This time I got caught up in the violence of it all. The coercive violence of the director, expressed both explicitly and as Kaufman's Earth descends into a fascist surveillance state, the violence of the male egotist refusing to seriously believe the women who make up the entirety of his social circles have distinct lives, the violence of the self in constructing an order of the world, and the violence of death in tearing it apart. Almost as pessimistic as Being John Malkovitch in this sense, in that its entire world is made of violence, but the absurdist humor and the kind, deliberate ending, wherein something akin to interpersonal synthesis is achieved, make it all the more beautiful. It is possible for life to achieve beauty even in the moment of death. This is optimism.

i post in a few communities focused on helping people identify ai-generated images and something i'm noticing a lot is how many people are paying for a "business logo" and receiving an ai generated image.

y'all, even before generative ai, if a business logo is commissioned, you are owed at the very least a raw .psd file. standard practice is to provide a vector image, because a logo needs to look good at several sizes, but a raw editable .psd is the bare minimum. receiving a .jpg or .png is not accomplishing the directive of providing a logo, at best you are receiving a logo concept.

maybe tumblr isn't the right audience for this but i have to vent my frustrations here because this is a scam that could be avoided just by people understanding what it is they require. you don't even have to be good at telling if something is ai or not to avoid this problem, because ai cannot vectorize or provide layers! aaaaghh!

my uh, close internet friend broke up with his girlfriend over financial things but the more he describes it the more i think its insane he ever stayed. She wanted to be engaged before they even moved in with each other, no prenup, she's 60k in debt, he has like 100k in assets, she's a Divorce Laywer. Can you imagine getting rushed into marriage by a divorce lawyer. lmao.
