Pairing: Warrior, Twilight, Legend x GN! Reader
Requested by @temporarilyablog: i see requests are open still so im coming to you with a thought i had recently: how about a Link from the Chain interacting with the reader, another Link's s/o from their original adventures, when *their* Link isn't around. i can see some teasing another Link with the reader that they've only known through little stories here and here, or others grilling the reader relentlessly because another Link was so shy about their relationship and partner, and wants to know how that Link is like around someone he allows himself to relax. its kinda like when the Chain met Malon for the first time and interacted with her for stories about old man Time and as always stay awesome, i love your writing!

Concerningly delighted or eerily eager - the Chain can't quite agree on which descriptor best described their teammate the best once he realized they had all landed in his Hyrule. Bubbling with excitement ever since while maintaining a pace some of the other boys have to jog after, Link doesn’t waste breath saying where he’s leading them, although that giddy smile upon his face - as much as he tries to hide it - is plenty for the wiser heroes to get the hint...

Taking numerous shortcuts that avoid public attention, Warrior skillfully navigates the familiar streets of Castle Town with his only pause being at the doorstep of his apparent destination. There, he takes a quick second to smooth his hair and perfect his uniform before knocking a fist against the chestnut wood.
The curious murmurs of the boys huddled behind him adds ambience to his impatient wait where his thoughts temporarily worry that perhaps you aren't awake yet, after all the sun is only just rising above the waking town, however true to your many letters which have complaint of insomnia during his absence, the door soon opens not more than a minute later to reveal your tired figure.
Even with a mess of bedhead and a robe tied lazily around yourself, you look beautiful and sacred in Warrior's eyes - an observation he isn't alone in making. Some mainly Legend had doubted that you were even real or at the very least matching to the Captain’s honey-soaked descriptions, although none can deny how well you truly hold up to that image.
You awake in a snap and leap into your lover's arms with a cry of joy; a feeling that is contagious throughout the group who watches on in silent amusement. Suddenly their friend's excitement makes plenty of sense, especially knowing how much he's missed you throughout their journey. Seriously, he's never shut up about it!
You can't rid of the smile on your face when Warrior finally takes his attention off of you long enough to introduce the others, all of whom you’ve already learned about from his letters. Without hesitation, you invite the group of worn travelers into your home while waving off any concern raised about possibly intruding at such an ungodly hour.
"Nonsense. You’re all welcome here any time. I know from personal experience how much rest can mean during a long and perilous journey.”
"My love is a captain, as well~" Warrior brags proudly, his arm wrapped snugly around your waist as you both stand aside to let the others file through into the warmth of your home.
"We know. You've only mentioned it a dozen times," Four rolls his eyes teasingly while passing by.
"So I take it you all already know about me then. Hopefully all good things?" You eye Warrior with mocked suspicion, yet he’s hardly fazed, dodging any blame by pressing a quick kiss to your cheek.
"Of course. The trick is getting him to shut up about you," Twilight says, earning a laugh. You couldn’t deny it if you tried - that sure does sound like your Link, and seeing as he does nothing to argue against the claim, instead pressing another longer kiss to your cheek, he recognizes he’s a guilty man.
The group is simply happy for the chance to finally rest their feet somewhere homely, although none complain to your offer of throwing together breakfast, even if it’s just a small one made up of some toast, eggs, and a first-come-first-serve fruit bowl. While you gather this makeshift meal, Warrior remains practically glued to your side, sneaking kisses and lingering touches whenever he can manage before you shoo him away playfully.
The heroes have all experienced their fair share of interesting and distinctive adventures, however rather than saying much about themselves, they favor asking about you, wanting to confirm if everything Warrior has said is true, after all he’s built you up to be a talented soldier who’s sword should be feared by even the fiercest of monsters. It’s not to say they doubt it based on your build and stern undertone, but it would still be nice to hear from you personally.
You admit to your reputation, however are too modest to exactly rave about your military achievements or detail your victories during war. That role is left to your boyfriend who’s unafraid to brag for your sake while tying in as many compliments as possible, both professional and of the romantical sort. As for the boys, they only interrupt with brief questions or comments, mostly related to your relationship as curiosity and thirst for mischief get the better of some of them.
“Sounds like he was smitten at first sight,” Sky smirks after hearing the story of your initial meeting, not that he could ever judge. If anything, seeing you both together warms his heart with the memory of his own lover.
“Was the feeling mutual?” Someone else asks teasingly.
For once, Warrior remains silent, glancing at you subtly in an attempt to hide his own interest towards the answer. While you certainly struck him dumb with one look, your own expression had always held a bit of resentment during those early days, your attitude strict and standards held impossibly high - higher than they were for any other subordinate.
Link never blamed you, though. If anything, it made perfect sense for you to not be his biggest fan. All of your hard work had been largely overshadowed by the discovery of Hyrule’s new hero, his simple existence being to blame for the war you then had to fight tirelessly through. You weren’t willing to give him a pass just because of his shiny title and pretty face, instead holding him to expectations you’d set for anyone destined to defeat Ganondorf. He had to earn your trust and love overtime, at least what he always assumed.
Yet to Warrior’s surprise, you become slightly bashful as you stubbornly redirect your gaze and answer, “...I admit I found him attractive - both in appearance and personality…A little too cocky, though, and not the best listener there in the start. He had to be trained out of that habit.”
Startled by this revelation, Warrior mocks offense, “You barely gave me the time of day!” 
“I was putting your ego in check,” You reply easily.
“So you were playing hard to get that whole time?”
“Oh please, you were enjoying it,” You smirk, leaning in for the challenge with your noses centimeters apart. 
For a second, it’s as if you’ve forgotten about your guests, too busy staring into each other’s eyes affectionately, that is until Legend scoffs while biting into an apple, "If our captain here was smart, he'd hurry up and put a ring on it before you finally come to your senses."
Warrior’s eyes widen into a look of horror after the Veteran's comment, yet you take it in stride, laughing as you pat your boyfriend’s chest, “There’s really no need to rush, after all, life has only recently started calming down following Ganon, and the hope is that neither of us will be going anywhere anytime soon…assuming that you boys help keep this one out of trouble during your adventure.”
“Aye, aye, Captain!” The group cheers with a chorus of amused laughter resulting from Warrior’s flustered face; a rare sight they plan to memorize.
Your smile remains even as you lift yourself to sit on the counter where you can nibble on your piece of toast, Warrior following in suit with a huff while he shamelessly pouts like a child at your side. Alas, you merely find it endearing, kissing his cheek which seems to be addicting enough to have him chasing after your lips, pecking them as he takes your free hand in his and whispers in your ear for no one else to hear, “I’ll have you know I already have a ring.”
“And I’ll have you know I’ve already found it,” You smirk, placing a finger against his lips, “Keep trying and maybe one day you’ll be able to get one step ahead of me, my dear captain.”
He huffs again before stealing a quick bite of your toast.

