Are you against YouTube's AI Age Verification bs? Listen up!

There's a blackout/boycott being organized starting on August 13th, the day the policy is supposed to go into effect. That day, we stop using youtube until they roll it back. Use other video websites (cuz they do exist) if you have a youtube premium subscriptin (for some reason), cancel it and state this new policy as the reason why. leave feedback on why you're against this. Call them and don't email. no human answers the emails. and more importantly, TANK. THEIR. RATINGS. On the 13th, go to the app store if you have the youtube app, and en masse leave 1 star reviews and site this new policy as the reason why.

It's never about the kids when it comes to stuff like this. They're only ever used as a scapegoat and this will make kids even less safe.

How would it be if we crossed the two universes? Jesper is from another universe and from the galaxy, Lylat system. I never thought about the idea of him being a goalie until I watched the Mighty Ducks on like... REPEAT LOL. He has the attitude at least for playing hockey, a fitting defender for his team. One of my friends has a made-up team called "The Majors", he needed a goalie.<3 could be something to watch if he would ever encounter people from Puckworld lol I hope you like it!

Eggs and Molting

All the little duckling art and stuff lately is reminding me that I really need to get a certain story written that’s been rattling around in my head for about two years now. But, since I’m not even near ready to get started on it (heck, my office still isn’t set up and I moved a month ago!), I decided to share my headcanons about eggs and molting.

‘Birthdays’ aren’t really a thing for Ducks; at least, not the way humans celebrate birthdays. They all turn a year older at the same time, during Tarem. Tarem lasts about two weeks and occurs early Arpen (April). This is when everyone molts and when eggs are laid. Eggs hatch after 12 weeks and ducklings grow very quickly their first six months.

Egg are laid in the spring, typically one but sometimes two. Eggs laid just before the beginning of Tarem are called Eratch and this is approximately 30% of the population. Duke is Eratch. Nearly everyone hatches Aalatch, which occurs during Tarem, and eggs laid after are Cindatch, which is approximately 15% of the population. Wildwing is Cindatch. If a Duck lays two eggs, it’s typically one Ereatch and the second Cindatch. Ducks generally always lay during one of the three phases and rarely deviate from that timeframe. Mallory lays Eratch and Tanya Aalatch.

Two ducklings in the same egg is about one in a thousand; occasionally, one embryo dies and the other survives, but most often both die. Two ducklings from the same egg actually surviving are about a one in a trillion chance simply because of the lack of space in a single shell.

Getting egg bound (unable to lay the egg) is a serious issue and can be lethal if not treated quickly; however, it’s simple enough to fix with help and if caught early enough. Stress, too much protein, and not enough calcium are all factors that can lead to being egg bound.

The second molt is called Tarna and happens in the fall, around mid-Octen (October). Again, it lasts two weeks and is when the glossier, summer plumage is replaced by thicker, winter plumage with more down. It takes a duck a week to completely molt the old feathers and grow new. However, since not everyone starts at exactly the same time, Tarem and Tarna both allow for two weeks time off work and responsibilities. Tempers tend to run short during these times as everyone is super itchy and uncomfortable while molting. Looser, softer clothing is worn. These are also times for reading and creating art and planning the next several months.

NaNoWriMo Day 4

I only did a super short blurb today because I got caught up with other stuff, like taking in my sister’s koi because she can no longer care for them. Fun times!

So, today you get a bit of a joke thing I’ve had rattling around for a while and finally wrote out:

Laid

“Did you get laid last night?” Jerk asked.

Nosedive stared at him for a second, eyebrow raised, before replying.

“I’m Alatch, if that’s what you mean… And I’m 20; so, no, I wasn’t laid last night.”

“Huh? No! What’s that?”

“Never mind.” He rolled his eyes.

“Okay… But, Mallory’s a hot chick. And you two had that whole wedding prank. Did ya do her?”

“Uh… We had practice this morning?” He loved playing dumb for jerks like this.

“No! Like, third base, man.”

“We play hockey, not baseball.”

“Wow, you are really, really dense.”

“If you want to know something, why not ask it instead of using all these stupid euphemisms?”

“Eupha-what?”

“Nothing.” He went back to the textbook, pretending to study it.

“Ummmm…

“So…” Jerk wouldn’t let the subject drop.

“Ugh, Fine!” He slammed the book shut and turned to face him.

“You want to know if I poke checked through the five hole?”

“What?” Now it was the jerk’s turn to be confused.

“Or, maybe I stuffed her pillows? We did a little feather dusting last night? I got into the penalty box?”

“Sex.” Jerk just gave up.  “Did you and Mallory have sex?”

“Geeze! Pry into a guy’s personal life, why don’t ya? Rude?” He leaned back and opened his book again. Humans could be so damned rude.

Had a dream that was one of those cartoon intro/outro segments and it featured Wildwing. It said:

FACT: Wildwing can deadlift 1,000 lbs because he has the goal of one day throwing Dragaunus across the room.

We never really talked about it but The Ugly Ducking that grew up to be a beautiful swan was still probably pretty fugly from a duck’s perspective
