Ophelia wandered into the library looking for some books on herbology, mostly to help her study for her next exams. As she scanned the aisle ends for which ones would hold the subject, she felt herself collide with another. “That’s… fine.” Ophelia answered hesitantly, not sure how to take the following comment. “Um, I guess I don’t. Blue does wash me out a smidge.” She looked down at her robes, distracted and trying to figure out what she meant. She thought her just being taller than average was enouh to make her stand out even a little.

Paisley was wandering around the library, looking for something interesting to read. A fourth year had accidentally been practicing “Densaugeo” on some innocent first years. After sending sending the victims to the Hospital Wing to get their rapidly-growing teeth back to normal, she disposed of the fourth year’s sugar quills and Bertie Bott’s Beans. She would have stayed and worked on assignments, but she couldn’t stand the noise in the common room. She came to the library looking for some peace and quiet. 

After searching for a bit, her gaze landed upon one of her old favorites. The Tales of Beetle and the Bard. She used to read it all the time when she was younger. It had been years since she had even touched a copy of the book. She retrieved it from the tall shelf and immediately started reading it.

She had all but memorized the layout of the Hogwarts Library, so she wasn’t really paying attention to her surroundings as she started to walk to a table. She didn’t notice when someone crossed her path, so she walked right into them. She dropped her book when she collided with the other student, “Oh!” she exclaimed. “Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going. You don’t exactly stand out in your school robes. No offense.”

I’m not even going to take the time to date this bullshit. It’s not like I’m gonna forget when this happened. And yes, I do realize that simply writing the date would take much less time then writing out my personal commentary. Raise your hand if you give a shit. Oh, right. You’re an inanimate object. My sister left for North America today. Now both of my siblings are on different continents and that leaves me alone with my parents. Great. I guess I shouldn’t complain too much. It’s not like they’re abusive or something. They’re just assholes. And I have to live with them. Well, I guess I don’t have to, but running away isn’t in my best interests. 

It sucks that the only things I actually want to do with my life can’t ever be guaranteed to happen. Like how I want to be a professional quidditch player. What if I’m not good enough? What if I get injured and can’t play? Or my childhood dream of becoming an actress. Once again, what if I’m not good enough? What if I flop at an audition? I’m not gonna let myself end up stuck with some lame ministry job, but if I can’t get a spot on a team or a part in whatever I audition for, that could leave me at home for who knows how long.

I don’t even know what started my hatred for my parents. I just can’t fucking stand them. They belittle me and talk to me as if my vocabulary consists of 10 words, but treat me like I should know how to perfectly concoct Felix Felicis.

Isn’t writing down your feelings supposed to help you? It isn’t helping me. Why the fuck am I even doing this?

Maybe I’ll go for a fly through the grove.

Or do some target practice with a few new spells.