The boys chase Twilight blindly through what appears to be a forest no different than the many others they’ve already traveled through during their adventure, however it’s when crossing a long wooden bridge over a canyon that they begin to connect the dots as to where they really are; a point soon proven correct once reaching a small treehouse standing by its lonesome amongst a meadow.
Even Epona seems eager to arrive here, confirming this is somewhere familiar to the two. She’s pleased to busy herself by grazing outside while her rider has other plans, leading his comrades up a steep ladder and into his cozy home. He invites them to make themselves comfortable, although he’s still clearly distracted by another thought himself. 
His eyes search the house excitedly, disappointment echoing on his face when he doesn’t seem to find what he’s looking for. He looks no different than a kicked puppy, his smile drooping into a frown that he doesn’t explain. There’s no need to. As quickly as his joy had soured, it returns in a blink when the front door once again opens from behind the group.
You’re understandably startled to look up and find eight heavily armed men crowded around in your house, however your surprise doesn’t stand long. Swiftly, you’re scooped up into someone’s arms then spun with ease. It only takes you seconds to realize it’s your lover doing, having already assumed he’d be somewhere within this party of travelers seeing as his loyal mare had been there to greet you just outside.
To say you’re both delighted to see each other again would be an understatement. You’ve been impatient awaiting the day Link returns, only having so many ways to distract yourself from his absence in this small village. With that said, you have no objections to the deep kiss he steals, instead savoring it as your arms steady themselves around his neck while he still holds you off the ground against his chest. It’s a display that has some of the boys gagging in mocked disgust, although most merely smile, finding joy through that of their brother’s. After all, if he can be this happy, maybe there’s hope for all of them.
Twilight has, of course, frequently mentioned you before to the heroes, but had never gone into too much detail nor had he exactly specified the extent of your relationship. Nevertheless, the boys already assumed you to be a lover, after all, you would have to be someone special to always occupy a rent-free space in their dear rancher’s head.
Only Time, Wild, and Four knew the exact specifics because one, they had actually gone out of their way to respectfully ask, and two, Twilight trusted them enough not to relentlessly tease. Seeing how long it took Warrior to drop the dog jokes after finding out his ‘wolfie secret’, Twilight could only imagine the jester that damned captain would become if possessing any other information about his intimate life…A fear proven rational now that the cat’s officially out of the bag.
Fortunately or unfortunately - Your boyfriend has yet to decide - you seemed to instantly forget that the eight travelers are total strangers to you and insisted they all stay the night; a kind hearted offer born from good intentions, but also the perfect opportunity for the boys to plan their rancher’s downfall by mercilessly interrogating you about your relationship.
“When did you guys meet and where?”
“Did he make the first move or did you?”
“How’d he ask you out?”
“Do you ever get tired of the dog smell?”
Twilight rolls his eyes, finding himself slowly regretting this whole show-and-tell of his lover. He should’ve just slipped away from the group and snuck home to visit you. They would’ve been none the wiser seeing as he often strays as Wolfie anyway. Surely had he told Four or Wild, they would’ve covered for him. Now he’s stuck listening to this meet-and-greet with the one person who knows all the good dirt there is to be found on him. It doesn’t help that you answer every question as if it’s your sworn duty assigned by Hylia herself.
“We met in Castle Town - back when he first set out to become a hero. Poor guy was completely lost, so I took pity upon him by pointing him in the right direction.”
“He made the first move, although I’d like to think I gave him a good push.”
“Oh, that’s one of my favorite memories! He set up this beautiful little picnic at Lake Hylia. It was very romantic.”
“...Sometimes, yeah.”
“Do you have any embarrassing stories to tell about him?” Wild asks with a devilish grin, taking joy in the betrayal that cuts across Twilight’s face.
“The better question would be where to start -”
“- Alright, alright. You’ve all had your fun. Don’t overwhelm them now,” Twilight cuts into the conversation at last, moving behind you with his hands set upon your shoulder. You wouldn’t be able to see it from where you sit, but he’s sending a warning glare to the other heroes who are hardly intimated.
“Oh come on! We’re just making up for lost time since you refuse to tell us anything about this lovely beauty,” Warrior punctuates his sentence by winking your way, making it clear he knows exactly how to push his friend’s buttons.
Twilight almost growls, seconds away from kicking everyone out under the stars for the night, however with your soft hand set upon his own, you smile up at him sweetly, “They’re okay, Link. I don’t mind the questions.”
‘I do,’ he wants to object, but he’s weak against your pleading eyes. With no other choice, he’s forced to sigh and take the seat next to you. The price of this compromise is your hand which he refuses to let go of, instead keeping it rested against his lap as the group eagerly continues teasing him questioning you.
“Have you always lived together?” Sky asks, perhaps the only one here who is truly innocent with his curiosity.
“Not until recently. It took some convincing for my family.”
“What, the goats and farm smells didn’t appeal to them?” Legend snickers playfully.
“Not exactly…” You grimace.
“They’re a well known noble family from Castle Town,” For once, Twilight answers a question himself, squeezing your hand with a smile that’s really closer to a smirk, “‘don’t think they cared much for their eldest running away with some plain o’ ranch hand.”
You return the action just as smugly, “But you won them over in the end.”
“Or they were just happy to get rid of ya’.”
“Why not a little of both?” You shrug before pecking his nose which leaves him grinning like a lovesick puppy. Legend sticks his tongue out and Warrior tells you both to get a room, prompting Twilight to promptly remind him whose house they’re currently in.
The rest of the Chain laughs heartily, save for Time who has been the only hero apparently mature enough not to actively take part in poking a wolf. He has simply been listening in respectful silence with his arms crossed over his chest and a small smile of amusement upon his face. Honestly, his presence could’ve been completely forgotten if not for him finally choosing to speak up as soon as the laughter dies down, “And does he behave himself around you?”
Twilight nearly chokes on his saliva and even you blush at this question, but you don't hesitate to offer an endearing nod, “Oh, of course. Link’s a perfect gentleman. I couldn’t possibly ask for anyone better.”
This seems to satisfy Time who returns your nod proudly, his smirk evident when Twilight dares take a peek at him, although the younger man struggles to fully face anyone beyond that; he’s too busy rubbing away the embarrassment from his face. 
Taking this as a sign that he’s officially reached his limit, you dismiss any further questions while placing a comforting hand on your boyfriend’s shoulder, yet your sympathy is a poor mask placed over the clear mirth even you take in his flustered state.

