the more i hurt,
the more i feel myself become like you
and it scares me so badly
because i never wanted to end up like you
to be someone like you
who is reckless with the feelings of others
who is so hard to reach
who can’t accept love
& this understanding makes it so much worse
something you can’t comprehend in naivety
when you see the world through the stories
you absorbed as a kid
and i now know why i was never enough
nothing is big enough to fill this hole
the one created when you realize none of it was ever
real
just a wish made in ignorance
so what does one do?
have you figured it out yet?
and if you do, will you find me one day, and tell me
how to fix it?
