My lungs are collapsing but the tent is still standing part 1
Hermione woke up with a start, something was wrong, her chest felt off.
She gasped involuntarily but it felt like she got no air into her lungs. She tried to draw a breath but her body wouldn't obey, she simply laid on her back, her head tilted sharply backwards and her mouth gaping like a fish on dry land.
Her diaphragm contracted violently and she sucked in an involuntary gulp, choking on her own spit but again no air reached her lungs.
Her saliva made her gag and she was thrown into an involuntary coughing fit that left her feeling light headed with lack of air.
She reflexively rolled to her side, trying to ease her breathing in any way she could. Her pulse was pounding in her head but it felt wrong, like the rhythm was incorrect, she swore she could feel her heart skip several beats before continuing.
She realized she was scared, she didn't know what was wrong and she felt trapped in her own body and she desperately didn't want to be alone.
Harry!
Harry was just outside the tent, if she could just call out to him he could help her.
"Ha-huh-harrr hah-rrrrryyyyy." She gasped but her voice barely reached her ears, there was no way Harry would hear her.
Okay think!
She couldn't call out so she'd have to get his attention some other way.
When she rolled to her side she'd rolled to face the canvas wall, she tried to turn herself over so she was facing the room. But no matter how hard she tried she couldn't even roll onto her back let alone all the way to her other side. She clawed at the canvas, the only thing within reach.
She needed something to make noise with!
But there was nothing within reach, she wanted to sob but of course she didn't have the breath for it.
Was this how she died?
Not killed by Voldermort or a Death Eater but dying alone with only some canvas and a few feet between her and help.
She swore she felt her heart stop, finally giving out due to the lack of air, any second now her brain would follow. As she closed her eyes and drifted away her last thought was that Harry would find her body when he came to wake her for her watch.

