DMC oc

My current project is designing my DMC OC.

I have a novel length lore underneath, if you wanna read, open below. It's extremely headcanony, and very inaccurate but idrc

so there are two types of 'witches' in bayonetta. Lumen Sages and Umbra witches, dark and light.

Sages are technically not witches, they're obviously god and heavenly kinda stuff. They're extinct due to losing against the umbra witches, and I was thinking my character would have been sent to the dmc world by her parents to save her, so basically she's the last of the Lumen sages.

And in bayonetta world, witches sacrifice their death, so when they die they go to hell. While Sages are their counterpart and sacrifice their lives technically. So eternal damnation vs eternal servitude. my character is aware of this, and basically wants to live a boring life, a normal life she chose, since it's the last choice she'll make before her death

think they mnetion that the angel enemies in the game are basically dead lumen sages who serve underneath the alive ones

anyway there's more, but I gotta think harderP

and maybe they meet because she's trying to find more information about sages and how to summon angels as she does little favours for people.

Aka there's a haunted creek that drowns people, turns out it's a demon so she goes to seal/exorcise it

Anyway she's nero's mum because I have have to have vergil in any form. idc if she's black and nero is white, vergil white devil genes too strong.

Shadow

I drew some shadow's whilst playing his game, I copied the poses from the artworks in game. There were more, but I got bored and gave up cause they looked ugly

Sonic OC + Shadow

I think I'm still in my Shadow era, but I created a ton of art during my hyper hyperfixation.

I used the sonic picrew and traced over it since i had never drawn before. The colour palette was a sorta inversion of Shadow. Instead of red, it was orange. Then white and black, and a little yellow from his inhibitor gloves on the tail. I also liked the two toned hair, it looked cool.

From there I fleshed out my OC a little more.

She doesn't have the two toned hair here because I got lazy, she was originally a cat but her palette and shoes made her look like a tiger, so I just committed to that.

I can' t remember the original picture, but it was basically two aliens with big heads, so I drew them together <3

Fear and Hunger OC

uhhh, I didn't get much into developing him, but he was gay and that's all that mattered

I was gonna colour it, and change it depending on identity (binary trans, nonbinary trans) but fucked up my layers so hard I couldn't. I also lost the original file after.

Smiling friends OC

THis was an oc I made after watching smiling friends with my friends (we smiled). I was going for jellyfish, which is why it was like arms in the back, but I've been told it looks like a mushroom, which is also nice. I added a texture to it to kind of give them a unique look.

Anyway, I love Pim! So I wanted to create a James like character for him. So aggressive with their affection and honestly psychopathic.

Screaming to the void, but just gonna dump some art I've done over the last few years. I only draw for fun these days, so I haven't improved significantly. But I'm having a ton of fun, so we're content.

Started watching Inuyashiki, enjoying it a ton. I'm weak to pretty boys...even if those pretty boys would probably just murder me

This blog used to be my thoughts on art and to track progress, so just that boring shit under the cut. Otherwise, I'll finish Inuyashiki post Christmas (hopefully)!

Alright, this is half beating myself up, and highlighting issues that pretty much cripple my art ability.

I'm a procrastinator and a huge overthinker. That goes for things I want to do. I had originally wanted to pair Hiro with another character, but I got so frustrated whilst drawing that I basically gave up halfway through.

This comes down to me refusing to do a warm up sketch. I don't know why, but everytime I go to draw, I think about how I have to spend 20 minutes warming up, and then in the end I just don't draw. It's a terrible process and I know it's stopping me, but it's hard to break the cycle.

Today when I was drawing, the only reason I even got this much done was because I was watching a show whilst doing it.

First I tried to draw my OC, then got frustrated because it (understandably) looked like shit. Then I gave up for about 10 minutes and then the process rinsed and repeated for about an hour before I was actually warmed up and created something I was confident in.

I know this is not even an art thing for me to work on, it is a mental thing. And, by working on the "boring" parts of creativity, I know I'll be happier. Not only with my work, but with my life.

Ah, but now the technical aspect of the art work. I was basically trying something new, since I struggle with visualising squares and boxes. So I just blocked out shapes and then erased them to create what I thought looked beliveable.

To be honest, this worked well. I'm not sure if it was because I'd finished my arm up, or because it's actually an effective method. Since I hate my family, I will test out my hypothesis tomorrow.

Something to seriously work on is my layering. I fucked up the layering so phenomenally, I couldn't really make any drastic changes. I ended up working on one layer like an idiot, and with the strangest brushes imaginable. It is not a process I intend to repeat again.

I wanted to do some cool lighting which I couldn't because

1. my layers were horrible and I couldn't be bothered to do the whole erasing my background ect.

2. i don't paint often, or properly so it turned out quite....bad.

Art for my self indulgent fanfiction

Here is some concept art I've been doing for my fanfiction to help with visualisation! It originally started off as a crack/self indulgent Alm fucker fanfiction, but my need for plot overcame everything else. I have some more art, but it's a spoiler for the next chapter, so that'll be out when I finish the chapter!

I ditched the first colour pallete because it looks too much like Alm's armour.
