While i don’t like Purityg-y myself, i think a lot of the reblogs are forgetting kink/fetish doesn’t have to tie with your actual beliefs. Plenty of people have breeding kinks but wouldn’t actually want or care to have kids (or may not even be able to!)

Whatever gender Sydney is in your game, if you’re same sex, they don’t care and it’s obvious it’s genuine. So them mentioning wanting to impregnate/be impregnated during sex shouldn’t necessarily be taken as contradictory to their previous sentiment.

Although, I do agree it feels as if Purity is a little too focused on breeding/hetero themes that it feels almost misogynistic/homophobic sometimes lol. I can only stand so many times of Sydney saying ‘are you sure this feels good for you?’ when he’s fucking my malePcs lol😭

It's so funny to me that Sydney's creator is so obsessed with trying to shove a breeding fetish in this clearly repressed lesbian that he forgot to have the character he made actually have such a fetish. i found the line i was talking about with RoD Sydney (i forgot how sexy the prayer room is cuz my current save is with RoP Sydney)

it really is the same line but slightly altered… also, this is the line that says Sydney doesn’t recall his words/actions

now, because both of these ‘moments’ happen in the church, part of me wonders if it is in fact mythical/related to the church instead…

but regardless, i’m more keen in believing it’s trauma or hypnosis based.

So as a last, baseless, theory of mine, perhaps there’s a reason (unknown to us) that drives whoever may be pulling the strings in the background to make Sydney have this ‘untapped potential’ for rage/violence…?

or maybe, this more aggressive side to Sydney is actually the REAL Sydney and the mix of being traumatized & then treated by Harper was to suppress that personality and instead create the malleable, spineless, broken version of Sydney to ‘protect’ him/others from himself?

Sydney can technically gift you clothes if you pass out while naked in the library. They bring you to a back room and leave you a uniform. It's a very remote event though.

so. we know Fayne telling the witch his name is vital in Nona stealing his heart, right? and in ending S she gains the stockholm syndrome trait….

and then there’s “seabird” who refused to reveal her name and only wanted to know the children’s surnames, and “summer” who didn’t share hers either…

what if the PC being nameless is intentional? because they too are a descendant of this line of witches? which would explain why everyone, townspeople included, are drawn to the PC, just like everyone was with Nona

perhaps Seabird and Summer avoiding sharing their names (unlike Nona, who did) was to ensure any bewitching didn’t affect themselves as well (ie they wouldn’t fall for someone). of course, for this theory we can put aside the little drink spell Summer did to herself; that is its own thing

so what if, this is why the LIs seem so … obsessed with the PC, but the PC doesn’t have to or rather— doesn’t seem to— feel this for any of the LIs themselves? because the bewitching isn’t mutual, just one way (similar to Nona in the other endings)

Therefore, if it only takes 3 things for the ‘spell’ to work/steal someone’s heart, and based on Fayne’s to Nona, these are what could count for the LIs being bewitched:

Robin: name, lemonade in thermo (gift), braiding pc’s hair (can happen if you fall asleep in class), kiss/sex

Kylar: name, owl plush/pepper spray (gift), plays with pc’s hair, kiss/sex

Sydney: name, touches hair, uniform (gift), kiss/RoP/RoD

Whitney: name, mall shopping/collar/alcohol/parasite💀 (gift), touches hair, kiss/sex

Alex: name, alcohol/cottage/farm (gift), kiss/sex

Avery: mixed bag ngl. i don’t think they’re bewitched becaude Avery could easily be a surname & he sucks name, money (gift), kiss/sex

More Victim Sydney Theories

now, branching from my last thoughts. there’s the innocence stat to take into consideration

assuming Harper & the church/Bishop /do/ have an agreement at least about Sydney and them forgetting their other parent, then maybe this is where Sydney’s self-victim blaming will later occur.

for whatever reason, perhaps the Bishop/church want Sydney to be ‘oblivious’ or at max innocence until they’ve unknowingly accumulated enough trauma to then drop a bomb on Sydney that brings them to the “You understand” state which is where the trauma stat returns and is usually very high.

but why the need for a highly traumatized Sydney? i’m not sure. perhaps a ritual of sorts we haven’t seen yet? maybe similar to the one done in The Schism that sacrificed church members, including the IW? I mean, the IW can only show the PC the entire schism if their Trauma is extremely high so… maybe trauma is needed for the ritual itself?

perhaps… they want to lure out the six-armed angel again? I mean, the huge spear the PC is asked to retrieve from the island is probably the very same one (or similar enough) the angel used in the Schism.

