how long will you allow for a snake to knaw on your veins before the venom overcomes you?   ───   this girl group was thought to have been created to empower the female audience, hence the name virago which means female warrior. hong kyungsoo had other plans.

virago is a south korean girl group that debuted on valentines day 2016. the first and last of girl group under the company, the group was known for being “monster rookies”, dominating charts with their debut single “dun dun”. the group would silently disband after their concept change with their comeback “miniskirt” received backlash for being inappropriate, soon being buried by the success of serenade.

PYTHON SOCIETY GIVES JUMPSCARE REVEAL OF THE OFFICIAL EYES OF ANGELS LINEUP.

python society decided to reveal(?) their newest group eyes of angels members this halloween through posts of their costumes and fans are shocked at the lineup. here’s everything netizens got wrong:

the amount of members (6 instead of suspected 5).

the gender of the group (coed instead of full girl group, perhaps python society was scared of another virago).

speaking of virago, the members returning for eyes of angels was also false. no member of virago returned (rightfully so).

anyways 🌚 lets get to know the members and who they decided to be for halloween this year. there’s some familiar faces here.

min sarang as scarah screams: we do not have much information about sarang as alongside august because they are the two members who are for the first time being revealed to the public. what we do know however, is that sarang is apparently the niece of ceo hong kyungsoo, training under the company since its creation and the company’s first ever trainee. why she hasn’t debuted after nearly ten years, we’re not sure. can we even consider her a nepo baby when she’s been in the dungeon for so long?

august kim as ronald mcdonald: like sarang we don’t know much about august compared to the other members because she just got to south korea a month ago? born in chicago, illinois, august was scouted by python society through instagram dms after the scouting agent saw her kpop covers and performances, specifically to darker concepts. hong kyungsoo took a chance and flew her to korea to be the final member of eyes of angels, lets hope it was worth it.

shao liyun as cleo de nile: the only member of this group who was correctly guessed by netizens. she has been a very popular trainee under python society since she failed to make the lineup of love club for not fitting the concept (arguable). she stayed under python as a choreographer for their groups, creating a lot of the company’s most viral dance moments, so fans are anticipating her main dancer position and the choreo she will assign the group to perform.

harlan suh as chuck e cheese: you know him, you love him. the leader of serenade was an unexpected addition to eyes of angels due to the fact that he is still promoting in a group. one of the most popular members of serenade, and a great leader, hong kyungsoo needed harlan in the group to “ensure immediate success”. probably a bit nervous about it being his first group in four years and breaking out of the python society mold. we’re excited to see how he differs in eoa from serenade, and hope for his mental and physical health.

hwang jihoon as lego batman: another safe option for python society, jihoon is also well known under the company as a producer. why hong kyungsoo has hired so many of his staff to debut? maybe to make a self producing group? so he can do less work? not out of character. a dynamic duo with now group mate liyun, the duo have made most of python society’s biggest hits, we’re sure they will do the same for eyes of angels as well.

the group also made a surprise appearance at glasshouse’s phantom manor, a shock to many since they have not even debuted, and no other python society artists attended the event (whether by choice or force to not take away spotlight from eyes of angels’ reveal, we aren’t sure).

aside from our detective netizens being terrible at their jobs and only guessing one potential trainee correctly (liyun) we still have high hopes for this group (and maybe a bit of concern around harlan being in two groups at once but what can we do?)

HOW PYTHON SOCIETY SABOTAGED ITS FIRST EVER GROUP ─── AND WE LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT.

the  smallest  child  can  crush  a  python  egg.  but  let  the  snake  hatch  and  grow  and  the  python  will  squeeze  and  devour  the  child   ───   do you remember monster rookies virago? don’t worry if not, not a lot of people do, they were covered very meticulously by the company that was supposed to manage and protect them but instead failed them.

python  society  opened  their  doors  to  trainees  on  a  tuesday.  it  was  raining,  several  trainees  left  the  floor  at  the  entrance  wet  due  to  their  umbrellas  or  lack  there  of.  there  were  twenty  trainees  there  that  day,  kyungsoo  would  only  choose  two  that  day  to  continue  training.  many  people  believe  in  luck  coming  with  the  rain,  but  was  joining  python society  luck?  or  was  it  a  cruel  twist  of  fate  to  those  who  fell  into  the  python’s  jaw?

it  was  raining  when  hong  kyungsoo  decided  to  make  python  society.  he  was  always  a  man  who  wanted  to  be  rich  but  never  wanted  to  work  for  it  himself.  finding  himself  working  a  9  to  5,  five  days  a  week  was  enough  to  push  him  over  the  edge  and  become  impulsive.  he  and  his  sister  were  drunk  at  a  bar  and  he  was  desperate  for  anyway  to  quit  his  job  and  still  get  rich.  he  drew  the  name  and  a  rough  logo  onto  the  napkin  he’d  just  used  to  wipe  the  ketchup  from  his  fingers  after  finishing  his  fries.  the  company  was  sloppy  and  unprofessional  from  the  start.

