Karuta bot aka stressxinfinity

I would like to start this essay with the fact I enjoyed the bot for some time but you cannot love something so flawed wholeheartedly. Eventually, the hobby, activity, or item becomes so draining and or emotionally exhausting it too can become a chore. I beg everyone who does play karuta or encourages others take mental breaks at times.

The first main issue I have with the bot is the main server aka the support server. You may be wondering why as all bots have general main servers to use the bot, interact with people, and help with staff but you'd be partially right. The staff is very degrading and even when asking very simple 2-second questions they tend to send you half-assed replies, make you upset you even asked, or make you feel some form of public humiliation for even asking 'such a simple question'. I wish that was all but there are also the rules of said server and how they're rarely enforced. When it comes to spam posting the mods will not hesitate to ban or mute you but slurs that they say they do not allow are constantly used. You have members calling people f/gs, the hard r, and mentally ill or the r slur. Yet as of 5/17 they have no rule about talking about other bots yet if you mention gachapon you're banned, muted, etc. Some may have the excuse of the mods can only do so much but by allowing this behavior you're giving yourself the right to be judged as well. They have dyno in the server which can easily ban people for using slurs and they have bots pre-programmed with auto-ban slur features or those who use multiple times so it's not a hard issue to solve.

The next issue of discussion is the newest permit feature and how instead of discouraging alting it encourages and helps scammers get more things. Today alone I have seen a handful of users make the excuse of 'I do not have a trade permit, I can send if you slide me one for free.' The user will send for the asked amount only for the user to block them and take the item at hand to then resell for cards. Last night when it was posted at 12am EST I too was awake watching main general as people began to protest and express anger. The mods did nothing to help the wildness and only warned those who mentioned other bots while people used slurs to 'defend their point' like it was okay? You'll warn me for mentioning another bot yet when someone calls me a gay faggot it's suddenly not a mute-worthy offense? You just happened to not see after warning me the same second in the same channel? I'd like to think within the same second you could easily see slurs being used and people encouraging said behaviors in an official server.

Lastly, I'd like to discuss trading or I call it please stop messaging me asking if I'd like a 0wl damaged card for 10 tickets. The trade system is flawed and it takes years to sell single items like frames, cards, and dyes. You have those who overprice and therefore scam new players and then have those who underpay by at least 10 tickets worth just to sell the card they've had for months now. It's sad just how awful the system is when you have twenty dms of people not asking to buy your card but instead trying to trade you for cards you don't want and or cannot use to work. Not only are the dms terrible but the people who tend to ping you for wishlist, items, etc just to beg are extremely inconvenient due to pings in servers hopng you sold cards, had a wishlist drop, etc. I loved the third party bot idea that Craig banned which he stated was "for the people" yet who is black market for? People can argue the cards are cheaper but usually they're auctioned to be overpriced and unless you're using gems they're damaged and not worth the time. I almost feel pity for those who do use the black-market feature as it's benefiting neither the seller nor the users. You'd think he'd hold raffles with those gems or use them towards rewards for members yet he doesn't.

  My final point is Craig isn't a great guy and he's actually very morally wrong about things. He's very against criticism and the mods he did pick are very much snippy and arrogant. He adds things that no one wants and yet when they voice they do not want it he does nothing nor does he try to compromise somehow. Playing this bot is almost like pulling teeth as it's painfully slow and at the end of the day you lose more than you gain. Please stay safe and if you're overwhelmed by dms, pings, and people calling you the n word seven times a day in general stay away from this bot.