So maybe it’s just a matter of getting all the prerequisites for attempting the ritual a second time, with a traumatized yet important member of the church (Sydney), sacrificed as the final requirement?

not that i’m saying it would go through. i think the PC saving a church member from the Danube ritual will be needed experience to later save Sydney from this theoretical later ritual

if someone sees this that is actually smart and can piece things together better please drop your thoughts

this is a very incomplete thought, but i think it’s interesting to note that during Harper’s therapy in the asylum— where they convince the PC it’s their fault they prvoked the townspeople so ofc they attacked the PC— is similar to the way the witch in the Hopeless Cycle is treated by the church.

the witch being a fallen angel at the start of the story explains why she can become a full fledged demon in about a week because it’s the only way to turn so quickly… so why would an angel have ‘willingly’ done that to themselves? just like why would the PC do that to themselves?

and then with the bad history between Harper & Sydney relating to their other parent, i do wonder if Harper and the church (specifically the hidden side the Bishop oversees) have some sort of agreement or connection at the very least.

again, this is all over the place and i’m not entirely sure what i’m trying to say with these points. so take it as ‘thinking out loud’

yes!! because at his core, corrupt or pure, Sydney is still Sydney. He’s still the same diligent, overworked guy that’s devoted to you and his faith, but feels free to be freaky with the PC when corrupt🙂‍↕️

his mannerisms seems to be relatively the same— save for when it relates to/concerns the PC— although he is more vocal about his feelings in general when corrupt (and vulgar lol)

I'd like to think Sydney has just been repressing their corrupt side their whole life. They feel guilty about it bc they've always been told by the temple it's wrong and a sin. PC shows them the light, that it's ok to do this stuff but this mf is repressed and goes from 0-100 and doesn't hold back.

so... as expected, Kylar too can see our divine TF briefly like Sydney can. now im wondering what his reaction is to a demon TF pc

TFs and determining how aware the NNPCs are.

Monster people by default are only seen during hallucinations which occur with high enough trauma and/or awareness.

River (the guy who passes out over anything remotely lewd): assumes your TF is a costume. their awareness is probably 3 and under (id guess maybe a 2 at most personally with how they react lol)

Winter, who after the latest update, we find out has had multiple encounters with the occult, must have at least an awareness 4. When they ask about your TF and the PC answers honestly, it says youre unable to tell if they believe you or not- they probably do.

Robin: theyre a mixed bag and seems to depend on their confidence level. in general in the halloween event they see the TF as a costume, but if your PC is a cow TF, they understand what that means. (disclaimer: ive only interacted with a 80+ confident robin as a cow TF so im not sure what they say when lower)

if you continuously moo for attention at confident Robin, you can slowly open up to them about what happened in the UF and it genuinely upsets them and they promise to help protect/fix the PC and their cow TF condition

lastly, Sydney's (pure and corrupt) is probably a 3 minimum simply because Sirris as a science teacher, and either always have a chance of briefly seeing your divine TF and vary in how they feel about it. Although,

because corrupt sydney mentions the holes in the world to the PC at the confessional and how things try to harm others through them,

then the PC says they think Sydney sees ‘it’ too (in regards to the confessional seal [this one i’m unsure if its mentioned with pure Sydney too]) ,

lastly, C!Sydney looks up at the terror above with the PC if you’re praying for awareness with them (or looks anxious abt smthing if you’re praying for salvation)

leads me to think C!Sydney is minimum 4 if not reaching 5 (or whatever Winter may be since both their awareness levels seems to be impacted thanks to intimate relationships)

Id love to hear others thoughts, esp in regards to Whitney & Kylars awareness (the latter id like to guess is a 4) 🩶

honestly i’ve always thought the same too, but because Vrel has insisted Robin is supposed to be the vanilla/‘unproblematic’ one, it leads me to believe it’s more so:

at low confidence: robin is unaware or too timid to stop someone from taking advantage of the PC (much like the pillory demonstration)

but high confidence is where i’m unsure. i would have to actually pay attention and see if the event still occurs. if it doesn’t, we can assume Robin naturally stops the perpetrator, but if it does happen… i guess they’re just unaware… (i don’t like the unaware reason lol)

oh how i wish high confidence Robin is the one to use the PC’s hand, at least at high confidence + high lust
