POSTHUMANOMAD 2020® Welcome post-humanomad! Conceptual art project inspired by architecture and robotics. In 2016, theory in architecture and design course at university introduced me to the concept of post-humanism which I wrote my manifesto assignment on. Since, it developed into project N.O.M.A.D. which presents a speculative idea about a post-human future where a technocratic society has taken over. The developing chain of events have encouraged new way of life, urban tactics and re-organisation. Mobile cities began to be created from walking and flying buildings or ihnabitable spaces for various purposes such as migration, escape from natural disasters, testing high-end technologies and experience new architectural way of life. Thus, the potential interface connection between the building and its user gradually becomes second nature. People employ civil and military technologies to create dynamic cityscapes and populate new landscapes. The migrating cities trigger a new pattern of non-organized existence and thus initiate a hi-tech nomadic urbanism of the deep future. Architects become assemblers of technology. Everything changes and the status quo is no more. Prepare for a journey!

Post-Human N.O.M.A.D. 2020 - platform user interface:
1 - Splash Screen (loading); 2 - Main Menu; 3 - Launch Pad (level choice);
4 - Overall Progress Check; 5 - Rig Customization; 6 - Settings Menu;
7 - Pilot Crew (character preferences);
Representation of the virtual reality application and its capabilities using experimental software and hardware where the user steps into the role of controlling a nomad with all their senses. If the far future requires from us to adjust to our environment with special tools due to different factors such as global environmental change or other unpredictable events and contingencies, emergence of interface systems between humans and machines will happen. They are very likely to be used in order to apply control of situations over distances and beyond obstacles.

Posthumanism is a concept originating in the fields of science- fiction, futurology, contemporary art, and philosophy meaning an era where people are existing in a state of being beyond human, on the verge of becoming a hybrid entity. The concept addresses questions of technology, ethics, spatial justice, species, existence, trans-communication, social systems and the intellectual aspirations of inter and trans-disciplinarity. It does not necessarily refer to a conjectured future where humans are extinct or otherwise absent from the Earth. As with other species who speciate from one another, both humans and posthumans could continue to exist.
Available at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posthuman
PosthumaNomad’s universe is defined by a new set time-frame regarded as I.N. (Infinitum Novae) where humans are becoming interfaced with the artificial and natural environment towards developing as homogeneous architectural and landscape hi-tech organisms. The posthumen become in control of matter and most of the existing conditions, thus the infinity time begins from 2145 towards ∞ regarded as infinite interval. The new breed has the ability to materialize unforeseeable future through parametric programming and reconstruct the past with dimensional travel to discover new horizons of existence in the present. Glitching space creates anomalies where unthinkable, unimaginable and unexpected things may occur. Overcoming death by those means, posthumen are capable of divine immortality combined in transposing intellectual matrix of existence from one matter to another.
0 B.C. (Before Christ) > A.D. (Anno Domini) > 2145 I.N. (Infinitum Novae) > ∞

Guess where the exact locations around the world are?
Barreleye Storm (Arlington), Dune Locust (Tule Valley), Desert Plains (Al-Kufrah), Jungle Rundown (Rondônia), Savannah Special (Malawi Lake), Nomad Nights (Arabīyyah al-Muttaḥidah), Energy Thunder (Heathrow Airport), Urban Nomad (Los Angeles River), Mission Walker (Apollo 18), Overlander (Rock Hall Gale Crater Rim)
How likely is for our planet to undergo an absolute change in its structure of natural events and conditions? Where is the big city with all its buildings and people in this scenario?
In an age of quickly advancing development and technological awareness the ability to discover new survival instruments increases. In order to overcome the hostile environment, humans learn how to escape disasters using the tools of science and art - engineering and architecture. Thus many settlements become mobile and energy harnessing even on other planets in our solar system.

Unit-based Portable Spaces (UbPS) Introduction:
The new ways of living will define a new paradigm and new types of architectures will emerge. The component-based, detachable, lightweight, flexible, transportable spaces of the post-human future. They are not just walking towers with plug-in units, they are N.O.M.A.D.s. These ( R )evolutionary mobile machines survive in the ( D )evolved from urbanization landscapes where we as species must continue to ( E )volve, interfaced with them! - R.D.E. 2020

POSTURM N.O.M.A.D. 2020 - walking building with a neural brain pilot control.
Excerpt from the N.O.M.A.D. Manifesto 2017:
Existing and never-ending is the ambition for technological revolution in the building environment. Innovations based on the latest technology are being implemented in every given aspect of architecture regardless of whether the aims are based on small or big scale. Being driven by a sense of total and absolute assurance of freedom on realizing what technology offers as being righteous is currently the norm for the architects, engineers and designers alike. What becomes even more imperative is that time such as this calls for fast decisions. The hi-tech allows this on many layers. When developing ways of connecting disciplines with ideas from theoretical or applied means it is necessary to do it pragmatically because of dealing with complicated data sets, hence technology is needed.