Legend never bothers announcing himself upon arriving home, although that’s something you’ve come to expect from your adventurous and often absent roommate. Seeing as you don’t get many visitors, it’s safe to assume it’s either him or Ravio whenever the front door creaks open, but nevertheless, you poke your head around the corner just to be certain. Yep, it’s Link…along with a group of strange boys?
“Funny. I didn’t think you had any friends,” Is your greeting as you lean against the doorway.
“You’re one to talk,” Legend scoffs back while simply brushing past you towards his chest room, “I’m just here to grab a few things and then we’ll be on our way.”
“Ah,” You nod, already accustomed to this pattern. As common as it is for his homecomings to lack any fanfare, it’s also fairly usual for his presence here to be short-lived so long as he has his sights set on adventure. Occasionally, he’ll take the time to fill you in on what he’s exactly doing, especially if planning on staying for a meal or nap, but other times, he’s in and out that door without a word.
You don’t mind, after all it’s exactly what you knew you’d be getting yourself into when you first agreed to move in, however it seems this group of travelers Legend’s brought along with him aren’t so used to his solitary ways. They all huddle awkwardly around the door, their eyes darting across the room and at times landing on you in clear curiosity that goes unspoken for now. You take it they’re unsure as to what they should be doing while waiting for Legend.
“Make yourselves comfortable. I’m sure he’ll only be a minute or two,” Your invitation is gladly accepted by the boys who quickly fill into the room instead of remaining in their crowded bundle. A few sit on whatever stools there are available at the table, but most remain standing. 
Faced with either awkward silence or a basic conversation, you decide to introduce yourself, telling them all your name with a friendly smile, “‘not sure if Link mentioned me or not, but I live here with him. I promise I’m not just some homeless person who broke in while he was away.”
“We didn’t think you were,” One chuckles stiffly, likely taking your comment as an odd ‘joke’. If only they knew about Ravio…
“Sooo, are you Lege - Link’s…Um -”
“- Roommate? Yeah. ‘have been for the last year.”
A brunette boy raises an eyebrow, even going as far as to squint his eyes at you as if you’ll suddenly confess to being a robber or something, “Are you only ‘roommates’ or…?”
"Well, what else would we be?" You ask, cocking your head to the side innocently. The boys all stare at you in disbelief.
“It’s just - The Vet talks about you all the time. Like, all the time!”
“Does he?” Now that’s a nice thought: Legend going out of his way to tell his traveling companions about you, speaking your name as if you’re someone important to him who always occupies a section of his mind…Oh, but you doubt it’s anything like that. He’s likely only mentioned you once and they’re exaggerating.
“I don’t know if he does ‘all the time’,” The shortest of the room argues almost as if reading your mind before adding more seriously, “But he has mentioned you. Pretty fondly, I’d say.”
“With the lovey-dovey eyes and everything,” The knight of the group nudges one of his friends teasingly and they both share a laugh.
You find it contagious, “If that were true, I’d suggest you check to make sure he hasn’t gotten a concussion. ‘Lovey-dovey’? Now that doesn’t sound like my Link.”
“What doesn’t sound like me?”
A few of the boys go pale while others smirk almost as if they take pleasure in having been caught. You never even heard Legend approach, although one look to your side and you see him already standing there with crossed arms, his eyes narrowed towards his friends.
You open your mouth, prepared to brush aside his worries and assure him they haven’t been saying anything bad about him behind his back, but then the youngest boy suddenly blurts: “Have you guys ever kissed before?!”
His question earns him a sharp elbow to the side and an even quicker scolding in a whispered tone, however the damage has already been done, particularly to your face which feels rather warm now. So that’s why they all seemed so confused by the whole ‘roommate’ thing. Apparently they doubt that’s the full story…
"No! I-I mean, not really...- It's not like we're a couple or anything if that’s what you’re thinking. We're just friends who decided to live together for convenience sake, that's all!" You explain in a rush.
“I needed someone to watch my house and stuff while I was away!” Legend adds, his face as red as his own tunic. Whether that’s from embarrassment or anger, you can’t tell, although the later might be the best guess given his puffed up cheeks. 
“Exactly! And I needed a place to stay.”
“Precisely! It was a ‘kill-two-birds-with-one-stone’ type of situation.”
“Simple as that!”
The group of travelers sit in silence, their eyes switching between Legend and you. Despite the diversity amongst them, they all manage the same deadpan expression; not a single one of them believes you, but then again, you’re not here for their approval. Hell, they’re in your house - Well, Legend’s house - NOT THAT IT MATTERS! You don’t owe these people an explanation for why you happen to live with a guy you may or may not find attractive! They’re not going to get one either!
Clapping your hands together, you do your best to change the subject, “So, no one’s told me how you guys have met yet. Let’s talk about that.”

.
Legend said they’d only be staying long enough to change his items, however that was a couple hours ago. You had lots of questions about finding out every stranger in your house was actually another version of him, all brought together across different timelines and kingdoms. A whole recap and dinner later, it had gotten late with many of the boys looking visibly tired from weeks on the road.
“What’s with the face?”
You want to call Link - your Link - a hypocrite because he’s had the same stupid pout on his face ever since he lost the vote on where they’d be staying for the night. You insisted that it be here, seeing no sensible reason for them to go camp elsewhere in the cold when they could have a warm roof over their heads. He did everything he could to argue, yet nine outweigh one.
“I’m just thinking about what your friends said earlier,” You sigh, rolling onto your back where you can stare at the ceiling instead of into his eyes as he lays next you. With the living room overflowing with guests, you’ve been forced to share a bed for the night not that you haven’t occasionally done it before, “I can’t believe they thought we’re dating. We’re friends who live together. That’s not illegal, is it?”
“Hmm.”
“And before they were saying you talk about me all the time like that means you’re in love with me or something. Like, I’m a fact of your life, sure, but I’m not your life itself, you know? It would be weirder for you to completely avoid mentioning me to other people.”
“...Yeah…”
“A-And maybe - just maybe - we’ve kissed before, but no further than a peck to the cheek or forehead…Only once have our lips actually touched…” You roll back onto your side to face him, biting your lip as you whisper, “...Maybe we should start putting more distance between ourselves to avoid any more misunderstandings like this…I’m sure if those boys already think we’re dating, the whole village must think it’s true.”
“...Or we could just do the opposite…” 
“What do you mean?”
Legend curls his face further against the pillow and his folded hands, doing everything he can to avoid your eyes as he mumbles barely audible words, “Clearly everyone is going to assume we’re in a relationship anyway, so we might as well avoid the hassle of having to explaining they’re wrong each time by just making it official…”
You blink, his hinted suggestion taking a few seconds to set in, although once it does you can’t help smirking. Leaning forward, you kiss his nose, causing his cheeks to flare as he stubbornly jerks away, “How convenient! I was recently thinking about looking for a boyfriend, but so long as you’re offering, you’ve saved me the trouble of finding someone as good as you!”
Legend grumbles, however that doesn’t stop him from inching closer to you and kissing your forehead, “...Just don’t say anything to them tomorrow or else I’ll never hear the end of it.”

After a few months of travelling together it was only to be expected that they would catch onto your little habits, especially if it was one that put you in harms way so many times.
characters — Chain, romantic or platonic (platonic only!Wind)
warnings — gore&blood, !depiction of deep wounds!, canon-typical violence, reader is reckless™ and has no sense of self-preservation, a sliver of harmful thoughts (sky!time!), poorly described battles; mild angst with comfort (hyrule!), hints of player!au.
Wow, i finally finished this thing, took me longer than i thought. Anyways, there are a few parts that don't really follow the game line of battle, as I've adapted some things just... because i thought it'd be fun, but i hope you guys enjoy it all the same. Also tagging the dearest @cloudninetonine, didn't know which blog you would prefer so i used the one more related to LU, i hope it is up to your standards, Cloud. also, i said twi part was long? you can't wait to see legend's then.

At first it wasn't anything too eye catching.
The heroes already knew you were... hopeless when it came to fighting, the few experiences in combat you had beside them proved as much, and they didn't mind it, you helped them enough around the camp, always eager to do something when it was possible.
And while they did train you enough to at least hold out on your own in urgent cases, they didn't expect you to become a seasoned warrior like most of them, you had no need or obligation to, after all, not being bound by duty like them.
However, a few experiences in battle were enough to prove them, that yes, your less than ideal choices, were, against all odds, made rationally.

