What has been your favourite part about writing TPReboot so far? Any stand out moments in or out of the story?
Lowkey my favorite thing thus far has just been seeing people's responses to every new chapter! It might not be mainstream levels of popularity or whatever, but I'm really happy with the small, dedicated batch of fans of my work I've grown. Seeing what storylines people like and are invested in is consistently fun, especially when people share their theories on what'll happen next.
As for a specific thing I enjoy writing, I've gotta give that to Bisharp and Gloom and their interactions with their teams. I'm a huge fan of villains as a whole as they add so much conflict. I love how they play off others as a result of their personality and ideals, and I can't wait for people to see where their storylines are going.
Oh, and stand-out moment definitely goes to the Bisharp and Growlithe interaction in Episode #2. I like to see that as the first "oh shit" moment of the story with hindsight of its importance.

What pieces of media would you say inspired TPReboot the most? Obviously Total drama and Pokémon, but were there any specific seasons of total drama that inspired TPReboot ? Any Pokémon game or anime seasons? And of course, was there anything else that had a big impact?
In terms of Total Drama specifically, gonna go with the OG on that one. Total Drama Island is my favorite season; not only was it the first and do I have a lot of nostalgic memories with it (I literally remember watching episodes air live with my brother and mom), but I genuinely believe that Episode 12 onward are the franchise at its most consistent and best.
Tumblr media
As for Pokemon, I admittedly don't place as much direct importance onto a singular game or show for that. If I had to pick one though, I'd probably go with Pokepark. Another game I have some genuine nostalgia for, and definitely at least vaguely explored the concepts of smaller Pokemon communities, albeit through a more young concept.
Tumblr media
Outside of them, there were definitely a few more shows that I'd say heavily influenced Reboot's themes, writing, and sense of humor.
Namely, these ones:

I asked this... that it
What would you say is the character that's changed the most from prior versions? No need to go into specifics just general stuff is fine
Now, this is one Hell of a question...
For those unaware, TPReboot is currently on what I'd called Take #3. Takes #1/2... Aren't on the internet anymore (well, they were archived, but you know what I mean). And well, a lot has changed from where this story originally began, especially the characters. So... Let's get into the characters who definitely changed the most.
Oh, and it's worth noting, but SPOILERS! If you're not caught up with current TPReboot (up to Episode #4), I'd go and read those first.
Bidoof (& Staff)
The various staff members probably had the least substantive changes on this list, but are still fairly notable as a collective. Especially cause a lot of the general changes apply to them as a whole.
Namely, all of them aside from Bidoof were, at one point or another, originally planned as contestants. Armarouge, Palafin, Snorlax, and Rhydon were all going to be competing at one point or another before they found their finalization as various parts of auxiliary crew. Personality-wise though, none of them have changed too much... Except for Armarouge, but we'll get into her later.
Bidoof, meanwhile, definitely shifted the most obviously from his original concept. Namely, Bidoof used to be a lot... Creepier. Here was his original description:
"As a young boy, Bidoof was kidnapped alongside his brethren from his home in Route 201 and experimented on, the group of Bidoofs being tested, challenged, and groomed so that the scientists create the "perfect" Bidoof host. After twenty nine years of this agony, only this Bidoof has survived without going completely insane, and was declared the superior "Bidoof" (giving him a massive ego). This scientifically enhanced super Bidoof is fresh from the lab and ready for his first gig as host. It's said his consciousness is directly tied directly to the presence of the show itself, and he has subconscious telekinetic abilities that allow him know everything and anything that happens around him at camp. Rumor has it that when the show ends, his heart will stop beating."
Yeah, bizarre huh? Bidoof really was originally supposed to be a much more obvious parody of TV culture and it's almost synthetic quality. But this was just a little... Too much. Older TPReboot was going to edge into horror a lot more openly and while this might have worked there, as it shifted into a more lighthearted sort (comparably), it became harder and harder to maintain before Bidoof's personality was exchanged for moreso a straightforward parody of Chris McLean.
Absol
Absol's an interesting one when discussing changes, cause beyond the basic premise of "girl with bad luck", she arguably has the least of her original DNA of the entire cast.
Absol, originally, was much more of a "valley girl" kind of character. A lot more slang, a lot more talkey, and considerably louder. The whole joke was she was a social butterfly who'd get someone hurt if she talked to them. She also had a quirk where she'd have denied ever being at fault for the world falling apart around her, pretty much pretending everyone else were crazy for thinking that anything was ever happening.
Basically, this stuff changed cause... It just wasn't especially likable? You can actually see bits and pieces of this older characterization in Take #1 of the story, but even fairly early there I realized this approach just... Wasn't really working. I think the rework into someone who maintains the extrovert half but with all the insecurity and worry surrounding her bad luck just made for a more interesting dynamic with the rest of the cast.
Also of note was she originally had a kinda "genius with disasters" sorta trait where she'd be really good at taking things apart. But that trait got sorta adopted into Cranidos, before getting dropped entirely. Funny how that works.
Gloom
Gloom's another bizarre one. If I had like, actually scaled everyone's original personality paragraph, I think Gloom's woulda been the shortest. Gloom's creator has a preference with bios to go fairly simple on personality but very expansive on backstory, and as a result, Gloom was pretty much all history. So figuring out what I wanted to do with him effectively came down mostly to deciding what I would and wouldn't keep from that section.
Namely, Gloom nowadays is much more of a villain. OG Gloom was... Not. He was always a bit of a jackass, but I'd have called him moreso sad than anything intimidating. The alcoholism was considerably more played up, and he'd be much more of an overt bum. Like Absol, you can actually see some traces of this in his characterization in Take #1, but I seemed to figure out quick that I wanted to go down the antagonist route with him.
I'd also say in general, Gloom's arc used to be way faster. You know how his story is sorta just beginning in Episode #4? Yeah, in Ep4 of Take #1, his arc was already done. Take #1 as a whole was personified most of all by a painfully fast speed. Everything was happening at once and all of it was just... Too quick. It just didn't allow much in the way of more subtle scenes, and really killed the story's pacing as a whole. I'm glad I've gotten considerably better at that sorta thing through learning from those older mistakes.
The Others
And finally, the characters... Who kinda deserve their own responses all together! Yeah, no kidding, these are the ones who have gone through so many collective changes in terms of design and ideas that they kinda just feel like whole other levels of behind the scenes anguish.
Specifically, I'd say Scolipede, Armarouge, Espeon, and Sceptile are characters we'll just... need to get back to another time.
Aside from that though, I hope this answered things well enough! This was a fun little look into these sorts of small shifts and changes. I love me a good "behind the scenes" sorta question, so if anyone has more of these, let me know!

