i really think mandatory psych holds should either be eliminated or dialed back to only apply to people who have either already done something or who have said flat-out, "i WILL do [dangerous and violent thing]", not just "i've thought about [dangerous and violent thing]". I mean i'm pretty firmly of the opinion that psych hospitals in general are intended to serve as punitive facilities against people who fail to hide their symptoms and have zero actual intent of helping the people committed to them outside of teaching them "if you cant get your shit together, you'll have to come back here" but let's pretend they're actually supposed to help. all mandatory holds do is make people afraid to speak genuinely with mental health professionals, which eliminates the whole purpose of the process for anyone who needs more in-depth help than like. the kind of one-sentence platitudes you see in image macros on facebook. talking to therapists feels like talking to a cop. and most of them obly have two-year degrees and certificates that mostly focus on the legality of confientiality and stuff that has nothing to do with actually helping people. talk therapy without at least a surface level understanding of neurology is less than worthless. and then the people who actually are taught neurology, psychiatrists, are too important to actually provide any more in-depth care than writing a script. it sucks!!!

i really wanna talk to my wife about how she gave me Birth Trauma but i know that convo will just turn back into her trying to explain her pov (i get her pov i know her pov we've talked about her oov over and over and over again) and how it was Hard For Her Too but like. thats. thats kind of the birth trauma i'm talking about. my birth trauma is about how my pregnancy and my giving birth was all about her and her feelings.

the phrase “gooner behavior” needs to be obliterated from human speech. the fact that so many folks let anti-porn and anti-sex work dipshits get into their ears to the point that choosing simply to publicly exist in proximity of any expression of outward sexuality is treated as toxically immoral behavior is… frankly fucking sad. the people that want a chaste internet don’t have to socially police us anymore because they tricked you into doing it.