Timeʼ
It was an oversight.
A terribly, horrid, oversight.
One that, goddess fobid, could've costed your life, as you full on charged at the monster trapping him under it's claw, sending both you and the shadow beast toppling over, a disorienting groan falling from your lips as you crashed onto the floor, barely escaping the clawed hands that reached out for you, your unsteady dominant hand, trying to grip hard enough at the hilt of your sword so you could finally, finally, thrust it into the dizzying mark in it's chest.
And then, as it lifted, ready to pounce back into your form, you got the chance to see it's weakness, barely, but enough. With not an ounce of hesitation, you gave up trying to make your, now useless, dominant hand to obey you, and switched you weapon, lurching under the monster and stabbing the glowing red skin, a surge of black blood dripping into your face and clothes as the monster disappeared into itself.
“Name!” Time finally got it into himself to call you out, armored form rushing to your side at an abnormal speed.
You looked back at him, still a very gruesome, bloody messy as you gave him a victorious grin, but he couldn't find it in himself to worry about that in the moment, just wanting to check if you were too injured from the battle, but just as he was two steps in, your face morphed into something akin to panic, stumbling hurriedly into your own feet and frantically running to him.
“Wait! Beside you!” Your shout was enough to alert him, shield quickly lifted as he bashed the monster into the ground, yet, his vision blurred at the sudden movement, body still weak from the hit he'd taken previously.
He felt your hand on his back, trying to keep him steady as the other swung the blade in front of you, the metal making an annoying screech as it made contact with the black mask, which only seemed to anger the monster further, pushing forward at an ungodly speed with it's tentacles trashing around.
In the heat of the moment, you mustered all the strength you could, pushing the hero to the side — a feat that was only possible because of his weakened state — as you took the full impact, body falling to the ground with a crushing thud, you winced, but still pushed forward, the blood pumping through your body giving you the last bit of adrenaline you needed to finally ground the monster, watching it slowly disappear as the aches in your body only now started to settle.
You could hear Time thunderous voice from beside you, but it sounded so distant, yet so loud, you could only close your eyes in hopes the tinning in your ears would stop.
You felt a cool hand — a metal plate? — settling against your burning cheeks, Time eye scanning you fully, rambling quickly about something as he seemed to shout to someone on the other side of the battlefield, you tried to laugh at his worry, only being able to hack a cough, throat clogged with blood.
You could see him turning his head back to you, mouthing a “don't leave me yet” at you, you grinned.
“Not before you, old man.” You saw him frown and was quick to add. “Don' worry, 'ts not the time yet.” You couldn't wait for his answer, face drooping into his shoulder as your vision blackened.
You could only hope he would lessen his nagging from next time you woke up, pitying your battered state.

It seemed that ever since he got into this adventure, with eight other unsettling versions of himself, plus an unassuming you, his luck whenever he transformed with the twili magic pummelled — yes, even more than in his own aventure, wasn't he sufficiently unlucky during his trials.
It was an unfamiliar Hyrule, and both you and him, well, Wolfie, had assumed the responsability of checking the sorrounding areas for any threat.
And what a threat it had, a swarm of dynalfos madly chasing after the both of you, a few too rough swing of their weapons barely catching at your tearing tunic as you tried tirelessly to keep up with the wolf speed.
“Fuck! I thought these bastards didn't wander in groups, what the heck are they even doing out in the open!?” As much as Twilight would like to agree with you at the moment, he could only let out a huff in the bestial form.
You gritted your teeth, pushing your legs until they were burning with the strain, never losing speed in fear they might actually catch up with you, as you rummaged through your backpack, probably looking for anything that might work, since your sword proved to be pretty damn useless against their gauntlets.
“Hey Wolfie, do you trust me?” He barely spared you a glance, quickly noticing the bomb you recklessly lightened in your arms. “Because if you don't, you might as well go on your own way.”
He tried to yelp as you didn't let go of the bomb even as the fire engulfed almost all of the rope, your hands shaking in what he assumed to be fear, though at this point it might as well be excitement, with the maddening smirk that played in your lips.
Waves of roars and shrieks resounded behind the both of you just as you threw the bomb back, the object exploding not even a few seconds after, as you made sure to hold it until the last possible second, so they wouldn't be able to throw the object back at you and make the situation even worse. Flames licked just short of your backs, threatening to burn both the strap of your leather bag and the tip of Wolfie's tail.
You cussed under your breath, legs stopping, as you turned around to face the enemies, now finally weakened enough for the both of you to at least try to face head on.
“If I'm right, they're from the captain's Hyrule, so we don't have much time to take them down.” You saw the wolf tail flick, as if in understanding, and you took that as a signal to rush foward, hearing his steps right behind you.
You surged foward, striking the monsters with the barely retained memories of the hellish training the captain had drilled into you, almost finishing off your enemies when you heard your companion yelp, a dinolfo having grabbed at his tail just as he tackled another of the oversized lizards into the ground, just as he was about to turn, ready to maul whatever got him, a wooden shield flew past his nose, right into the monster head, sending it into it's back, completely unmoving.
When the both of you were finally finished, it was nothing more than a gory mess, guts splattered all over as the both of you laid in the midst of the atrocious visage, panting and bleeding, the man long since turned into his original form, throwing all his care into the wind as he made himself comfortable beside you.
“We have to report it back to them, especially since these fuckers must be from the captain world.” You muttered, breathing heavy as you tried to lift your arm, only a groan making it past your mouth.
The man laid beside you only mumbled in agreement, not actually moving to get up, and actually throwing an arm over your body, making sure you wouldn't get out of there until the two of you at least got some rest.
Yeah, he could let the nagging wait a bit more, for now the thought of a little rest just seemed so much better than going back only to hear how reckless the both of you were to actually act alone.
He then frowned as if remembering something, face turning to you.
“How many times did we tell ya not to thrown the shield.” His voice was exasperated and you all but glared at him.
“Ah c'mon! It works!”

