Gonna write an essay about the implications of Tony referring to his suit as a high tech prosthesis.
because what did he mean. was it a joke. and if not.
The suit is powered by the arc reactor. some could say that the arc reactor is part of the suit. dies that mean tony keeps the suit on all the time? is it a prosthesis as an extension of his arc reactor?
or is is psychological? is it metaphorical? is it the metal replacement for a non-functioning essential extension of a body, as in, the suit replaces the army that is no longer functional?? is it a prosthesis in that it lets tony’s mind work because, for once, he feels somewhat useful again?
i need to know what he was thinking when he said it, and how long he had thought that
#marvel#as someone who is physically disabled and experiences chronic pain#And is a cane user myself (and has a bad time with hubris and not taking it places i /should/)#i resonated with tony in so many ways watching the IM movies and was just extremely bitter and disappointed when IM3 essentially 'cured' hi#in my head he still has the arc reactor#has side effects from the sheer amount of palladium in his body#and probably hates himself for his body essentially forcing him to have help from outside sources#cause i get it buddy it sucks ass but you gotta learn to ask for help some time!!