So as the creator of Lampent I have some stuff in my brain , so uh, here are some fun things Originally Lampent was going to be Dusknoir, but the choice to switch to Lampent was in my opinion the correct choice, as Lampent is a fittingly silly mon for a silly character Doran is an Irish name meaning drifter or wanderer. Despite that, I don't really think of Lampent as Irish. They would probably be mixed, but I have no idea what. Lampent was originally conceived for an action season and probably fits there a little better, though I won't lie and say that I'm glad that Lampent has stuck around. Lampent is 100% going to win, Lampent is the best character, and we should all praise what they do.
that all.
MEET THE CAST
CONTESTANT No. 18 - Lampent
Tumblr media
Real Name: Doran Chaplin.
Role: The Drifter.
Pronouns: Any/all.
Age: 26.
Likes: Discovering weird, niche hobbies no one’s ever heard of.
Dislikes: Doing the same thing twice
Known for: Once got really into competitive yoyo tricks for exactly three days and somehow won a local tournament before quitting mid-celebration. And this is normal for them.
Why TDI?: Don't know. They seemingly just signed up on impulse.
To summarize Lampent is to pretend you get Lampent. And... That's a very difficult thing to do. They’re a drifter—always moving, always looking for the next thing. Not because they’re running from anything, really, they just get bored fast. One minute they’re learning how to carve tiny boats from driftwood, the next they’re deep into some obscure card game they picked up in a café somewhere—did you know there’s a version with 72 suits? Wild. Anyway, they’re super friendly, and like to talk to everyone, even if they don’t stick around long. Settling down gives them the creeps. Not that they’re unreliable! When something grabs their attention, they really focus—until it doesn’t. Oh, and they’ve been to, like, nine regions? Maybe ten. Lost count. Doesn’t matter. There’s always something new to try. Did I tell you about the time they learned glassblowing for a week? No? Never mind, it’s not important.
Will Lampent’s thrill for the new keep them one step ahead of the game? Or will their restless spirit send them spiraling off course when it matters most?