Warriorsʼ
“Get down!” A cry in your voice was enough for the warrior to follow through your orders, barely dodging a monster attack on the right as you nimbly shifted to his side, blocking an aerial attack with the shield Wild had lent to you weeks ago.
He hadn't thought much of the occurrence, as one of the archers in the group quickly sent the monster down, and you dealing a final blow without much trouble, what he didn't expect, however, was to find you barely a few hours after the battle kneeled beside a water body trying to wash down an conspicuous amount of blood off the arm you had previously wielded the shield with.
“Name? Did you get hurt? You could've asked me for a potion if your stock ran off, Hyrule would've also helped, we didn't have many casualties today.” He was quick to close off the distance, even as you seemed to do your best to avoid any type of contact with the hero.
“The stock is running low...” You started, low voice, but as he didn't budge, waiting for a more plausible excuse you saw no choice but to continue. “and there's still shards in my arm, it wouldn't be helpful to heal it as it is.”
Azure eyes ran over what he previously thought to be only stains and clogs of blood over the grass, only now noticing how it shimmered under the light, pieces of what seemed to be freshly cut flesh clinging into the sharper edges.
Warriors rushed to your side, hands grabbing firmly at your shoulder and wrist, fresh blood quickly oozing into his own pristine robes, but he didn't mind, not as he noticed just how serious what he thought to only be a light wound actually was. He suppressed a frustrated groan as he heard in inhale sharply at his prodding in the less open part of the wounds.
“How did this happen?” His voice was sharp, clearly not giving you a chance to even try and escape from him.
“Nothing...” A sharp glare was enough to make you stop, clearing your throat before continuing. “The kargarocs clawed at my arm just as Wild's shield shattered. It was just that, besides, it's not as bad as it look.”
The way you winced when his fingers flexed a little too harshly around your wrists was enough to betray your own words, yet you didn't back down, not until you saw Link's face morphing from a frown into the most —fake— dashing smile you've seen him send your way.
“If it's not that bad, then i guess you wouldn't mind a little help.” The way his eyes didn't match his smile was enough of a warning of the hell he'd put you through for not taking care of yourself in the first place.
“Wait, no—”
Your loud scream resonated through the quiet forest, as the man all but huffed, taking out the shards littering your arms with a gentle, yet rigid touch.
Too bad, it was already too late, maybe this way you'll learn to stay out of trouble next time.

Hyruleʼ
He couldn't say he was thrilled to get back to his own Hyrule, while, yes, it was comforting to recognize the vegetation around, much like the many hiding spots he found during his tireless adventures, he still felt much too paranoid to parade around the existing bustling town, a gnawing feeling at the back of his head saying — screaming — that as long as he was there, the hunt for his head would prevail.
So with such thoughts, he didn't think much of letting you talk with some of the locals, much too unrelated to the hero to pose any apparent threat to the villagers, as he hid himself just short of your eyesight, as the both of you waited for the rest of the group to buy whichever necessities you were still lacking from the journey.
What he didn't expect was to suddenly hear an almost guttural growl from you, as you tensed up from the previously amicable chat, his body turning just in time to see you land a punch straight into the other person nose, blood cascading instantly down your fist.
From there it went downhill, the other two person joining in the brawl you seemed to start without a care as Hyrule rushed to your side, trying to both protect you, while also pulling you out of the fight.
“Stop that, Hyrule! I'll kill those bastards!” You voice resounded with so much unfiltered hatred, that he considered that your threats may actually turn out be true, wasn't he quick enough to act.
He had always thought of you as calm and collected, a little silly sometimes, but that was about it, yet as he saw you snarling at the opposing group, having to almost wrestle you out of the place, he could see just how soft you actually were to the group of heroes.
The traveller regretted having put out his power bracelet in fear of hurting anyone too much, as throwing your fighting form over his shoulder and setting back proved to be much harder than when he did same with the usual pacific you, his steps thumped loudly against the dry grass, the sound of angered shouts getting more and more distant with the passing seconds, along with your own, which died into tiny sobs and hiccups.
When he noticed your chasers weren't on your tails anymore, he finally stopped, breathing hagged as he carefully lowered you to the floor, hands instantly coming to cup your face carefully, thumbing at the tears, worried expression as he checked your body for any wounds, his magic making quick work on any he spotted.
“Now now, what's the problem? What happened.” He watched as the tears didn't stop, yet you frowned in annoyance.
Not at him, of course. Never at him.
You pursed your lips, teeth gritting as you finally started talking, a sigh falling regretfully from your lips.
“Those bastar—” A quiet hush from him forced you to stop, his eyes never letting yours leave his. “They” You growled “were acting like you were nothing more than a curse. It's not fair that you get this type of treatment after all you did to save those people.”
His smile grew a little, strong arms engulfing you in a warm hug, your own slithering across his back naturally as he leaned into your shoulder.
“I don't care about those things.” Not for as long as I have you. “But thank you, Name.” His soft hum was quiet against your ear, and that was all the comfort the both of you could ever need, tightly wound in each other embrace.

Legendʼ
Legend was against the whole plan.
Especially when it took place with you acting as the bait, taking the unlucky lot while they drawed each person role.
He gritted his teeth, looking regretfully at the Pegasus Boot and the defense ring he placed in your hands, while you laughed awkwardly.
“You don't have to give me that, you know. I know how to battle, maybe not as much as you guys, but I can handle on my own.” You tried, pushing the items back into his hands, but he stepped back before you would force him to take, his frown only getting deeper.
“I know.” Was his only answer, to which you quirked your brow quizzically and he huffed. “We all watched your progress in battle, still, it just feels wrong to leave someone behind.”
Warriors was about to make a teasing comment about his unusual character, when Twilight jabbed at him, forcing the knight to bend over.
Time sighed as he watched the veteran so restless, drawing the attention back to him.
“Then the veteran stays back with Name.” The oldest sent a teasing smirk your way, which the others seemed to not notice, as he turned back to the rest of the group. “The rest of us will go as planned, Wild come with me, Warriors with Wind and Hyrule with Twilight. Get ready by the doors and make sure to come back before the time runs out.”
You prepared to start the mechanism of the dungeon, pulling the lever when the acting leader nodded. You and the veteran watched as they all disappeared into the passages, stone doors closing behind them as soon as they left, leaving the place you stood only barely lightened by the scarce torches lit around the walls.
The first wall to light up was the one in the right, where the traveller and ranch hand had disappeared into, both you and Legend walking up to it to take a closer look at the glowing blue scriptures.
“Only when the sun is lit, can the lost ones be found.”
It was easy enough, you looked around the room, soon finding a tile carved with the sun marking, Legend didn't think much before using the fire rod on it, the first pillar lightening up in blue, the form of a child carved into it.
The second wall lightened up, this time from Wars and Wind side.
“Only a cup of water can sate one's thrist.”
Sound of dripping water started to resonate around the room, the statue glow dimming as the child now bent over it's form, tears welling down the pillar. You took the bowl beneath it, already half full as you looked back at your partner, who pointed at the drying flower who bloomed among the stone path. You watered it, the flower blooming back to life, a golden key appearing between it's petals. The veteran didn't think much before picking it up, the second pillar lighting up with a garden.
As the third and last wall lightened up, the torches were blow off, all lights around the room turning from a soft blue to bloody red.
"A true warrior may carve it's path upon the enemies blood.”
Gears started to sound around the room, the torches blow off and the only light around now being the poor scriptures that barely let you count the fingers in your hands.
The child statue now stood as a imposing adult holding a sword, the tears that fell turning into a river of blood, and the garden pillar now turning into a fire caught wasteland.
A opening appeared on the ceiling, in which Keeses started pouring over like ants, Legend took the fire rod, knowing that with a single hit he could take at least a few of them down, however just as he was about to shot the magic, it died down altogether.
“What!?” He shouted exasperated, trying again in a futile attempt.
You looked at him, drawing your bow, hoping to even get a few down from how bad your eyesight got in the dark place.
He followed your example, grumpy about his malfunctioning item as he gripped onto his sword, taking down any that got too close to the floor.
As you were finally setting a rhythm, you started hearing a buzzing, looking into the hero direction the see the electro keese closing in on him.
“Vet!” You hand hooked at the hero tunic, all but throwing him to the other side, the monster reaching you as it's electric aura engulfed your body in an excruciating pain.
...
Or not. You blinked, looking up from your kneeling form, the hero running up to your side, as a disheveled mess, trying to look for injuries on your body, the red lights returning to a blue hue, and torches lighting back as the doors clinked open.
“But only true heroes won't think before saving a dear one.” The sailor voice sounded behind you, apparently reading the newly lightened wall who led you to the next room. “Whatever happened to the both of you here?” He asked, confused face as he stared at the both of you.
As you and Legend looked at each other face, clear confusion written all over it, the both of you nodded at each other.
“Nothing.”

