So a detail about Kafka that I like in the Kaiju no 8 light novel is that he hates dad jokes. There’s a scene where he’s talking to Kikoru. It’s about how he transformed in front of the tv crew and Kikoru said to not wag his tail which Kafka responds with the fact that he has horns. Right after he says,

“Back in elementary school, Kafka had a homeroom teacher who told dad jokes at a rapid-fire pace. Kafka remembered vowing back then that no such puns or gags would cross his own lips in the future.”

I love finding out more things about Kafka. The anime only scenes with him and Monster Sweeper and his chapter in the light novel makes me hope that we can get a data book of the characters with more information or details about them.

What do you MEAN Isao literally gave Kafka his heart?????!??? HOW HAS THAT 1 SCENE NOT SINGLE-HANDEDLY GENERATED 50 DIFFERENT FICS ALREADY???!

Even before that, Isao overruled everyone so Kafka would have a chance to live. He's put so much faith in Kafka that it's SICK there's barely anything on them😭

small brain: siegfried is a dragonslayer

big brain: siegfried is a dragon

space brain: siegfried would have become a dragon were it not for his one fatal weakness leaving him human enough to die to human affairs

huge enlightenment brain:

siegfried in orleans reveals that he doesn’t actually remember how he slayed fafnir (because it isn’t mentioned how he did it in the nibelungenlied, just that he did it), all he remembers is that he woke up in fafnir’s lair with both him and the dragon covered in its blood. nobody else was there to see him kill the dragon and he doesn’t remember actually doing it.

in fact, most of his heroic feats are told as hearsay by other characters in the nibelungenlied so there’s no real evidence that he actually did any of the stuff he did before his relationship with kriemhild started, long after he (supposedly) killed fafnir

both of his interludes revolve around the dragon fafnir as well as the treasure it hoarded being so deeply tied to siegfried’s existence that they manifest wherever he is summoned.

siegfried himself is repeatedly referred to as a demonic dragon and he says “I’m really more of a reptile…” when santa lily calls him a reindeer

his noble phantasm is also described as being simultaneously a holy and a demonic sword depending on who wields it, and he was faster at activating it when alive than as a servant because of a combination of inborn disposition and his heart being a dragon’s mana core, both traits which didn’t transfer to his saint graph properly

increasing the limits of siegfried’s saint graph in fgo gives him draconic traits

he is notoriously bad at the whole being a human person thing and lived his entire life deeply aware of how much stronger he is than everyone else and how he should use this power for others’ sakes, leading to him simply doing whatever was asked of him because he didn’t know how to determine what is just himself.

siegfried didn’t develop any desires of his own until after becoming a servant and his one selfish action in apocrypha and by extension his entire life was tearing his dragon’s heart out of his chest and placing it in another’s body so that they may live a life unbound by their creation

siegfried’s heart slowly transforms sieg into fafnir for SOME reason

they literally have the same blue glowing symbol on their chest

siegfried and fafnir are the same existence. the demonic dragon wanted to be a good human but lived as a machine because he didn’t know how. nearly all his feats are hearsay because “siegfried” did not exist to perform those feats until after “fafnir” died and only after being mistaken for a human his entire life to the point of having it influence his saint graph as a heroic spirit was he able to form human desires of his own.

siegfried himself is the dragon that he slays in order to be a person