Post-Human N.O.M.A.D. 2019 - the initiation.
Excerpt from the N.O.M.A.D. Manifesto 2017:
The military has evolved so much that architecture did not keep up with them. It is not written about and not analyzed in the architectural design let alone implemented in any aspect of the urban fabric. All it took architecture to develop today and become mobile is missing what the capacity of an aircraft carrier manifests, LockHeed Martin VR fighter jet helmet’s capabilities augmenting and everything the platforms of BostonDynamics have to offer. It is not realized by the architects yet, because buildings are just looked at as buildings. Only in an online published interview by Thomas Markussen and Thomas Birch called Minding Houses with the visionary architect Marcos Novak in London on the topic of mobile conceptual architectural project is discussed - a future of architecture in relation to such technology: 'As architects integrate new technologies... what they are really designing are possibilities of experience... (technologies) are becoming experience.' (Novak, 2016).

Post-Human N.O.M.A.D. 2020 - prefabricated component-base mobile architecture controlled with human-machine interface system.
Mobile Cities of the Posthuman Future - Walking Skyscraper Tower Structural 3D model and development.
Continued: Neurological science has reached a level where prosthetic robotic limb can be controlled with brain electronic signals. It is not far to think that this soon may give birth to walking buildings piloted by our thought? Maybe in far future, innovations would have bound us with technology at such degree that the definition of the post-human would turn into a situation where people won’t need their natural human body anymore and will replace it with robotic extensions becoming humarchitectures! Who, then, will be the humarchitect of this future matrix of life?

Excerpt from the N.O.M.A.D. Manifesto 2017:
The core of post-human is the idea of human and architectural mobility. The argument is not to blur the boundary between vehicles as mobile spaces and mobile architectures as vehicles but to draw an exact dimension of their definitions. That is why it is crucial to analyze and understand the relationship between mobility and post-humanity. Architecture keeps with the pace at which humankind travels. Travel marks the progress of spaces. Huts were used for living when horses were used for travelling. Now, it is buildings and cars. Nomads were tribes of people who were migrating with their homes based on their needs and have always been associated with mobility. In an age where informatics advances are happening so fast we are in a way technological nomads. In both cases it is the need for the resource that is driving the first group to realise that the herd of animals needs a pasture for survival and the latter to realise the need of technology for instant access again for survival. Both realise that movement is life. The survival depends on discovery of technology before an imminent disaster. The speed is set by will power and the appreciation of the danger in time happens through the lenses of a single moment in a lifetime of a human being always governed by inseparable technology. Information has always been the ultimate tool, technology is the prosthetic limb that extended us in time.

R.D.E.
We predict the post-human as the time when something that will replace us comes - a time when technology and the organic will probably unify. The latter replaced by the mechanical.
The brain is the core controlling all the body functions which in turn feed it with life. The processes of both are so intertwined that our body cannot exist without our brain so do our brain cannot exist without our body. One without the other! It is not a matter about what the substitute for the brain is but something else.
The question is what will the relationship between us and architecture in deep future be ...
... Revolution, Devolution or Evolution?

The initial types of nomads with plan and elevation views.
Excerpt from the N.O.M.A.D. Manifesto 2017:
Mobility in all its forms, physical and in virtual reality, is inextricably bound with the concept of the post-human. Nomads used to be tribes whose survival depended on movement in search of food for their herds. Today, we are technological nomads obsessed with social technologies and virtual realities. If a prosthetic arm connected to the brain controlled by thought is possible now what about a building with limbs having such a pilot? This could be the future post-human nomad - an amalgamation of the human and the architecture.

3D Isometric projection views of the nomad equipment configurations.
Excerpt from the N.O.M.A.D. Manifesto 2017:
Humans are becoming more mobile because they are not only obsessed with communication but also with survival. Jonathan Hale starts his writing titled Architecture, Technology and the Body: From the Prehuman to the Post-human with a quote implying a technocracy in architecture 'A discussion of technology in architecture might usefully begin with a redefinition of ‘architecture as technology’ (Hale, J. 2011, p.513). Actually, the paradox is that the more we want to be mobile the more surrounded by technology we become and subsequently architecture is going to turn into pure technology of experience or experience of technology. What are the limits and possibilities?

Semi-technical black prints of nomad equipment and configurations. Order of views in the images clockwise as follows - top, front, side and back.
Excerpt from the N.O.M.A.D. Manifesto 2017:
We are driven by the fear of in-existence which is a fear of death. This is the main cause of technology to improve which determines our survival-ability. An era of drivalism* is where we have always been living. This existed, exists, is existing and will be existing. Instinctivism* or Survivalism* are just characteristics to the one above and they are all what frames our organisation of collective ability to cope with our changing environment. In other words, either science will continue its renewal on technology or if it does not we will disappear.
*drivalism – a time of social organization that is driven by stimuli from an instinct of survival depending on technology literally what drives all the living creatures is to seek tools towards survival-ability
*instinctivism – a sub-genre and quality of drivalism, the archetypal human characteristic often referred to as being the instincts
*survivalism – a sub-genre of instinctivism, the main human quality expressed within others relative to it such as love, hate, etc.