Wildʼ
Wild could somehow feel the consequences of his actions catching up with him.
His hands tightened around your wrist, tugging you along with him as you ran from the lynel positively huffing like a bull as it ran behind you. He felt like this would be the feeling Twilight felt whenever he saw him running to do some things stupid.
Why did he just have to give in to your pleading eyes when you asked him to show you how to hunt a lynel?
He could see you stealing glances at the monster from the corner of his eyes, your figure pretty much laid back even when you knew — or at least he thought so — that thing could send you flying with a single hit.
When it's axe was lifted, you shifted to the side, pulling Wild out of its reach and almost sending the both of you colliding to the floor.
“I think I understand it now!” You shouted at him, blood pumping so hard from the adrenaline you almost couldn't hear yourself.
And with that, Wild felt a bad sense of premonition, his gut sinking as he recognizer that look on your face. The same look he had when he first tried to beat a lynel, before he was beaten half to death and ran back to formulate another plan, and while it was... well, different from the first, it certainly wasn't optimal.
He looked at you, face bewildered as he whisper shouted a “no”, hand tightening around yours as if he was the leash keeping a child from doing something idiotic, yet you only huffed and rolled your eyes.
“You do it, why can't I?” You whined and he considered begging for Twilight's forgiveness for every shit he put his mentor through. “Besides, you're here to help me, we can just retreat if you think it's getting too dangerous.”
He sighed, before pointing to the bottom of the hill, a large lake surrounding the area.
“If it get dangerous I'll use cryonis and we'll get out of here, no if's and but's, okay?” You grumbled out and his eyes thinned. “Okay?” He repeated himself.
“Okaaaay.” You drawled out, charging to the point he pointed, letting go of his hand as he attracted the lynel to he area.
It started fairly well, he attracted the monster to him while you shot it from the side, his bow trainings paying off as you hadn't hit the blonde man a single time yet. And hopefully you wouldn't for the rest of the battle.
Just as you were about to pull the last arrow, you saw the shining, massive axe in the hands of the lynel start flying towards your direction, the young hero quickly telling you to run towards the lake.
Your mind raced as you thought of your options, eyes flashing from Link's place near the lake to the weapon flying your way sickeningly fast, the bow dropping from your hand as you took the claymore strapped to your hip.
Wild's face dropped, heart sinking as he could already read your thoughts. Damned be the day he tried to teach you how to parry.
You waited. Waited. Wait... And then with a sharp, deafening sound the ginormous weapon was sent flying, it lasted less than a second, yet for you it seemed as if the world had stopped, you felt like you could understand, even if a little, when Wild talked about how the world seemed to slow down around him when he was battling.
Before you could turn to the hero to celebrate, you felt a heavy punch landing into the side of your head, sending you flying back, vision wavering.
He would have to teach you not to take your eyes off the enemies in battle it seemed, he sighed running up to finish dealing with the monster before you were too beaten up.

Windʼ
It was just your luck.
The dungeon had separated the whole group, and while you weren't too worried about only you and Wind forming a duo, you were quite worried for whose world it was now.
All of the heroes eras were quite the catastrophe, however Time's was an utter mess, especially with the happenings of Majora Mask he had to deal while still a child.
You gritted your teeth, pulling the younger one beside you by the arm, as he whined something about being able to take them on.
“Look Wind, I know you're competent and all, I also understand that you know how to deal with them, however you have to understand that these are not the ReDeads from back at your world.” You pursed your lips as you heard their screeching approaching.
The young hero huffed, finally accompanying your steps on his own, instead of being dragged like dead weight.
“So, any plan?” His pout was very much visible, in your mind at least, as the corridors were dark enough for you to trip over your own feet sometimes.
“You betcha, sailor.” You only hoped it would actually work. “Think you could play a song right now?”
You could feel Wind's judgemental stare right through your skull, but when you did nothing but press him for an answer he giggled madly.
“I don't know what you're brewing up, but I hope it'll be fun.” The boy grabbed onto your hand, sprinting even faster, pulling you through some many doors and corridors of what you thought to be the correct path, until you could see a few barely visible flashs of light streaming down from the ceiling, the first room you had fallen into when you first entered the dungeon, the bars showing only enough for the both of you to see the shadow of your faces, giggling as if the monsters that followed you wouldn't just up and kill the both of you with as much as a single touch.
You quickly scampered further into the light, knowing it would only be enough to slow them down for a little, before you started talking lowly, not considering the earlier fits of laugh would be enough to alert all of the monsters around of your exact position.
“I assume you don't have your mirror with you.” The sailor nodded, almost rolling his eyes at the predictability, but before he could voice his complaints you continued. “But you wouldn't come without your wand, right?”
He now raised an eyebrow, mouthing an “Of course”, as you nodded to yourself.
“Let's pray that it counts as an magical instrument, get it and try to follow the music I'll hum to you.” You barely got him any chance to process before humming the Sun Song you'd grew so familiar over the time.
The boy just looked at you as if you were crazy, grabbing onto the item and hurriedly trying to follow along, a few tries in and the both of you huffed, patience running thin as a strew of curses fell from the boys lips, something you thanked the goddess above that the Hero of Time or the Hero of Twilight weren't there to see.
You groaned, exasperated, as the monsters were now only a few feet away from you both, you pressed him further up into the wall, fully covering his body from the monsters view, almost like a living bait, a thing he'd certainly nag at you later.
In the desperation you whistled the song, praying it was sufficiently in tune for him to relate to the sound of the wind he often listened to while on his journey.
“C'mon, three, three, five!” You prayed, a phantom touch at your neck sending chills down your spine as if sucking your life force, while you tried to whistle the tune again.
“Got it!” He exclaimed, a whirlwind forming around you both as the light shone even brighter above the both of you, almost like the salvation light, the wave of monster falling slowly with shrill screams, one you'd hope to never hear again.
You finally let go of his arms, body trembling so much you could only topple down as tears streamed down your cheeks, the bone chilling presence of their touch still very much vivid in you mind, as the younger one could only rub your shoulders soothingly, knowing full well you took most of the hits in order to keep him safe.
He sighed, resolved to let your actions slide this one time, with a tired smile.
“Thank you for trying to protect me, let's rest a little and then well go back to the others.” His voice was way less chirpier than usual, you nodded, leaning one against the other, finally able to get a breather under the warm light casted over the two of you.

