i hate when people make fun of the "do yoga go for a jog drink water eat healthy get 8 hours of sleep" advice for mental health. theyre like OH THANKS IM CURED when the sentiment is not a CURE but an IMPROVEMENT i promise you if someone drags you out of your bed and forces you to go for a mile run you will ultimately feel better than if you stayed in your depression hole of a room covered in food containers and clothes on the floor for another 72 hours i PROMISE U. its not a cure but it is a step in the right direction with clinically proven benefits i say this as someone diagnosed w major depressive disorder stop being so cynical u have to actively engage w trying to get better

I know I haven’t been super active lately, but I recently lost my sweet kitty girl. She was definitely the pet who will stick with me for the rest of my life-- we had the best bond. I have since adopted a new kitty friend named Squeak. He has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and while the treatment is something I can afford, the diagnostics when I adopted him plus the cost of Ki’s end of life care totaled over $1000 at the vet in under a month. As a grad student, this is far out of my budget and currently just languishing on my credit card and will remain there for an indefinite amount of time. I’m asking for help paying off these vet bills so that I can continue to give Squeak a good home while still being able to afford food and housing for myself.
