hey! i started replaying pla the other day and i remembered this account existed and wanted to pop on. i kind of got off on a weird foot here since i was unmedicated while setting it up so i was unable to focus on anything and generally just felt Off and Bad, but i do genuinely love pearl and adore the story and world of pla, so i would really like to fully establish this blog, probably at very low activity but i want to develop pearl more and keep her alive.

in other news, it's been so long since i last logged on that i now appear to have three permanent notifications. i cannot see what they are, and they will not go away lmao

Pearl spun around at the voice, body wracked with one last shiver. The cold was sharp, cutting through even the fur of her snow jacket.

"No, I... I just got here." That wasn't strictly true. She'd been running around for a while before she stopped to take a break and gave the cold a chance to really catch up to her.

"But, um... what are you doing out here?" Pearl didn't run into many people while out exploring in general, and certainly not this far out. Was everything all right?

She nodded, head tilting down as her gaze fell. It stung, being shut down so quickly, but she forced herself to swallow the hurt.

After all, what did she expect? For things to pick up where they left off, like nothing happened? It was foolish, but maybe that was what she had been hoping for. That maybe, she wouldn't have to say anything at all. He normally did most of the talking, anyhow.

Quietly, Pearl took a seat on the ground beside Volo, a couple feet away. There was no use overthinking this. She found him; for now, she had time.

Volo's eye ventured up, far away from both Pearl and the campfire he'd set up out here. A meeting of chance; an accidental beacon he'd set up for himself... Despite everything, at least his visitor had been her. Had it been the Miss Fortunes instead, who knew what would have happened?

His Lucario offered a glance from across the fire; lightly roasting two mushrooms at the ends of sticks.

"Surviving, I suppose." The dull ache in his chest reminded him of that much. "Any more than that, I daresay is none of your concern." It was best, perhaps, if he didn't try to unduly worry her-- It was best if he didn't let her laugh at yet another failure in his everlasting string of failures.