Skyʼ
It was somewhat stupid, honestly.
You knew fully well that all of those men had full capacity to take over at least a dozen monsters more than you, without even breaking a sweat, no less, especially the local lazy eyed hero who seemed to enjoy his little naps a little more than it was healthy and just happened to take over a god all by himself.
You knew it, yes, but your stupid body decided to move before your brain could fully process what was even happening.
“Sky, that...” You lightly tugged at the hem of the skyloftian armor, eyes focused on the strange spikes fluctuating dangerously beside the hero.
The form seemed familiar, but you only were able to fully recognize it when little eyes peeked through the sand wasteland, the man beside you now standing in full alert as his eyes seemed to catch onto the same thing as you.
The whole group stopped, now looking back at the two of you, but as you tried to point towards the enemy to explain you wouldn't have to battle as long as you avoided it's vision, you could see from the corner of your eyes one of the more reckless from the group charge full on at the little monster.
“Wait, it'll explode!” Sky tried to warn, a little too late as it's body expanded, sending projectiles of poisonous darts around.
Thankfully Wild was quick enough to react a pull a shield to protect himself, and the others were far enough not to get in the way, however as both you and the Hero of the Skies were the one who stood closer to it, you had taken the full brunt of the blow, fully ducking the hero behind your form.
You gasped as you felt the thorns ripping through your flesh, the feeling way more painful than you had expected at first, tears prickling at the corner of your eyes as you all but hollered at Wild.
“Don't go touching it, you dumbass! Just blow it away!” You winced when the hero held in your arms moved to trace the sides of your wounds, a wince of his own sounding as he saw his bloodied gloves.
“Don't move, it'll hurt.” Sky voice was still collected, but you could see his eyes wavering a bit, knowing full well how terrible it was to receive one of these attacks head on, he sighed. “Why did you protect me? My armor was enough to take it.”
It was unusual to hear the usually so pacific hero grumbling around like that, but you could barely focus on that as you felt his hands making quick work of removing the most superficial ones from your skin, the scalding hot feeling of the poison in the open wounds soon melting off as Hyrule made a quick work of staying beside you to heal the wounds.
“I panicked, besides, if it was a black blooded monster, who knew what else he'd— shit! Do?” You felt your knees weakening, even as he held you upright, so you gave in to muffling a cry into his shoulder as he took off a particularly hard spike buried in the side of your waist.
“So you did this even considering it was a mutated monster?” You could feel he bit off another sigh. “Really, you're the only one reckless enough to throw yourself in to protect a hero.” He patted your head in a comforting touch to tell it was over. “But don't go thinking I'm not mad at you and Wild. The both of you should stop acting so recklessly already, it'll worry all of us.”
You could hear Wild whining off at some distance, as you held the urge to do the same, as you knew the boy could be as scary as Time if pushed far enough.

Fourʼ
The short hero was quite used to be underestimated, and at first he thought you'd fall under the same category of people who judged his strength based on his height alone.
It was a pleasant surprise for him when he could finally notice your protectiveness came from a place of care, actually.
What wasn't pleasant, however, was how, no matter how much you knew that the hero was much stronger than you, you couldn't let go of this worrisome habit of always putting his safety and comfort before yours.
Especially now, where you, and the four parts of the little hero battled away against a wave of skulltulas, the monsters easy enough for you and the four heroes to tackle on, however their sheer amount was enough to give you a harder time dealing with them.
You sidestepped, back meeting with Green's, hearing him chuckle before branding his sword to the right, striking down two of the monsters with a single attack, you and Red joining hands so the smaller one could easily acess the weak spot of a specially tough one.
However, things seemed way messier at the other side, Blue and Violet having to deal with just as much as the three of you, while also sparing jabs at each other, harsh comments over the other clumsiness as they rashly brandished their sword, clearly tired of the long running battle.
“It doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon.” You muttered, both of the man beside you nodding in agreement. “Should we just take off?” You offered, an instant disagreement falling from both Blue and Violet.
“If its a swarm this big, it could reach one of the nearby cities.” Red made an actual helpful comment, to which you sighed.
You held your tongue, knowing none of them would appreciate you making any comments about their far too heroic side, putting your focus back on the battle.
It didn't take much longer for the wave of Skulltulas to actually start to thin out and finally take the last one on. Tge five of you finally lowered you weapons, watching as the last of the enemies disappear in a black mist.
The only sound now being your heavy breathings and the rustling of the trees above you. You looked up, heaving a sight and watching as the leaves above your head danced from one side to another along with the wind, only now noticing a strange light, or actually, a lack thereof.
“Hey guys..?” You started, as they looked at you. “I guess i know why they were so mad at us now.” They followed your line of sight, a gasp sounding behind you, which you didn't bother naming whose it was.
A skulltula — if you could even call it that, at this point — hung over the trees, it's web big enough to cover a whole house, the monster only shying a little in question of size.
“Are you guys sure you still want to play hero?” Surprisingly, it wasn't you this time, but Violet.
You shook you head, already knowing their answers, as you hooked your fingers under your bow, pulling one arrow and readying to fire under their command.
“Well.... like it or not, we are heroes.” Blue stated, giving you the signal.
You shoot the arrow, the object hitting bullseye into one of the monster's eye, not that it was too difficult from it's sheer size.
With a thundering roar, it dropped down from it's web, the natural floor shaking under your feet as you stepped back to gain the distance advantage this time, the split hero standing in front of you to act like a bait.
The four of them each had gone to one side of the monster, as you made another clear shot, this time taking one of its hind leg, the blood spraying in a somewhat gruesome way you hadn't had the chance to notice when fighting the smaller one.
Just as you were about to shot another of its legs, you heard a groan, Blue falling to the ground as the monster charged into him. You gritted your teeth, lowering the bow as you pulled your sword from your waist and running up to him without a second thought, stopping in front of him, and parrying the oncoming attacks however you could as Blue still seemed disoriented from the fall.
What you didn't take into account was how heavy it's attack would be now that it had the added weight of it's sheer size, you lightly hissed when it's fang bit into your left shoulder, almost dropping the weapon out of reflex, but you clenched your jaw, forcing your fingers to remain flexed into the sword hilt, then thrusting it into the spider's many eyes when it finally let go of you, it's bug juice overflowing into you and your wound, only making it sting more.
Barely a few seconds after you could see the monster disappearing, as Violet and Green each cut one side of the monster, the skulltula disappearing into a black matter quickly as you heaved a sigh, the five of you finally regrouping into the center of the clearing.
“Did I already say that I hate spiders? Because if not, now I do.” Violet said, clearly disheartened at the whole ordeal, to which you only nodded in agreement.

