5 Features Your Meeting Rooms Should Have in 2019
Tying It All together while selecting the best meeting room system for your business, it’s critical to assess how the features of each solution collectively address the needs of your business. These five features—as well as any other features should be paramount to your consideration process. If you’d like to experience the simplicity of Prijector Meeting Room System, get a free trial system today by sending us an email at [email protected].
The struggle often begins with the search, where IT and Business professionals are unable to determine which features are nice-to-haves and which are must-haves. By prioritizing industry-specific requirements, while looking for solutions that eliminate existing bottlenecks within the organization, it’s easier to pinpoint exactly what to look for when evaluating a new meeting room system.
To help you along in your journey, we’re sharing Five must-haves when it comes to enterprise meeting room systems.
1. Plug-and-Play Installation
Ease of installation remains a main consideration for many buyers, as it is the first hurdle to overcome when deploying a new meeting room system.
With plug-and-play meeting room devices, the process of deployment is simple.
All it needs, are these Three.
- HDMI Connection to TV or Projector
- Power Supply
- Simple Connection to your WIFI System or Ethernet for Connectivity
2. Centralized Management
IT and Business professionals have spent much of the last decade dealing with hodgepodge, and hardware only systems that cannot be managed on a single platform or login; however, bringing all meeting room functions into a single interface has become a marching order for nearly all IT departments.
Just as convenience and accessibility have become the standard for modern software, technology professionals expect the same level of intuitiveness for their Meeting Room Systems.
Managing Meeting Room on one platform also allows stakeholders to keep track of systemwide activities. Whether it’s a matter of compliance, internal control, or simply peace of mind, organizations should allow admins’ complete visibility into the usage of their systems.
Tumblr media
3. Built-in Safety Features
Beyond improving just physical security, by having built-in security features (such as single-sign-on or two-factor authentication), locking devices, controlling updates, teams are provided with an added layer of confidence about individual meeting rooms are not “screenjacked” or prevent unauthorized accesses to their centralized management system.
Tumblr media
4. Digital Signage and Customisation
While many systems offer basic connectivity, the ability to customize the screen to show your brand pictures, brand messages, videos and even having logos displayed on the meeting room tv screen is very important.
5. Smart Features & Alerts
Ability to add applications, manage users, see when the device was online last, configure them remotely are features that are super important. Notifications that immediately alert stakeholders of unusual activities are killer features that every meeting room should have.
Tying It All Together
When it comes to selecting the best meeting room system for your business, it’s absolutely essential to assess how the features of each solution collectively address the needs of your business. Addressing these Five features and applying each specifically to your industrial needs can bring a drastic change in your business routine, which should be considered predominantly.

Introducing mCloud - The Meeting Room IOT Platform
Tumblr media
It is estimated that approximately 12 minutes are wasted when people try connecting laptops to projectors or TVs in meeting rooms.
It is estimated that 15% of an organization’s collective time is spent in meetings. Imagine all the time wasted in your organization when meetings don't begin on time and the productivity loss associated with it.
We spent the last two years building Prijector - A meeting room in a box. As we kept building Prijector, we realised the challenge was not just offering features like wireless presentations, guest internet access, and video conferencing apps.
The challenge is the legacy infrastructure in the meeting rooms like the screen or the Projector that Prijector is connected to, the existing video conferencing equipment that is in the meeting room, the internet connection that is in the meeting room, multiple remote controls that are in the meeting rooms. Each one of these equipment can break down or work intermittently causing delays.
We designed Prijector Plus our new hardware as a hub that connects to screens (TVs or Projectors), external video conferencing equipment and corporate networks.
The Prijector Plus Hub then connects to mCloud, putting all meeting room equipment into a Singular Central Dashboard. If a meeting attendee has any issues getting a meeting started they can seek help by clicking a button on Prijector. Prijector notifies the available admin who can resolve the problem without having to physically come to the meeting room.
Launching mCloud Video:
youtube
The mCloud is a scalable cloud-based service controller that allows managers who manage meeting rooms to troubleshoot any issues meeting attendees encounter in meeting rooms. This includes switching modes between HDMI Sources during presentations and video conferencing, managing guest WIFI connectivity in meeting rooms, locking meeting room screens to protect on going meetings, controlling volume of the video conferencing equipment, managing Prijector Plus devices with latest updates, customizing screens with marketing messages on the TV screen in the meeting rooms, and more.
mCloud will be available to users from 27th of June. This is just the beginning of our exciting journey of putting each meeting room on the cloud.

