The insecurity implied in that line breaks my heart for another reason being how much Iris loves Susato and how regretful she was when she came to know that Yujin wasn’t her father, which meant that Susato ‘couldn’t’ be her big sister
Susato, too, WANTED a sisterly relationship with Iris!!! But her feelings of self doubt and unworthiness always slip through the cracks!!!!

Iris and Susato are so important to me excuse my rambling but Susato would be the best big sister in the world. She already puts herself down so much and puts her skills in law above all else and thinks she’s a failure if she doesn’t meet certain expectations, she calls herself unworthy of practicing law even though her efforts saved Gina from condemnation at the end of the first game, she believes herself to be unworthy in so many aspects and and it makes me so sad to see that it extends to her not feeling good enough to be a good big sister for Iris
