from the way focalors made it sound in the aq, it seems like she was the last push for egeria to grant her wish of turning the oceanids human...in rhodeia's eyes, focalors was the start of everything going wrong.

It's interesting how most oceanids that didn't become human have no regard for their own individuality...they're all happy to merge with other lochfolk because it's how oceanids learn and grow. ann, the baby oceanid from narzissenkreuz, is the only one who expressed feeling disturbed by the idea of losing yourself like that

"And since you're a super old and ugly, grandma fish person, you're going to be kicking that bucket soon too." She sticks her tongue out again, for good measure.

"No. Humans die." Living such small, meaningless existences and being rendered nothing in the end. "We as Lochfolk, beings of pure water, return to where we once came." A sigh. She doesn't know why she bothers to clarify–even if condescendingly–as the child mainly finds issue with her hair, of all things. "I am curious to see if you can say the same thing once you reach the end of your life."

"Hah. You're the tumor, lasting for that long. Things are supposed to die some day you know! And that's not the most important part here—" Tonia points accusingly. "If you're supposed to be that old, you should have white grandma hair! Because you're an ugly old lady! Grandma, oldie, old lady!"

Human as he may appear, there is no mistaking the stench of corruption that has been causing the waters to thrash in a panic.

It came as no surprise, truthfully. Her suspicions were never without merit, even if she often attacked indiscriminately. She could have only escaped their sights for so long. And as powerful as she may be, that doesn’t stop the whirlpool of dread, her thoughts running wildly. "How long have you've known? How many are there?"

Each question sprung another one. She needed answers, and it is the only reason that she hasn't decided to make quick work of the man in front of her.

Truthfully, had she not already taken up Qingce as her choice of residence, she would have considered Chenyu Value next.

The water is quite pristine, devoid of malice which poisons the waters of Fontaine…but ( there is always a but ) too many people depend on it for their livelihoods. And if she can, she prefers having nothing to do with the land-dwellers. Their fingers leave imprints behind, dirtying whatever they touch—the waters included.

So when she encountered a stranger dipping her legs—the heels of her shoes no doubt dirty—to cross the nearby stream, something boiled inside her. With a lazy flick of her fingers, she commands droplets to splash the unsuspecting adventurer.