Prijector Launches Prijector MMX , A Windows Application for Better Audio & Video Streaming on Prijector.
Tumblr media
When we started Prijector 2 years ago our goal was to make wireless screen sharing possible in meeting rooms. One of the challenges we wanted to solve was when users wanted to share a video through Prijector on TV and Projector Screens.
So we built our first version of video screen sharing support called auto sensing. Auto Sensing identifies a video when played (youtube or native video) and sends the stream as a video. This enabled us to stream 1080p and even 4k videos.
Auto Sensing worked well but one of the cases we had not handled well was if a presentation had a video embedded in it. This is a common feature requested by our educational customers. They wanted us to support it. They wanted a seamless experience.
After working hard on this feature we are pushing a new release today called Prijector MMX for windows platform. This will take the screen that is shared as a video stream with audio automatically. So your videos plays perfectly with sound on Prijector even if the video is embedded into a Slide Deck. The app is still in BETA and will be eventually be integrated into a single Prijector Laptop App. A video below shows how this technology works when you share from Youtube!

Prijector – An Interactive solution for Educational sectors
Setting up presentations in a classroom is always a tough job. It requires facing inevitable challenges with setting up the projector and struggling around with cables to establish a connection.  A teaching session is always intended towards a quality knowledge transfer to pupils. In an educational institution, where every subject is assigned for a classroom which is precisely scheduled, the time becomes a constraint. The importance of covering the required portion of the syllabus within this time frame is noteworthy. It takes more than 10 minutes just to set up a projector. The question is, how  far can we afford to spare these 10 minutes out of a 60 minute class session? How will the teaching become productive when setting up of presentation is itself taking so much  time? The new generation education system believes  in a highly interactive method of teaching where students are given a fair chance to explain their projects and ideas by the means of a presentation on a big screen, with the help of a projector.
Tumblr media
The institutions which believe in an interactive method of  teaching are proven to be more productive. A classroom where there is little or less facility for the student to share his or her content with everyone present, is less likely to be innovative and remains conventional. Here, the interaction between the teachers and students will be obviously less. This in turn impacts on the productivity.
Presentations in the classroom get started with plugging and unplugging of numerous wires. The most common problems encountered by teachers and students while setting up a presentation in the classroom are; tripping over cables, confusion with the wires or  dealing with adapters which are not compatible with all  devices, which is indeed time consuming. Can we really make it out of this fated situation? In a most common classroom scenario, the students will be witnessing a demonstration or a presentation from a single presenter, who will apparently be a teacher, who has his or her PC connected to a projector.  Let’s say I want to present from my own device where I have stored the content. Is it possible to share that content with everyone in the classroom? If it is, then how? There will be a number of students in a classroom using different types of devices. What if they want to present their ideas? Is there any solution which allows to share screen from their respective devices, which is compatible with all these different gadgets? If this happens then it would be the most interactive method of teaching that a class can  achieve.
Meet Prijector -- Prijector is one such solution which contributes to a flawless wireless presentation experience. Prijector is a slick and powerful device which directly connects to your Television or to any other Projector. It enables one to instantly share their full-screen and present wirelessly from Windows, Linux, Mac, iOS, iPad, Android, Windows Phone and Blackberry Devices.
Tumblr media
Prijector transforms a conventional meeting room into a full fledged  Video conferencing room. Tumblr media

The time saved by the teachers in setting the presentation can be well utilized to widen their scope of teaching. Student gathering sessions and similar use cases are now simple with the Prijector. Wireless screen sharing impacting conference and meeting rooms.
Not long ago, conference and meeting room infrastructure consisted of projectors, screens, large screen televisions and wires.
This is slowly changing.
Wireless screen sharing to make presentations is now in vogue.
Wireless Projectors:
Wireless Projectors like Epson use a 802.11a/b/g wireless PCMCIA card or module that enable Mac or Pc users to share the computer screen, documents, PowerPoint and Apple Keynote presentations in real-time.
The projector has 3000 lumens of color brightness and 3000 lumens of white brightness. Lamp life is also a factor to be considered before purchsing.
If you are building a new conference setup, this device, priced at $600 is an option.
Digital Media Players:
This is a market that has targeted the consumer in a big way & has seen growth that has led to many companies building them.
These have smaller form factors and connect to televisions having a HDMI port.
Many companies today have a widescreen television at conference and meeting rooms to which devices like Apple TV, Chromecast is connected and file sharing helps users make presentations.
A user cannot share his entire screen but specific files only.
Devices in this category include Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, Android TV, Now TV (UK), and Chromecast.
Security is also a challenge since these devices are targeted for the consumer market but are being used in a corporate offices.
The price range starts from $30 to $125.
Wireless Screen Sharing Devices ( using WiFi Direct ):
Miracast is one of the popular devices that use WiFi Direct to mirror the screen. Only devices that support WiFi direct can use Miracast.
For devices that do not support Miracast, adapters are available that help complete the connection.
Miracast support is built into only Android, Blackberry, Windows 8.1.
An adapter cost ranges from $20 to $60.
Wireless Screen Sharing using WiFi :
Using WiFi to share content is the easiest way to make presentations. Amongst the devices in the market, Prijector fits the bill.
It connects to any Television or Projector via HDMI or VGA and users can share their full screen. This allows users to share any content and demo apps.
It also allows users to share Youtube links or local media files. Security options have been incorporated to cater to networks.
For users having an existing projector or television, Prijector is an option to explore amongst other devices.
The device is priced at $149

