In fact: I know my art is cute!Even when I don't intend it, when I make art it just tends to come out naturally cute. I'm a cutie pie, I can't help it.
Howeverrr I'm also an autistic woman with a baby-face who's been infantalized by so many people over my life: I can't help having formed a distaste for the word. Especially when its used on things I make that are intended to be far more than that. I've posted so many comics about serious topics like trauma and instead of an acknowledgement of their serious nature, many just say "So cute!"
Don't get me wrong: I want to believe in a world where cute and respected can coexist. There's no reason besides societal bias to think they can't. However I dont think a lot of these commentors are as much fighting that fight as just saying the first thing that comes to mind.
I'm not telling any of you to change your ways, or worse: harrass people on my posts calling things cute. I'm just venting out some frustrations that are ultimately mine to deal with. Although, if you want to go out of your way to be super niceys: consider commenting about the second or third thing you noticed in someone's art or writing! Artists love when the layers they put effort into are noticed.

To all Tumblr users, please pay close attention and read this carefully. You won't find this in the news how people in Gaza are managing to buy food while prices are extremely high. Let me explain:Some people who have donation campaigns try to withdraw money from the bank. But when they attempt to withdraw $1,000, they receive only about $400 because of a 60% fee, due to the shutdown of all banks in Gaza. But more importantly 80% of people in Gaza don’t have donation campaigns, and they have no work, because Gaza has been turned into rubble.
Among those affected is one of my own families my brother’s family, and my two sisters’ families. Please, donate here
