Not really. It is been proven personnality traits can be genetic too. My nephew never knew his father I was the one who raises him yet he acts like his father. Luke or Leia don't share any traits with their foster carers, if something like that can happen in real life so it is possible in fiction. Not saying caregiving does not matter but a part of Anakin and Padmé is always there.
You know what? I think Luke doesn’t have too much of his father in him- he has too much of his mother. The drive to do what is right, to serve something greater than yourself, the compassion and belief he has in Vader (not saying Anakin wasn’t compassionate but his is more closely related to Padme) the fashion sense. I think while Luke looks his father, it’s Leia who is too much like Anakin. Leia is the anger, the fire burning the Empire down, the never ending ambition to do what is right.
I think Anakin and Padmé had many similar characteristics, and how people see these characters influence what they see in their children.I mean, people usually associate Anakin with Leia’s recklessness and Padmé withLuke’s softness but, if we look at it closely, Padmé was as reckless as Anakinand Anakin was a kind and caring as her. Personality-wise, I believe Leia’spersonality is similar to Anakin’s and Luke’s to Padmé but, to be honest, I don’tbelieve that’s genetic issue. They both inherited something of their biologicalparents but how Luke and Leia turned out says more about how they were raised(and by whom) than it says about Anakin and Padmé. I believe it’s more a coincidence(for storytelling purposes) than a case of genetic inheritance.