Ira 2.0 release notes
We want to announce our new update IRA 2.0
Later this week, we will get 20 of our beta customers on this new update.
This is a big update for us and we are excited at the pace at which we are building the product.  One thing I learnt from a good friend is to take time off after big releases like these, and write why we built the new features.
If you remember when we started we launched two modes :
- Guest Mode (Local SSID Mode)
- Intranet Mode (Intra Network Mode)
We thought long, and hard on supporting the internet mode, which meant we had to bridge "Off-Premise" and "On-Premise" participants in a single meeting.
The best way to bridge "off-premise" and "on-premise" meetings is starting with video conferencing. Prijector now runs Skype, Cisco Webex, Google Video Chat, Microsoft Lync.
Kindly find more details on Ira 2.0 below

Top 4 expectations to succeed as a founder CEO?
If you want to succeed as a founder CEO, here are a few expectations you might have to set to continue staying as a CEO in your start-up:
Wife: Setting expectations that if you succeed with your start-up, the family will have the financial security for a life time.
Customers: Setting expectations that you have a well differentiated product. They also need to believe that they have your ear to discuss new features or support they want.
Investors: This is a tricky one. Your investors need to believe all the good things that is happening in the company is because of your ability to execute.
Team: Engineers will have to have at least one of their own ideas implemented in the features they are building. This will get them to show their ideas faster to the market.
Tell us what you think are the expectations to set to win?
Happy Building!

5/50/500k Start-Up Rule
My cousin emailed me recently the subject read “Need Advice” and the mail was about him wanting to do a start-up. He is part of a large tech company and been there for 4 years.
The challenge was he had two ideas, and he wanted my help on how to chose the best idea among the two.
We met and he took me through both the ideas - I asked him the usual  questions - TAM, Competition, Penetration, Competition.
After 4 beers and loosening up a bit I told him screw all that, and what was the idea he felt very strongly about? He said it is like asking his mother which kid she likes the most… So there we were, not sure the way forward…
After a couple of more beers, i thought i had a start-up rule for choosing ideas..
1. Develop an idea with 5k Investment - define metrics
2. If the metrics checks out, Invest 50k more to build the idea further.
3. If the metrics check out you are ready for a 500k investment from an investor..
What according to you is a good rule to evaluate ideas quickly?

Starting a Hardware Company? Here is what worked for us...
Tumblr media
When we started Prijector I met a few friends/angels who recommended that I run a Kick starter or Indiegogo campaign, and use the wheels already invented.
One angel told me "Don't commit on shipping dates! Just keep collecting money and build momentum. You will figure the rest"
So I checked out Kick Starter and Indiegogo Campaigns. I learnt few things common to most successful campaigns:
- Many teams were building Hardware for the first time.
- Most of them were awesome at PR.
- They all had a great introduction video.
- Sold Units Based on Demand (Good Campaigns sold more & more)
- Mass manufactured the Units in a single batch.
Most of the successful campaigns could not ship on time. Many got delayed by months, some even years!
So here is what we did:
Prijector is an enterprise product. The community we were selling to did not hang out on either of the two sites. So we never ran a Campaign on these sites, but we did the following
- Built a Nice Site and a Good Introduction Video
- Sold Directly on our site
- Provided complete Chat Support. Talked to all our visitors and made them comfortable with the product and understood the features they cared.
- Our Chat also gave our customers a preview of support we'll offer !!!
- Targeted PR activity. (Separate post on this later)
- Focussed on Selling Only a small number of Units in First Batch
- Got our software ready, before we started manufacturing
- Manufactured the first batch in 4 weeks
- Got this into our customer hands under 6 weeks from the order date.
We are now shipping our Fifth Batch. We are confident on what we can do right and how to respond to the worst!!!
Hope this helps and happy building!!!