A dip in the harbor part 2
Jinora had seen Asami's plane go down, she swerved to fly after it to retrieve her friend from the water.
"No!"
Her father barked at her at the same time she heard Korra scream the same word desperately.
"Let Korra get her, she'll be of much more help in the water than you'll manage."
Jinora wanted to protest, as the only other air support they'd been supposed to look out for Asami just like any of their fellow airbenders. But she knew rationally that Korra had a better chance of fishing Asami out than herself. She changed course to help Korra with her opponents so she could go after Asami when her father yelled at her again.
"No Jinora! Let Korra handle it, you'll get in the way and only hinder her."
Jinora opened her mouth to argue when she felt a surge of power, she watched as Korra entered the Avatar State and flicked her opponents away like they were mere bumbleants. She turned to her father, his gaze was locked on Korra until she disappeared into the water, she saw him let out a sigh.
"We have a job to do Jinora, our people on the ground depend on us to watch the sky so they can concentrate on the ground conflict without worry of a surprise attack from above."
"But we were supposed to watch Asami's back too." She protested.
The plane wasn't nearly as nimble in the air as them so Asami relied on them to guard her flanks and they had failed.
"I know." Her father said, "I wasn't expecting them to have nearly as many air combatants as they had. That is a failing on my part."
That was an understatement, they didn't expect their opponents to have any planes at all, just airships. So the airbenders had quickly been scattered when the planes flew straight at their formation. Asami had circled above them to come up behind the other planes and managed to take two down causing the other planes to turn their attention to her. While the airbenders were agile in the air the planes had them beat in raw speed and before they could regroup and pursue, the other planes had shot Asami down.
"But now we have to trust in Korra that she can retrieve her and concentrate on our task. It will be hard but if we want to avoid more casualties on our side that is what we must do." Her father continued.
She followed after her father but kept her gaze on the harbor nervously until she saw Korra burst out of the water and head for shore, with a form clasped tightly in her arms.
She got her. She got her. Jinora told herself and returned her focus to their own battle.
A while later, Jinora couldn't tell how much time had passed when she felt a surge of raw despair and several of her spirit friends appeared and flitted around her nervously. They told her what she had already guessed, the Avatar was distressed.
"Kai!" She shouted and her boyfriend turned and flew towards her. "I need to check on Korra!"
He nodded at her. "Gotcha! Don't worry I got you, go!" He said as he flew under her and she locked her arms around his neck before resting on his back and let her spirit untether from her body.
In a blink she appeared by Korra at the docks. She was momentarily stumped by what she saw, Asami laid sprawled on the ground, her jacket torn open exposing her chest. Korra was bent over her, their lips locked tight with tears streaming down her cheeks.
Why on earth was Korra kissing Asami now of all times?
It seemed like the last thing they should be doing, especially since Asami didn't seem to be awake to reciprocate the gesture. Korra pulled away and gasped before diving back down and that's when Jinora saw Asami's chest rise. Rise with Korra's breath.
This was bad. Really, really bad. Her father had to get over here now! Probably auntie Kya too.
She blinked and she was back on Kai's back, she patted him on the chest before letting go with her hands.
"Dive please."
She said and he flew out from under her as she let the wind carry her again. She heard him inhale as if he was about to say something but cut him off.
"Not now, I don't have time, I have to get dad!" She shouted as she sped away, Kai's worried gaze following her.
She flew up beside her father. "Dad! You have to get to Korra now!" She shouted, "Something is really wrong, Asami isn't breathing!"
"Are you sure?!" He turned his worried gaze to her.
"Yes! I felt this horrible despair course through the spirit energy and Furryfoot and some others appeared and said Korra was really upset. So I projected over there and she was kissing Asami but she wasn't actually kissing her. She was breathing for her and crying."
Jinora sobbed, finally losing her composure now that she was with her dad and could let him handle it. There was only so much pressure a fourteen year old could take, how her grandparents had managed with a century long war resting on their shoulders she had no idea.
His eyes widened. "Get your aunt!" Was all he said as he flew to the docks.
Ikki and Meelo looked at her worriedly.
"I have to find Aunt Kya!" She told them, her siblings nodded and each took one of her hands in their own and tandem flew with her between them. She closed her eyes and let herself fall away again.
When she opened them again she was on the United Forces flagship, she saw her aunt next to General Iroh.
"Aunt Kya!" She shouted as she ran towards them, passing through people and supplies.
"Jinora? What's wrong?" Her aunt turned to her.
"You have to get to shore! Asami's plane crashed and Korra needs your help tending to her!"
"I didn't know we had any planes in the battle." General Iroh said.
"Only Asami." Kya said, "I've kept my attention in the water, I saw several planes fall but didn't get a close enough look, I just assumed- I never thought- Jinora where is she?!"
"At the docks, I'll show you but we have to go now!" She cried desperately.
Kya turned to Iroh who gave her a sharp nod.
"Go, we have things well in hand here. Take care of Miss Sato, this fleet still owes her and Bolin a great debt. They're the only reason I still have a fleet, if they hadn’t helped me take out the Equalists airfield I don't want to think about how many of my soldiers would have been lost."
Kya's gaze hardened with determination and she jumped off the ship. Jinora followed, guiding her to the right dock. When they arrived Tenzin was already there, he was trying to calm a panicking Korra.
"Korra, you need to calm down and take a deep breath." He said calmly.
"No Tenzin! Do you know who needs to take a breath?! Asami! She hasn't taken one since she hit the water!"
"I know and I'll help her but for me to do that you need to calm down." He replied in his stern mentor voice that Korra was all too used to.
Korra panted as she leaned away from Asami to give Tenzin access. He positioned himself above Asami's head and lifted it into his lap, he tilted her head back holding it in place with one hand while he moved the other from her mouth and nose down to her chest and up again in a waving motion in a steady rhythm. Asami's chest rose and fell with the artificial respiration.
"How long since she stopped breathing?" Kya asked as she brusquely stepped forward.
"I don't know, ten minutes maybe? Since her plane fell." Korra stammered, "Kya, I couldn't find a heartbeat either when I found her." She continued in a scared voice.
Kya's head snapped to her. "She's been without breath or a pulse for at least ten minutes?!" She asked.
When Korra only nodded she cursed and threw herself to the ground opposite Korra. Her hands glowed with healing water as she placed them on Asami's chest. The longer Kya held them there the more her brow furrowed.
"Tenzin, I have to get her blood circulating, I can't do that when her chest is expanded with air, I'm going to need you to breathe for her whenever I tell you but not in between. Do you understand?" She asked her younger brother.
He gave her a nod and his hand ceased its up and downwards motion. Kya began pressing down on Asami's chest in a much more controlled way than Korra had.
"Breathe." She ordered her brother between even intervals and he gave the non-bender a breath. For several minutes brother and sister continued this procedure.
After a while Kya said "This isn't working. There's nothing physically wrong with her for me to heal." She nodded at her interlocked hands glowing on the engineer's chest.
Korra whimpered.
"But you know something else to try right? I mean Katara's your mom, the greatest healer in the world." She pleaded.
Kya sighed. "I have one idea mom's told me about but I've never tried it or seen it done myself. We're going to need a lightning bender."

