One piece of jewellery you can’t go anywhere without:

with nine piercings there is a corresponding amount of jewelry i don't ever take off, but for the purposes of this tag game: i wear a ring on my thumb that i got when i was... i think 14 or 15? i've had many near misses with it, particularly when i had to regularly take it off for various reasons, but it's still here!

Most worn shoes:

i own a LOT of shoes (rip) and they're all in very regular rotation, but i have a pair of black monkstrap brogues from ecco's sartorelle 25 line (also rip) that i think i've worn more than anything else due to comfort and general flair, panache, et cetera. i actually found and bought an oxblood pair secondhand earlier this year that are identical save for being lace-up, not monkstrap.

New book/fic that has you in its grip:

i'm reading the exhibition catalog for superfine right now and it's really, really good. i've been reading a lot of "essay collection"-style nonfiction in the past year or so, and this is a standout so far. it's a really interesting mix of writing from academics, contemporary designers, and celebrities (and, obviously, a bunch of visual material).

One drink you can’t go without:

my morning cawfee...... V60 pour-over on a 1:17 ratio if ☝️ you are curious. i don't time my pours during the week because cannot be fucked to do that at ass o'clock in the morning but i get fancy on weekends.

(i don't really drink anything besides water, coffee, and occasionally some tea, so this is a cheater answer 🤷)

Latest kitchen fail:

i'm sure i've fucked up since this but a while back i made kotlety mielone while distracted and i did not fry up the diced onion. just added it raw instead. did not realize what tasted so fucked up until i was on the second kotlet. the texture of raw onion inside a cooked ground pork patty was exactly as bad as you imagine.

A piece of media you have been wanting to watch for ages but never got the time to:

very funny that this tag game specifies "watch" because i very famously watch about one (1) thing per fiscal year and that serves to remind me that i just don't like watching things

but i have been meaning to watch killers of the flower moon for the costuming, so i'll get around to that... eventually.......

i do appreciate the way that we tumblr users have evolved our language to discuss our feelings related to The Character/The Guy. you used to have to just say he was hot or he was making your ovaries explode or he was a precious cinnamon roll even if he looked bad or was just kind of standing there or whatever. now you can say things like “the creature” or “he looks so sopping wet here” or “i want to chain him to my radiator” like it’s just more inclusive and adaptable to the situation

nothing brings me more joy than critically engaging with media that was clearly not designed with critical engagement in mind. it’s the media studies equivalent of like, idk, trying to skateboard up a flight of stairs.
