ok i finally have Some substance to this rewrite. more info under cut

prefacing this by saying everything in the precursor legacy is staying! im not rewriting the first game at all. im only changing things for the second and third games. jak x does not exist also goodbye

so here are the major changes im gonna make to 2 and 3:

1) no time travel. i know that was a huge element in jak 2 but i felt after some thought that the shift from the world being some cool jungley fantasy place to some wack industrial prison city was just..too much LOL. so yeah 2 and 3 will take place at some point in the same timeline as tpl, albeit skipped forward just a few years

2) praxis is not jak's main enemy anymore! in fact….im bringing back gol! i felt like gol being COMPLETELY forgotten about was kinda silly, especially since he was the fucking dark eco sage. in fact i think all the sages but samos being forgotten was silly, seeing as how the world literally revolves around eco and all that yknow? but yeah anyway gol is responsible for giving jak his dark powers in this one

3) i figure torn can still be a thing, just like…in the context of he's part of the rebellion against gol now? i think gol managed to come back somehow (will figure that out later) and took over the world with lurkers and dark eco. maybe he did succeed in opening the silos, who knows yet! but yeah the rebellion can be against gol now

4) damas exists and im still trying to figure out why he got separated from jak but we'll figure that out surely. i think he can still be out in some desert somewhere, i really dont think its impossible for there to be a fucking desert in tpl context LOL. theres a whole world out there! but yeah maybe he was protecting jak by giving him up to be taken care of by samos, while he went off elsewhere in search of answers to..something. idk. no clue actually. again we'll figure that out later

5) what to do about mar…maybe jak's real name is still mar, named by damas, but he grew up knowing his name as jak as part of the "protection" thing? in this case i dont know if it would make sense for jak/mar to be responsible for all the monoliths and technology that we see in 2 and 3; i think we can just chalk that up to the precursors' doing.

6) light jak is still a thing used to counter dark jak! he probably somehow obtains light eco (like we saw at the end of tpl) and absorbs it in order to keep the dark eco in his body at bay. eventually after absorbing enough of it, it counteracts the dark eco and brings balance to his body to where he can master both dark and light eco possession i guess!

7) daxter is not a fucking perv in this one <3 thank you
