More speculation about Karakasa and the Medicine Sellers:
I think Kon Kusu must be the one to talk about the swords and the 64 hexagrams specifically because Karakasa is about identity. As I wrote about before, the supposed highest consciousness is "no self," and I'm guessing that this idea is symbolized by the Ooku's efforts to erase women's identities in service to a "higher power."
By the same distorted interpretation of "no self," beings like the Medicine Sellers, who are closer to enlightenment, would be assumed to have no idea of who or what they are as individuals.
Kon Kusu challenges that assumption by doing what Ri Kusu never did—he tells people who he is. Not only does he assert an identity, he asserts an identity as a higher power or divine being. In an environment that sanctifies the erasure of identity, he's a direct contradiction to their beliefs.
Ri Kusu being on the opposite side of the self/no self duality, he probably doesn't take any more interest in his own identity than he does in those of humans. In fact, he probably takes less.
Do not speak to or perceive him.
It likely never occurred to Ri Kusu to tell anyone about himself, his sword, or his 63 cousins. But Kon Kusu, according to Nakamura himself, is interested in people. He probably wants to connect with their identities, so he shares his own with them.