python  society  thankfully  found  success  almost  immediately.  debuting  the  four  girls  was  risky,  though  members  like  eunju  had  been  training  under  the  company  for  about a year,  yiru  had  just  gotten  to  south  korea  about  a  month  prior.  the  possibilities  of  failure  fell  upon  kyungsoo’s  deaf  ears.  he  couldn’t  stand  not  earning  much  money  anymore,  he  needed  a  group  to  bring  in  the  money.  and  that’s  what  virago  did, at least at first. debuting  in  2016,  the  company’s  only  girl  group (or group period),  virago  stole  the  title  of  monster  rookies  days  after  their  debut.  their  debut  was  random  and  rushed,  kind  out  of  nowhere.  barely  any  kpop  enjoyers  even  knew  that  python  society  existed,  and  with  no  teasers  or  any  build  up,  virago  just  . . .  appeared.  but  the  music  was  good,  if  nothing  else,  python  society  has  always  had  good  music.  something  that’s  protected  them  for  very  long.  virago  also  happened  to  be  handpicked  with  visuals  kyungsoo  knew  would  succeed,  knew  would  get  them  money,  knew  would  be  suited  for  sexier  concepts.

virago kept up their “girl crush” concept for one comeback before switching to become more sexy, to appeal to male audiences. it was subtle at first, the sound changing a bit, the girls’ skirts getting shorter, small stuff that can now be seen as concerning, but back then, were too small to bring negative attention. after all, the men, virago’s new intended audience, liked it. isn’t that what matters?

push came to shove with virago’s third release “miniskirt”. released on december 9th, 2016, at the time of the release, yiru was only recently 16, with the oldest member cori turning 21 a week later. the reaction was mixed of course. a lot of the male fans, and even some female fans were overjoyed, excited to have gotten the sexy concept they wanted without having to wait until everyone was legal, but everyone else was rightfully disgusted and upset. not only that kyungsoo would even think this was okay, but because on every single fancam of yiru’s (and some other members occasionally, but they were trained to “suck it up”) the girl looked extremely distressed and uncomfortable.

hong kyungsoo has never really solved a problem or faced controversy in his entire life, so instead of apologizing, changing the concept, pretty much anything, he decided to create another group to try and cover up the scandal, unfortunately succeeding. serenade took up all the attention from virago the second they were revealed and the build your boy virago, kyungsoo disbanded them quietly in november 2017, no vlive, no concert or tour, all of the social media just deleted, and their name erased off of the company’s website.

yiru and dahyun left the company sometime between 2018 and 2020, and the remaining two members, cori and eunju allegedly still under the company and netizens are hopefully awaiting their redebut in the company’s new girl group. do you feel like you failed virago? could we have done more? or were they to damaged to be saved?

YOU ARE IN TERRIBLE DANGER ─── taking place in the year 5000, nearly a century since world war 4, everything is different. to prevent another war, the world became controlled by just one governmental entity named the PRESTIGE REGIME. after all, most of the countries from before were destroyed, leaving all of the survivors to flee to a common continent.

after a rather short cool down period from the war, PRESTIGE took it upon themselves to rebuild their new nation. after waiting a month for any more survivors, PRESTIGE would close off the borders and begin to work on controlling their new country.

every citizen was inserted with a chip just below their left ear, used to track the citizens as well as monitor their behavior to look out for anything against their new constitution, considered demonic.

the ANGEL EYES PROJECT was created to cleanse the country of the “devils” trying to poison it and start another war by disobeying the government’s orders. consisting of but not limited to no music, no dancing, no bright clothing, no speaking out against the government, and no missing a single day of school/work no matter the circumstance.

the process was quite literal, their eyes being inserted with cameras so that the government could track their movements and make sure they stay in line. if they stayed on good territory for long enough, they could be promoted to act as surveillance around the country to help PRESTIGE monitor others who may step out of line. it was presented as an alternative to other punishments like death, but was perhaps worse. if they were dead, they wouldn’t have to suffer with constantly being monitored and having no freedom.

the five members of EYES OF ANGELS are victims of the project, on the run after successfully getting rid of the cameras in their eyes (some better off than others). but with PRESTIGE having eyes wherever they go, will they actually have a chance to survive?

EYES OF ANGELS ─── is a rumored fictional south korean girl group allegedly to debut late october - early november under python society. the first of the company to not debut on valentines day or with a brighter concept, and with seemingly a whole different concept overall than the company has ever produced, fans are sat in anticipation for what python society has planned for them (if netizens haven’t just made this whole thing up).

based off of a mix of who fans are hoping to debut soon and trainees that have been documented entering and leaving the company doors over the past few months, netizens have gathered a group of eight possible girls that may make the final lineup. notably including three former members of the company’s failed group virago (far right and far left).
