i thought it’d be cool to show my process because this took DAYS. to finish. DAYSSSS. i have been practicing a lot though, and i think im getting better with limb proportions. YAY! i still have a lot to work on (like colors) but this is progress!

Christmas Eve Starters

Hello! Hope all of you who celebrate are having a lovely christmas eve day. (This posts at midday where I live, not sure on everyone else!) Here's a nice little selection of some starters and some actions.

“ DO I LOOK LIKE HIM ? “ HINNY ONE SHOT

The Gryffindor common room was quiet in the late evening, the fire crackling softly in the hearth. Most of the students had gone to bed, but Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley sat together on the worn-out couch near the fire. Ginny had her knees tucked under her chin, a book resting forgotten in her lap, while Harry stared into the flames, his glasses slightly askew.

Ginny’s gaze lingered on him, tracing the messy black hair that refused to lie flat, the glasses perched on his nose, and the faint, contemplative furrow in his brow. It was in moments like these, when he wasn’t trying to be The Chosen One or the Boy Who Lived, that she saw him most clearly. But tonight, something else lingered in her thoughts—a nagging comparison she couldn’t ignore.

“You know,” Ginny began softly, breaking the comfortable silence. “I ran into Professor McGonagall earlier. She told me something interesting.”

Harry turned his head, his green eyes locking onto hers. “What’s that?”

“She said you remind her of your dad.” Ginny hesitated, her voice dropping. “That you look so much like him.”

Harry leaned back, his expression unreadable. “I’ve heard that before,” he admitted, his tone neutral. “From Sirius, Lupin, even Snape, in his own way. Always ‘You’re just like James.’”

Ginny frowned, sensing the tension in his voice. “Does that bother you?”

He shrugged, looking back at the fire. “Sometimes. I never really knew him, so I guess I don’t know what it means. Am I like him? Or do I just… look like him?”

Ginny reached out, placing a hand on his arm. “It’s more than looks, Harry. From what I’ve heard, James was brave, loyal, and a bit of a troublemaker. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?”

Harry’s lips quirked into a faint smile, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Maybe. But then there’s my mum. Everyone says I have her eyes. That’s the only piece of her anyone seems to see in me.”

Ginny studied him, her heart aching at the vulnerability in his voice. “Harry, you’re more than just pieces of them. You’re… you.”

Harry sighed, running a hand through his hair. “It’s hard sometimes. To hear everyone compare me to them—how I look, how I act. It’s like I’m a reflection of them, but not really my own person.”

Ginny hesitated before speaking again. “Do you want to know what I see?”

He turned to her, curiosity and hesitation mingling in his expression.

“I see someone who’s kind,” Ginny began. “Someone who puts others first, even when it hurts. Someone who’s strong and determined, but also scared to lose the people he loves. You might have James’s hair and Lily’s eyes, but everything you are—that’s you, Harry.”

Harry blinked, as if her words had struck something deep inside him. He reached out, brushing a strand of her fiery hair behind her ear. “You always know what to say, don’t you?”

Ginny smiled, leaning into his touch. “You don’t have to carry their legacy alone, you know. You’re allowed to just be Harry.”

For the first time that night, Harry’s shoulders relaxed, and a genuine smile touched his lips. “Thanks, Ginny. For reminding me.”

She squeezed his hand. “Anytime.”

As the fire crackled and the stars twinkled beyond the windows, Harry felt a sense of peace settle over him—a rare, precious feeling. Maybe he did look like James, and maybe he had Lily’s eyes, but in this moment, sitting with Ginny by the fire, he felt like himself. And that was enough.
