Hey guys! So school and the holidays have had me in an absolute chokehold over the past several weeks and ive been working on the Culinary AU when i could. Boromir Lives AU: High Uncle of the White Tower

A follow-up to It's a BABY

First, as so many folks have pointed out, the baby's name, with the boron root, meaning "steadfast, trusty, enduring;" ergo Boromir: "steadfast jewel" and Elboron: "steadfast/enduring star." I love this as a memorial in canon, but we ain't in canon here and I get to make it an honorarium instead because I am drunk with power.

I saw a post saying that Boromir looked too scruffy in FotR for a Captain of Gondor, and I tried to move on, but I’m hyperfixating. Has anyone ever solo backpacked? I have. By the end, not only did I look like shit, but by day two I was talking to myself. On another occasion I did fourteen days’ backcountry as the lone woman in a group of twelve men, no showers, no deodorant, and brother, by the end of that we were all EXTREMELY feral. You think we looked like heirs to the throne of anywhere? We were thirteen wolverines in ripstop.

My boy Boromir? Spent FOUR MONTHS in the wilderness! Alone! No roads! High floods! His horse died! I’m amazed he showed up to Imladris wearing clothes, let alone with a decent haircut. I’m fully convinced that he left Gondor looking like Richard Sharpe being presented to the Prince Regent in 1813

iwaizumi hajime can skateboard. matsukawa issei cannot.

this is a point of contention between them bc issei thinks it fits his aesthetic and hajime is a “fuckin loser”. iwaizumi raises one slit eyebrow wearing torn double knee pants tattered nike dunks one elbow and one hand bleeding drops his godzilla board (with one yellow wheel) skates away. issei groans he has tried and failed spectacularly and is too lazy to really put energy into it but he’s still mad. tooru rides by on his bike no hands double-flips off matsukawa where is he going he doesn’t look back . issei can ride a scooter and that’s it unfuckingbelieveable he’ll have to make it a bit or something his ankles hurt already just thinking about it. hanamaki can roller skate it makes him taller and is faster than walking w minimal energy he skates backwards talking to issei while he’s walking looks down condescendingly. matsukawa doesn’t even wanna be the next tony hawk just wants to be able to ride his board to school or the store or whatever but noooo he so much as looks at a skateboard and trips. he settles for sitting at the skatepark with his mismatched socks watching hajime hoping he hits a rock and eats shit and wishing death upon tooru bc they are a package deal.

radio call-in show was doing a thing about renters and landlords in my province and ofc it was mostly landlords calling in cuz they have more free time. but the renters that called in were like. one was a lady in her 60s saying she has no retirement fund and her and her husband will be working into their 70s and that rent just goes up and there's nothing they can do about it on the verge of tears. and ppl calling in and saying they've been renovicted they've been homeless and couch surfing and sleeping in their cars and not sure where they're gonna sleep or how they're gonna afford food and how all the universities in the city have food banks for the students now when they didn't before. and the landlords calling in were talking about stuff like. equity. idk just the tonal whiplash of a woman being on the verge of tears with nowhere to go and working minimum wage fulltime and it doesn't even cover rent then the next lady is stressed about her. equities. and how they only wanna do short term rentals for students. one landlord compared rent going up to a store that sold shirts raising their prices, as if that's in anyway comparable, and basically said she's a business not a social resource. if you don't want to be a social resource mayhaps do not occupy a basic social need such as shelter. host did not challenge that statement. so soulless and genuinely disturbing to me. imagine being able to live like that. dear god. over $2000 for a one bedroom utilities not included and landlords getting mad when more than one person is stuffed into their stupid expensive 1 bedroom apartment as if anyone is happy about this situation. drove me crazy the way it was presented like Both Sides Have a Point as if Equities are just as important as Sleeping in your Car. i do feel this sense of inertia the last few years of okay something's gotta give now something's gotta give we're gonna hit the brick wall any second now but it just keeps going on like this.....
