Frodo was able to resist the ring at the very end because he had so much love and joy buried deep in him. He loved Sam. He loved Merry and Pippin. He loved Aragorn. He loved Gandalf. He loved Legolas and Gimli. He loved the Shire, and the vast greens of its grass, and all the plants, and the Green Dragon, and Bilbo, and spending time with his friends, and reading, and just living. That is the opposite of what the ring wants. It darkens Frodo, but at the very end, he fights for who he truly is. Don’t talk to me. I’m going to cry.

lord of the rings + favorite female character • ÉOWYN → requested by @lovelythingsn ♡
“But no living man am I! You look upon a woman. Éowyn I am, Éomund’s daughter. You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.”

“When something bothered me, I didn’t talk with anyone about it. I thought it over all by myself, came to a conclusion, and took action alone. Not that I really felt lonely. I thought that’s just the way things are. Human beings, in the final analysis, have to survive on their own.”