A dip in the harbor part 1
Korra saw the plane crash into the harbor. "NO!" She shouted, she had to get over there.
Now!
But she was surrounded in the middle of a brawl, their adversaries had been smart to separate her from her allies so they could overrun her with numbers.
But in doing so they had shot themselves in the foot for now Korra could unleash all her power without fear of hitting her own side.
She had no time nor was inclined to be gentle, that had been her girlfriend piloting that plane and Korra wasn't about to leave her without aid for a second longer than necessary.
Her eyes glowed as she felt power surge through her, she still missed the guiding presence of the previous Avatars but the raw force that was Raava gave her all the confidence she needed.
Her opponents faltered and she used their distraction to create a whirlwind around them and soon they were all engulfed in it. She had chosen air since there had been no air benders among them so they were completely at the element's and her mercy.
She should have had more concern of where she flung them, like a responsible Avatar but they stood between her and her girlfriend so right now she couldn't care less where they landed.
Their side had certainly not been concerned with where they shot down Asami's plane.
Her foes taken care of she dived into the water. She summoned the current to her bidding and had it bring her to where the plane had hit the water.
She swam deeper but could see no trace of it, where had it gone? Surely the current couldn't have taken it that far? She pushed pulses of the current away from herself and could feel it hitting resistance in one direction.
Bingo!
She jetted through the water and soon she could make out the shape of the plane.
As she got to the cockpit she found Asami slumped over the console. She quickly created an air bubble around her girlfriend's head and put her hands under her armpits to pull her out. But as she tugged she met resistance, her girlfriend was still buckled to the seat. In frustration she superheated her hand and tore through the restraints like tissue paper.
But as she tugged again Asami still wouldn't come loose, her legs were trapped by the console. Most of it wasn't metal so Korra couldn't simply tear it away so again she used the current and water pressure to her advantage. It caused the plane to groan as its different parts were forced apart by the pressure, with a tearing noise the nose of the plane was jettisoned into the deep.
She secured her arms around Asami, pressing her close to her chest as she propelled to the surface at incredible speed. At the surface it only took them a blink before they were at the dock.
As Korra stretched Asami out on the ground her eyes returned to their natural blue, the Avatar State taking most of her courage with it as it leaked away.
She looked down at her girlfriend but most of her face was obscured by her aviator helmet, goggles and scarf. She unclasped the strap to the helmet and none too gently ripped it and the goggles off before tossing them aside, she was sure Asami would chew her out for that later.
Her girlfriend's hair cascaded down her shoulders, how Asami fit all of it inside the helmet Korra had no idea.
She lifted her head so she could unwind the scarf from around her neck and toss it aside too. Asami's head lolled limply in her hand and Korra tried not to let it panic her. When the scarf was off she laid her girlfriend back down carefully and bent over her.
Most of her make up had been smeared out or washed off, leaving her closed eyes looking bruised with the remnants of her purple eye shadow.
"Asami?" Korra asked as she bent low over the engineer's face. No reaction whatsoever. She closed her eyes as she hovered over Asami's face as if she was leaning in for a kiss and waited.
Nothing.
No puff of air met her face like when she'd manage to get Asami to huff a laugh by saying something silly when they broke a kiss for air. Korra could practically feel her blood turn to ice in her veins.
With barely any thought she summoned all the water off of her girlfriend and herself leaving them as dry as if they hadn’t just taken a dip in the harbor.
It surrounded her hands and began to glow. She pressed her hands to her girlfriend's face and neck and concentrated. No rythmic pulsing met her, no movement of blood through the veins and arteries.
She pulled down the zipper to Asami's jacket and tore her undershirt apart. The bra had the clasp on the back so without a second thought Korra tore it apart too, leaving her girlfriend's bare chest exposed to the air.
She put both hands on her chest and concentrated on finding anything but the chest was still under her hands. Even when she dug deeper into the layers of tissue with her healing probe still she felt nothing until she came to the lungs. The healing water around her hands sensed all the water in the lungs.
She tilted Asami's head back and opened her mouth while hovering one hand over it and pulled. A stream of water flowed out of Asami's mouth and gathered into a blob under Korra's hand, she flung it away.
Coming from the Southern Water Tribe Korra was no stranger to drownings. Learning what to do for a drowning victim was one of the first things young water benders learned.
Korra plugged Asami's nose and pressed their lips together and exhaled. It felt nothing like when they kissed, Asami's lips were cold and pliant under hers, nothing like the warm domineering lips she was used to. Korra could feel tears prick at the corner of her eyes and shut them tight and breathed for her girlfriend again.
She straightened up and summoned water back to her hands before placing them one on top of the other on Asami's chest and interlocked her fingers. She started pressing down in a rhythmic pattern.
She'd been taught that she couldn't be gentle but had to use bruising force, cracked ribs and bruised flesh could always be healed later but a stopped heart could not.
Her girlfriend jostled under her hands, Korra's harsh ministrations seemed so out of place on Asami's delicate and flawless skin. Korra knew Asami was neither weak nor frail but still it felt wrong to treat her so roughly.
Korra, who was covered in scars and other imperfections from all her battles, often wondered how Asami, who had been in nearly as many, didn't have a single trace from all her battles on her body.
Every time she pressed down on her girlfriend's chest she concentrated all her healing energy on the still heart begging it to beat again.
When she went to breathe for her girlfriend again she took a mouthful of water and when she exhaled blew the healing mist into Asami's lungs praying it would do something but after two breaths Asami still showed no sign of breathing on her own. Korra fought against the sob building in her throat as she went back to coaxing the heart to beat.
She repeated the cycle over and over with no change in Asami, as the seconds turned into minutes she could feel despair threatening to overtake her.

