Internal Nyah Survey Results

In Late-2017, some of Team Nyah were surveyed about what they thought about the current direction of the Nyah Has an Adventure project and various things surrounding it. Below is a summary of their responses.

On how much the team really know about Project Nyah itself:

Most respondents acknowledge that:

Nyah was originally a creation of @the-f0x​,

@neonwabbit​ (me) tried to start some weird comics and videos about the character

An animated series involving the character is currently in production.

One respondent’s only answer to this question was the supplied thought that “Nyah is just a character that says ‘Nyah’ a lot, and that’s supposed to be hilarious for some reason”.

Other answers that were written in by the surveyed team members to this question included:

“F I S H   V O R T E X”,

“It should be a 3D animation, not 2D”,

and “Nyah is sexy.”

On the weird Nyah comics / joke videos having a completely different story / plot to the animated series:

Half of the respondents claim they know the upcoming animated series will be completely different to the earlier comics and joke videos, while the other half did not.

One respondent wrote in to say that they don’t know why they’re still being tagged with this “Nyah shit”.

On the fact that Nyah hatched from an egg in the comics VS. Nyah having a natural birth as a tadpole in the animated series being enough to help separate the comic universe from the animated universe:

There was again a even split between “yes” and “no”, but one team member wrote in to say “I have absolutely no idea what this question is talking about.”

On Nyah’s character actually being an illegal parasite using a human host body:

Half the team members were okay with this idea, while the other half said “WTF”.

On if Nyah should be able to ever speak English instead of just saying her own name all the time:

Most team members were not OK with Nyah speaking English.

On the amount of gore in the final episode of the series where Nyah dies due to being thrown in front of a train:

Most team members responded: “As many blood and guts should fly everywhere as possible, covering everyone and everything.”

On how Nyah survives her impact with the train in Nyah Has a Movie, which takes place after the final episode of the animated series:

Most team members correctly guessed that Nyah survives this way: “Her tadpole parasite form is separated from her human host body, and she has to quickly find another host before she dries up and dies for real.”

On whether the Nyah franchise should include references to sex and other mature themes:

Most team members responded positively, while one team member said that any character that has sex should slowly die due to a disease.

On whether Nyah is smart or not:

The majority of team members responded: “She is only very smart in some things, but not in others”. Other responses included:

“She has zero I.Q. and she is on drugs 24/7″

“Nyah should be as dumb as a blonde girl”

On whether characters can swear in the Nyah franchise:

Responses included:

“Yes I fucking love swearing”

“Fuckin' Oath Mate 100%”

“Nyah should be considered a swear word”

“Yes, but only extremely rarely, like once or twice every 10 episodes.”

and “tbh any of these would be great XD”

On what Nyah’s last English words should be in the “abridged” version of the Nyah animated series:

Responses included:

“Ohhh fuck me up the bum”

“can I borrow some money bro”

“Todokete setsunasa ni wa. Namae wo. Tsukeyou ka SNOW HALATION”

“lmao I can't fucking believe fucking Nyah is fucking dead, wait, that's not my line...”

"Oh shit, I'm fucking dead LOL XD"

On what food Nyah should eat:

Responses included:

“penis and pussy”

“seafood”

“anything”

On whether Nyah has different outfits or ever wears pants:

Responses included:

“ She should be nude all the time”

“anything that works with her bird legs, tadpole tail”

“Another tank-top/singlet, that is only a slightly brighter or darker shade of grey”

“WTF, you sicko, stop trying to put clothes on Nyah”

On whether the Nyah team members would actually help me make the Nyah animated series a reality: 

Mostly disinterest for now, with the exception of some people wanting to make additional characters for the show.

On whether the abandoned Nyah comics and/or joke videos were any good:

They were.

On whether the Nyah team members had any additional ideas for the Nyah franchise:

Responses included:

“Make a porno of it”

“scrap the whole idea”

“Nah good job so far”

In conclusion... uh, expect more Nyah soon I guess :^)

Nyah Fan-Art! Collection #001

It’s Nyah’s best friends - Lone, Arph and Skye!

Internet user TheToaMaster graciously provided a recording of himself reading Arph’s catchphrase, “I guess you could say Ignorance Is Bliss” and I tried to do a quick lipsync test.

Still needs a few adjustments here and there, but this is close to the look I’m gonna go for when it comes to the mouths.

An early test of the 2018 Nyah Puppet Rig (the fourth attempt at making a workable puppet!), showing one half of her full 360° rotation, completely in 2D!

If it looks weird, it’s because you’re not supposed to really see her turning on the spot like this. You’ll only see the character from one of twelve key angles, depending on what the shot calls for.

Well, now you can learn all about Nyah characters and concepts on the go with the brand new WikipediNyah for the Nintendo Game Boy!

The video here shows a work-in-progress version of WikipediNyah for the Nintendo Game Boy which only features just the four main characters, but there’ll be other characters in the final version. It will be made available for download and you will be able to try it out in the Game Boy emulator of your choice (or on an actual Game Boy if you have a flashcart).

Hilarious rare glitch that occurred whilst animating...

Some art of Mira I made for my college, and the current progress on the animation puppet rigs of the four main characters. Lone (the penguin) obviously still needs colour and a few things touched up here and there.

Current progress in rigging Skye. She’s missing her arms and legs right now because it is easier to draw them last once the invisible joints/pivots are added in with the help of these circles that will be removed later.

Next, I’ll be rigging Skye and Bele, because they both have similar proportions to Nyah, and it will be easier to transfer what I learnt from making Nyah’s rig over to their rigs.

With all of the earlier posts on this blog, you would assume that Nyah was the only character in the series. Not true! There's also these 8 other characters here, along with a bunch of humans and regular animals too. These are very early sketches of them before their designs get finalised during the puppet rigging process. Just to name a few changes from this image here: "Skye" is meant to have these tiny glasses, the goat twins "Mira" & "Fret" have blonde hair now, and "Voxx" only has one head in their final design... or do they?

More progress. Just missing the inbetweens for the right eyebrow and all the drawings/inbetweens for the left eye and left eyebrow.
