Hello everyone! I am a uni student from the United States and I am happy to announce that I have been accepted for a study abroad trip in the United Kingdom! Unfortunately, this trip will be quite expensive for me, especially as an American student, and I might not be able to go if I don’t get enough money. I hate to post this here, but I know that a lot of giving and wonderful people are on tumblr, so I figure this is as good a place as any to ask for help! Any amount is massively appreciated, and to show how grateful I would be, I have decided to send a postcard from the UK (or Cleveland if you’re from the UK and would like something different) to anyone who donates! The card will have a thank you note from me :)

My current languages
Hey guys! My bio isn’t very detailed about what I’m actually studying right now, so I’d like to go into more detail :)
I’m always studying Danish but it’s more passive than anything now, I just use it daily
I’m trying to get back to ASL which I kind of abandoned years ago when I started Danish rip
In school I’m studying French and Spanish
I’m beginning to self study Portuguese and I’d like to restart German soon!
My goals for the near future are to finally get some footing with Icelandic and Irish, which I’ve always wanted to learn desperately!
I think that’s it for now :)

Langblr Introduction
technically
I had a langblr before, but I was stupid and deleted the account I had it on without realizing that my long archive of language resources had vanished without a trace. So I am back again, and hopefully I will not be repeating that mistake.
Here’s a more formal introduction than I had on my previous langblr.
About me:
I am 17 (turning 18 next month (yes, I am a Taurus))
I am a senior in high school
I am from America and my native language is English
I am currently learning Spanish, Korean, Portuguese, and Russian (and some ASL on the side, but pretty infrequently in comparison)
Planning on majoring in Spanish during college (after transferring from a state college to a 4 year one), and I want to go into teaching (and some translation work on the side, if time constraints allow for it)
Other than foreign languages, I like studying politics, philosophy, marine science, history, physics, astronomy, and computer science
Langblrs that inspire me: @spanishskulduggery, @lovelybluepanda, @languagesandshootingstars, @lemonadeandlanguages, @sprachtraeume, and a bunch others that I can’t think of off the top of my head
Resources I recommend: howtostudykorean.com, Language Transfer (on Soundcloud), Notes In Spanish podcast, Living Language, Talk To Me in Korean, Yoyo Chinese (on YouTube), Quick Korean (on YouTube), Duolingo, LingoDeer, Clozemaster, Coursera, Obenkyo, Memrise, Quizlet, Sogang Korean, Linguti, DayDayUp Chinese, Lifeprint.com (for ASL)
Resources I avoid like the plague: Rosetta Stone
Goals for the near future:
To take the TOPIK Level 1 in 2019
To bring my Spanish to at least a C1, Korean to B1, and Portuguese and Russian to A2
To start studying German, Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Finnish, and Swahili within the next five years
Somehow find room for all my other target languages within the next decade
Actually have a Duolingo streak longer than 3 days (maybe finally break my record of 43 days)
Travel outside the US (and by extension, save enough money to actually be able to do so)

this took forever to make so i’m really hoping it’s good
