And so today, seemed a little brighter.
The end of the tunnel was in a safe distance.
Each step did not feel like a chore.
Embrace this moment, don't look back.
Keep your eyes straight ahead.

You want to be alone.
It hurts like hell.
People will eventually leave you.
You leave them, too.
How can you make
them understand?
You cannot even identify
the feeling
It's just empty.
It's dark.
How can you even escape this?
you feel lost,
How can you be found?
You feel blind.
How can you see again?
You are drowning.
You don't know how to swim.
You are burning.
You can't put the fire out.
It's just too much.
I know you are tired.
You just want all of these
to end,
I hope you find peace.

"When you grow up, your heart dies."
- Allison, The Breakfast Club
With age, comes loss
of innocence,
purity;
we see the blemishes
in human nature,
finding fault in those
where once
we sought trust.
Over time,
there's a gnawing
skepticism
toward our once
untarnished dreams.
But this, too,
is to be
expected.
Life becomes a commitment
to staying young.
Do not grow
into those tired,
embittered souls
you pointed out
when you were young.
Don't allow their cynisim,
to cloud your vision.
Rekindle curiosity,
wonder,
a youthful spirit.
Wander the woods;
get lost amidst
the cardinal's song;
spend time with children;
cultivate the sound
of their laughter.
Life is a most cherished gift.
Why must we first
waste it,
or worse, risk losing it,
to discover its intrinsic
beauty?
Remaining childlike
into old age
is a conscious decision.
It means not surrendering
to fatigue,
or disappointments,
anger, or regrets.
People may call you
naive, foolish.
Let them.
Turn your thoughts
toward the stars;
let their wonder illuminate
your hope.
Write poetry, play music, dance--
use your gifts to serve others.
Whatever it takes,
preserve your heart;
create a life
you can dream within.

I am overwhelmed with thoughts.
I am bombarded with memories.
My brain hit rewind and I cannot stop it.
My heart is heavy.
There are tears I am trying to hold back.
There are moments I am trying to forget.
Please make it stop.
Please save me.

“A good test of a relationship is how well you both deal with challenges. If one person is more invested, it shows. If you’re with the wrong person, it feels like too much work. But if you’re unhappy more than you’re happy, it’s not the right relationship for you.” - Susane Colasanti, All I Need

You
Eyes heavy but my mind told me to write.
This is for the people struggling to fight their own battles.
This is for you who is tired of hiding your pain and scars.
This is for you...
You are not alone, I am here, fighting alongside with you.
You are not abandoned, I am here, protecting you.
You can cry now, that's okay.
You can rest for now, I will just be here, I will stay.
You are loved. You are valued.
Please don't forget that.

This is a summary of college only using two pictures; expensive as hell.
That’s my Sociology “book”. In fact what it is is a piece of paper with codes written on it to allow me to access an electronic version of a book. I was told by my professor that I could not buy any other paperback version, or use another code, so I was left with no option other than buying a piece of paper for over $200. Best part about all this is my professor wrote the books; there’s something hilariously sadistic about that. So I pretty much doled out $200 for a current edition of an online textbook that is no different than an older, paperback edition of the same book for $5; yeah, I checked. My mistake for listening to my professor.
This is why we download.

Forty Days
I wear midnight in the morning / dark crescent moons convict eyes that used to be blue / I take the long way home and dance to the sound of waiting
it will take more than one lonely night to break me / more than forty days and forty nights to change me
we both know lonely and ache and tired and wait / but you don't know stubborn until you've seen how deep I dig my heels into this promise:
I will love you longer than the nights that pulled you down by your eyelids / longer than the distance between a hometown and a better place / I'll love you long after your tongue forgets your name / long after my eyes fail to coax poems from your fingers / after dust coats my bones like the darkest touch
one lonely night won't break me

Takot

Lost
She thought she was on track.
She thought she was doing things right.
One day, she stopped.
She pondered if this was what she really wanted.
"Something doesn't feel right," she said.
She was not sure if she was happy or sad.
She got confused.
She got lost.

Sun and Rain
Sunset is the end
Sunrise is the beginning
Clouds form to hide your sun
Raindrops start falling
No rhyme nor rhythm
Your life is like a mess everyone is feeling...
But as the sun said goodbye today...
Remember that tomorrow will be another blessing...

“It makes me angry sometimes, it’s a visceral thing–how you come to despise your own words in your ears not because they aren’t genuine, but because they are; because you’ve said them so many times, your ‘principles,’ your ‘ideals’–and so damned little in the world has changed because of them.” - Joyce Carol Oates, Black Water

Blurred
He stared at her.
Thinking what to say this time.
He looked for a reason to stay.
But found himself in darkness.
He tried to focus on the sun, but the clouds were there already.
Tears went down, his vision went blurry.
He asked himself, "Is this really the end?"