Sooo, I've chosen a fic and started editing it but as I currently don't have a computer I write on my phone and I'm using Samsung Notes (I like the formating) but it doesn't have spell or grammar check and looking up every word individually is fuqing exhausting. So I'm wondering what programs other people are using when you write.

So I've been waffling about on what should be the first fic I post and I keep changing my mind. I don't currently have any fic I'd consider completly 'done'. I'd say several are one-shots that I have some ideas about continuations for but they could just as well be considered done as they are now. Then a few others are larger fics where several scenes or chapters if you will are written but they haven't really come to a conclusion yet and then a bunch are alternate endings/different scenarios of the same fic (I have one fic where it's the same scene but written from four different characters perspective). Every fic needs some polishing of the grammar and how the sentences flow but I hope to have something posted in a few days tops.

So it seems our community has a holiday. June 1-June 7 is CPR/AED Awareness Week. In honor of uuuuuuhhh...spreading awareness, a bunch of cool people like @saphicresus @undeadandlovingit @chokingcpr and @blog-o-suffer helped put these daily prompts together The prompts span the whole month because i forgot cpr awareness was only a week long and went overboard and now here we are. If you want to join in you can draw/write/share a thought related to any of the prompts of any day of the month. Just thought it would be a fun thing to do! :) Edit: If you do any of the prompts, maybe add a tag like #cprawarenessprompt so we can see them?

So I've been facinated by resus for as long as I can remember but only found out there was a resus community a couple of years ago. Until now I've been a lurker in the community on my main but I wanted to be able to reblog and post stuff so I made this account. Currently I'm into writing and for now it's only fanfiction but I hope to do some original writing in the future.
What finally got me brave enough to post on this account was @dreamresus post of the promps and I saw several of my WIPs checked several of the promps so if people are interested I could polish up some of my favorite WIPs and post them if I feel brave enough.

Green - stuff that the fic is about/feature heavily in the fic.
Red - currently no WIPs of this prompt but can change if inspiration strikes.
Orange - is in the fic but isn't the focus or only features briefly.
Pink - "So what I told you was true, from a certain point of view." You could say it fits the prompt but you could also say it doesn't. I.e I wasn't sure wether to count it or not.
