I wanted to share an update with you all.
•
The man who brutally stabbed and killed O’Shea has been charged with murder as a hate crime and criminal possession of a weapon.
•
O’Shae Sibley deserves to be here. Voguing shouldn’t be a death sentence. Being gay shouldn’t be a death sentence. Being Black shouldn’t be a death sentence.
•
We must continue to push for Justice for O’Shae. These charges alone aren’t enough. Keep sharing his story. Keep speaking up. Keep educating. Keep fighting for change!

Absolutely heartbreaking. O’Shae Sibley deserves to be here. What a shame we live in a world still filled with so much hate. Keep saying his name until he gets Justice!!!

Yesterday, on the last day of Pride Month, the Supreme Court ruled that it is okay for businesses to discriminate against LGBTQIA+ folks and deny them services. This comes after a whirlwind of anti LGBTQIA+ laws have been passed in various states. The Supreme Court also blocked President Biden’s program to eliminate up to $20,000 in student loan debt for millions of Americans. While the Biden Administration said they will continue to fight and use the Higher Education Act of 1965 to their advantage, it still doesn’t fix the heavy impact this news had on many. Whether you are part of the LGBTQIA+, someone suffering from student loan debt or both, please know you are NOT alone. This news feels like a lot so I have conducted a list of mental health resources for those who need it. All resources are available for free. When the time is right and when people are finally ready to stand against the horrible system in place, I’ll post more information on how we can do that. But for now, take a breather. It has been a lot. On the second slide, there’s some things to do if you’re feeling down. While these won’t fix things necessarily, they can help for the now. Remember to breathe, remember you are not alone and remember we are in this together. #protestforchange #mentalhealthawareness #lgbtqiaplus #pridemonth #studentloans #wheretheresawilltheresaway #fightthepower #youmatter #youarenotalone

My heart aches. When will this stop? When will it end? Here are ways we can keep pushing for change. I wish there were more… but if we stay consist and keep raising our voices and demanding change, I’m sure we will see something. A solution is needed and our government cannot keep ignoring this. We cannot allow them to.

Today is Earth Day! 🌏🌍🌎
We can make small changes and those small changes DO matter. I'm so tired of people saying, "it doesn't matter what I do if big companies keep doing what they're doing." Yes, yes it does. Of course we can push and fight for more eco friendly solutions and such. But small changes are as simple as recycling, reusing, composting, using a reusable bag to shop with, NOT supporting companies that are NOT eco friendly, not eating meat/dairy products, not using your car as much, not wasting electricity, turning your lights off when they aren't needed, preserving water, etc. The list goes on and on. But yes, WE do have the power to make changes even if they are small!

Here are three petitions for you to sign today!
Here are three new petitions for you to sign today!
•
1. Justice For Ronald Greene - The family of Mr. Greene was not told the truth about what happened by Louisiana State Police. They were told that their son, husband, and friend died from injuries he sustained in a crash after failing to stop for a traffic violation, when in fact his life ended tragically at the hands of Louisiana State Troopers after what can only be described as a brutal murder. His family was denied the truth for nearly two years. As the body camera footage clearly shows, Ronald Greene surrendered and complied with the officers. His words were not combative. He said he was scared, he apologized, and he complied.
•
2. Stop The Olympic Swimming Federation From Banning Large Swim Caps For Black Swimmers - FINA told SoulCap that the caps are unsuitable because they don't follow "the natural form of the head.” FINA told SoulCap that the caps are unsuitable because they don't follow "the natural form of the head".
•
3. Free Horace Peterson - For 48 years, Peterson has been wrongly incarcerated after being convicted of felony first-degree murder for a crime he didn’t commit.
