What matters is this horrible story! And Haruhi, she becomes (covert glance around) with child. YES, KITTENS!!! And then, Haruhi, it was so awful, the cats are in the grocery store and she EXPLODES! Where did I-- Haruhi I saw it on INSTAGRAM, can you focus on my story! And they rush her to the hospital-- no it's not a VET-- and she has a kitten but the kitten isn't ginger, Haruhi, it's not even his kitten! And she EXPLODED! In the commoner cat grocery store! And and Haruhi stop laughing at me, the cat reminded me of Kyoya because he's always working too and Haruhi what if he DOES get married and then his wife has an AFFAIR and then EXPLODES! It is so disturbing how every time a disabled person is brutally murdered by their caregiver, the conversation revolves around what we can do to give more support to caregivers and not the welfare of disabled people and how to give people with disabilities more agency and support in escaping abusive and neglectful situations. Don’t get me wrong, caregiving is hard but I am so tired of the “I feel so bad for the caregiver, their life was so rough and then they just snapped :(” narrative and not acknowledging that the disabled individual was uniquely vulnerable and completely at the whim of someone who despised them, felt they had no inherent worth and killed them. The rates of abuse experienced by disabled people are always conveniently left out of the narrative. So often it’s twisted into something justifiable, that you should relate to the murderer and not the victim. It is so sick.

while I don’t agree with that referring to men in their 30s-early 40s as “old man yaoi”, I UNDERSTAND why many people who primarily consume honest-to-goodness BL manga are quicker to call it that, because there is just such poor representation for men that aren’t hairless dehydrated 20-something twunks. They’re wrong, but I get why it happens.

I also understand that “middle-aged yaoi” isn’t as fun to say as “old man yaoi”, even when it’s more technically accurate.

So I would like to propose new vocabulary: Grown Ass Yaoi. yaoi that’s grown ass men. they’re not old but they’re not young adults either. you get me? Grown Ass Yaoi