Fanfiction is great because you can see so clearly how people learn to write.
Some people, it's clear, learned almost entirely through absorbing the world around them. Grammar and punctuation will be all over the place, spellings are approximate, but the voice of the narration will come through so clearly. You can hear the dialect of the people around them as of they're telling the story. It's not a written story, it's a transcription of how they talk in their day to day life.
Some people learned through reading a gazillion books as a kid. Grammer and spelling will be rock solid, formatting occasionally based on the single tab of physical books rather than the double tab of online scrolling, but dialogue is often stilted and overly formal. You might notice a lack of contractions and very rigid rules they made for consistency that actually have a lot more flexibility than they think. They tend to have a fantastic grasp of sentence flow, though.
And other people formally learned how to write. This could be anywhere from taking school classes seriously because they enjoyed writing stories as a kid to literal certifications and jobs in the field. Grammer is flawless. Punctuation is triple checked. Foreign words are in italics. Characters have distinct voices. But their self indulgence is tempered by perfectionism. They know precisely what they want from a fic. Authors notes often feature mutterings about their happiness with the chapter. Kaomojis often appear! They seek a style to their writing, and it makes for some wonderfully clever plots! These are the ones most likely to get fun with formatting!
And some people.... Some people examined it all. They dissect dialogue, people watch, cross reference behaviours and compare characters to people irl. You can tell almost immediately who had formative experiences with Terry pratchett and/or ghibli, because it's these people. While others see writing as fun, expression, craft, they see it as art. Plain and simple. Sure, the grammar is occasionally sacrificed on the altar of creative freedom, and the occasional sentence might miss a full stop, but these people seem to self reflect on themselves as part of the art making process. On occasion, these people have the most masterful grasp of dialogue and invocation and hand sewn characterisations. Formatting is pretty standard because all the focus is on the actual words. These fics can be edited to the moon and back!
All of these can vary wildly in forethought and quality, and betas can often catch individual problems before they hit post, but just. Isn't it so cool? What's that one Oscar Wilde quote about every mask just being another fragment of yourself?
Did you recognise yourself?

Well, this officially exists!
Welcome to the unofficially official TPReboot Tumblr page. This basically just exists for the sake of archiving and properly answering any and all behind the scenes related content for TPReboot, a story crossing over Total Drama and Pokémon I have put a needlessly large amount of effort into.
For those wondering what TPReboot actually is: it focuses on a crop of 24 contestants (all Pokémon of various species) arriving on the Orange Archipelago to compete for a cash prize of over one million Pokédollars. It effectively asks, "what if Total Drama existed in a world akin to Pokémon: Mystery Dungeon?" And I like to pretend the result is... At least kinda interesting!
Right now the story exists properly on two websites: Fanfiction.NET and Archive of Our Own (though this one consistently gives me trouble so it tends to be a bit behind). You can find links for them here: FF-
Ao3- https://archiveofourown.org/works/55126960/chapters/139781746
There's also an official companion piece to the series, named "Conversations with Strangers" (yes, referring to exactly what you think it does), featuring short stories surrounding the cast outside of the competition. These are basically additional lore tidbits, what if's, and genre dips that are all kinda experimental in nature. It's for anyone and everyone who feels like they want more from these characters that isn't competition based. You can currently only find it on Fanfiction.NET right here:
If for whatever reason you're into discovering strange, niche fanfiction for properties you're too invested in, or just wanted something to do today, feel free to pop by every once in a while. I won't guarantee this'll be an extremely active account, but I do got a lot of stuff to say so hopefully at least some of said stuff will catch your eye in a good way.

A lot more than once in a lifetime
Every now and again, I see this specific video, it's in my watch later playlist so that's why it shows up, but it's not a video I would watch normally so every time it shows up I just always recognise it. Anyways when ever it shows up, I'll pop by here and give a little check in on my mental state and just how my life is. Preamble over, right now is the first day of the last break before i start term 4 of my schooling, which than leads directly into year 12 and in truth, I'm scared, but hopeful.
I'm pretty good besides that, just working on stuff. I'm happy with my video output as of late, It's good the amount of video's I've had released
thats all
good night

Soulmates aren't just lovers–they're friends too. Your soulmates naturally recognize you, vibe with you & align with you. They see you, hear you, understand you, support you, love you, heal with you & grow with you. They make you feel beautiful in your own skin just for being you

media literacy is fucking based and if you engage with media (IE ANY FUCKING PIECE OF ENTERTAINMENT) on a regular basis you should at least try to understand it. I'm not saying like you have to fully understand the concept to like peak super smart brain capacity, but I think most people could spend at least a day on the topic and end up just being so much better off.
