tbh i hope pissvortex is the next big cis guy funnyman blog to get irrecoverably cancelled. that guy has been randomly accusing trans women of being pedophiles for the entire time he's been on the website, because he's a transmisogynist. he engages in lolcow shit like pretty much constantly. really disgusting guy

much less alarmed by the 'cognitive impact' of LLM use than I am by the fact that so many people apparently believe your brain can atrophy or permanently lose function in the space of four months because you used fancy sparknotes to write a couple of essays

#my wife is on the SOR for being gay #no joke #she hit on a girl in a straight bar once #in 1997 #and while the girl was into it #the off duty cop sitting nearby was not #and so he arrested her for ‘soliciting homosexual activity’ #which in our state was still a felony #in 1997 (and would remain so until Lawrence v Texas in 2003) #and since ‘soliciting homosexual activity’ was a felony and a sex crime #she got put on The List #she is still on there to this day #because it costs MONEY to ask a judge to take you off #and she has tried four times#since 2003 #to get taken off the SOR #but every time the judge has said something like ‘no you pled guilty to the crime i can’t possibly take you off the sex offender registry’ #with no acknowledgement of what the actual crime was #(the crime of being a butch lesbian hitting on a cute girl who was into it) #(in 1997)
Reposting these tags with consent from the person that wrote them. The post about the Sex Offenders Registry is locked, but these tags are too important to go unnoticed.
Younger queer people need to realize that the SOR being used against queer people simply for being queer isn’t some ancient history thing. It still impacts queer people today. And it can quite easily be used that way again.

And I just fundamentally don't believe that no one would ever want to do anything productive if not forced under the threat of homelessness and starvation. I believe that if physically and mentally able, most people would want to do things to help out their loved ones and support their community. I don't believe "laying in bed all day" is so fulfilling to the average person that that's all anyone would ever be doing if we didn't force a 40 hour work week on people under the threat of not having your basic needs met. I think most people have an inherent drive to learn and create and contribute and connect and help each other out. I see it everywhere, even in this hell world.

stoned and autistic at a party trying to make conversation: I find the comparative lifespan of organisms so interesting. Spiders are comparatively long lived animals. Female black widows can live up to 3 years but their male counterparts rarely live four months. Some tarantulas live upwards of 20 years. The longest lived spider was around 43 years old when she was cruelly assassinated by a parasitic wasp. Domestic rats have a lifespan comparable to female black widows. To put things into perspective, there are spiders that remember a pre-pandemic world but it is likely every rat on earth was born post-COVID. There could be a spider out there born when Reagan was in office.

that phrase "i'm whatever gender has the shorter bathroom line" always stuck out to me because like. presuming equal gender distribution at an establishment that is crowded enough to have lines for the bathroom, that is almost always the mens' bathroom because urinals exist. perhaps ultimately making it even more poignant of a metaphor, albeit unintentionally, for gendered biases and societal privileges that even trans people (who otherwise still suffer from general transphobia) can nevertheless benefit from in a way that excludes transgender women

Found a system blog we thought was cool.. Only to realize they're anti-endo. So we're here to announce that this blog is endo friendly. Your origin does not matter, unless you're using it as an excuse to be unkind to others. Hopefully tumblr will realize we're pro endo soon and stop showing us this anti crap in our feed

theres such an expectation of the host as a "real" and "normal" one and i think its because or related to the general idea of DID, plurality, and neurodivergency in general as like, a curable infection. like, the flu, you know? i think a lot of people really think therapy is supposed to give you medicine that makes you Normal™ and thats why people complain when it takes too long or whatever.. anyway i think its related because, people see alters as just, symptoms of the curable infection they think plurality is, and think the host is "the one whos ACTUALLY real/the body/person i know" instead of seeing plurality as the way we are.

remember kids, the moral of "Irish and Italians weren't even considered White yet!" isn't "because in those times people were so ignorant they didn't think the Irish were white". the moral is "because white is an unreal category created to justify slavery and ongoing hoarding of power and wealth". It's not that you know better about Italians. It's that the boundaries of the higher caste have changed.