Just saw an ad for fucking Kellog's cornflakes wherein a shirtless blindfolded man tied to a bed is like "Wait.. are you... eating??" and it pans across the bed to reveal that his partner is, indeed, too distracted to have sex with him bc she is chowing down on corn flakes. Now I've been caught up in wondering whether:
a) John Harvey Kellog would despise this ad; the mere proximity of bondage-play to his brand name and beloved anti-porn flakes is unforgivable

Late Night Reading
(Hyrule x Reader)
Hyrule descended down one of the castle's many spiraling staircases towards the basement. The stone walls and steps, though repaired since his last visit, still cracked and crumbled under his meticulously placed steps. Ready to give way at any misplaced weight or unsteady footing. It was a dance Hyrule had long since memorized in his many trips down to the castle's lower floor. Easily skipping over or shuffling past rubble and debris that littered the narrow stairwell till the stone floor leveled out into an equally narrow hallway.
He took a bite of the fruit in his hand. Nibbling on its sweetness that tingled on his tongue as juice dribbled from the corner of his mouth towards his chin. He wiped it away with the brown sleeve of his shirt. His usual green tunic, bracers and other items were left upstairs in the room he was currently supposed to be sharing with Wild and Four, leaving him in just his simple brown shirt and trousers. His sword was still strapped across his back. The inside of the castle may be safe but this was still his era and he wasn't about to take any chances going somewhere unarmed.
He took another bite as he headed down the hallway. The small candle’s flame flickering against the cold draft wafting by. Old suits of armor, rusted and covered in dust, lined his path to the large door at the end of the corridor.
Hyrule paused. The door was cracked open; A soft light coming from just within.
Not only was it late, the sun having set hours ago, but besides the occasional visit from Aurora or Dawn he was the only one to ever even come down here. Hell he didn't even think anyone else knew about this room.
He approached quietly, blowing out the candle and tucking it away in case it gave him away. His ear hovered over the door, listening for any sounds of movement coming from within. His hand hovered over the hilt of his sword, listening to soft footsteps, mixed between the sounds of papers being shuffled around and books being closed and reshelved. There was no other indication of who or what could possibly be inside. So he braces a hand against the wooden door, giving it a gentle push to open it a bit further. Releasing a puff of air when it didn’t creak, he stuck out his neck, peeking inside the room.
His eyes scanned the length of the large study. The light came from the large stone fireplace to the right. The small flickers of flames leaving the room in a dim, golden hue that caught the reddish flecks of the wooden bookshelves that lined the perimeter of the room. Each one packed with books, maps, trinkets and everything else one might need in the quest of research. To the left was a dark wooden desk that matched the surrounding bookshelves. Its drawers and hidden cupboard housed the many personal journals and items of the room's previous owner that Hyrule had been slowly trying to sort through since first coming across them.
Your figure sat perched atop that desk. Only in a pale blue nightgown that Aurora had leant you for the night. The princess was taller, the difference in height making the material of the dress fall well past your feet that dangled above the room's dark purple carpet. Your elbow rested on your knee, crossed over the other with a book firmly in your hand. There was a small stack of books on either side of you as you flipped through page after page.
Hyrule exhales, feeling a bit silly for how suspicious he had been. He smiles, pushing the door open all the way.
“How am I not surprised you found your way down here?” He teased, leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed over his chest.
Your head shot up, the surprised expression of being caught red handed making Hyrule only chuckle.
“Hyrule! What are you doing down here? Shouldn't you be in bed?”
“Shouldn't I be asking you the same thing?” He countered, strolling further into the room till he stood beside you. He unstrapped his sword, propping it up as his hip leaned against the edge of the desk. Bracing a hand on its smooth surface.
“Besides, does a guy really need a reason to be in his own study?”
Your eyes widened, slamming the book in your hands closed and shoving it away from you.
“Your..? Oh my gosh I'm so sorry! I didn't- I was just exploring and I wound up here! I didn't mean to intrude!”
Hyrule chuckled at your frantic response. Calling out your name to try and get you to calm down.
“It's fine, you're more than welcome to be here. I was just surprised is all. Not very many people know about this room so I didn't expect anyone to be here.”
“Are you sure?” You asked cautiously, scooting off the desk till your feet touched the ground. “Cause I can leave! I don't wanna-”
Hyrule put a hand on your shoulder, stopping you from making for the door. “It's fine, really!” He assured you, picking up the book you had just been reading to hand it back over. “Besides, I know I said this place is mine but it still doesn't really feel that way so I’d love the company.”
You smiled softly, visibly relaxing as you held the book tightly to your chest. You met his honey brown eyes, a blush creeping onto your cheeks as you quickly diverted your attention.
“So what exactly is this place?”
“A study” His voice as flat and dry and Gerudo desert.
You rolled your eyes at the shit eating grin on his face, playfully hitting his shoulder as he laughed. Letting yourself hop back up to sit on the desk, you crossed your arms over your chest with an unimpressed look on your face.
“Alright alright, I give. Aurora showed me this room a few months after she woke up. Told me it was her grandfather's back when she was little so most of the stuff in here is his. He apparently traveled a lot, so this is where he kept everything.” Hyrule moved to the other side of the desk, pulling open a drawer stuffed with loose pieces of paper. Hyrule grabbed a handful, handing them to you to look at. Each one looked like it had some sort of sketch on it, like a roughly drawn map or depiction of specific places or people.
“Wow you weren’t kidding. Seems like this guy got around.” You marveled at the sheer number of places depicted on each page. You didn’t even think some of these were in Hyrule.
“You like those?”
You nodded, scanning through all of them again before handing them back for Hyrule to put away.
“Ya know, since you're here, think you could help me with something?”
You twisted around, nodding as you watched Hyrule dig through the desk. He knelt down, making you crane your neck to try and see what he was doing. Popping back up, he held a stack of leather bound books and a few rolled up pieces of parchment.
“Could you take a look at these?”
You outstretched your hands, letting Hyrule place some of the books in your arms and the others beside you. Most of their titles were vaguely familiar while others seemed to be in a completely different language. Hyrule came back to your side, leaning against the desk with his arm pressed against yours as he hovered over you.
“What exactly am I looking for?”
“Are you able to read it?”
You looked closer, focusing on reading what was in front of you instead of just glazing over it. The writing wasn’t exactly your Hylian, but it had a fair amount of similarities. Enough so that you were able to make out most of the letters and words to get its general concepts.
“It's a bit dicey but yeah I can read it. Why?”
Hyrule rubbed at the back of his neck bashfully. Avoiding your gaze as his ears took on a soft pink. “I uhh..I-I'm not the best reader to begin with, and a lot of the books in here are too old for me to even really begin to understand. I was uhh, I was hoping…”
“Hyrule?”
His head was still faced down but he glanced back at you from the corner of his eyes.
“Would you like me to read these to you?” There wasn’t any teasing to the way you asked which Hyrule appreciated. He had always been a bit self conscious about how poorly his reading skills were. Especially since meeting the other heroes. The pink on his ears now spread across his whole face as he barely nods his head with a hopeful look in his eye. You smiled, patting the spot on the desk softly as you opened the book. Hyrule lifted himself off the ground, sat pressed against your side as you began reading aloud.

Most of the books weren't very long, allowing you ample time to read through the whole thing. Hyrule would scurry off after each one to grab another, or make sure the fire gave you enough light to keep going. He listened intently as you read. Pressed against your side and waited patiently when there was a particular difficult section, sometimes skipping over the more intricate words or phrases.
He was especially interested when you realized one of them had been a spell book. You simply put that one aside, promising to try and help him through it at some other point in time.
Finishing the most recent book, you hand it back to Hyrule to put away. Watching him shuffle away to one of the bookshelves across the room. His mouth pressed into a tight line as he tried to decide on his next choice.
You took the short moment to appreciate the way his fingers brushed softly over the different books like each one was something precious to him. Forearm flexing as he reaches up to pull a specific one. How his mouth would gently blow away the dust before giving it over to you.
A draft brushed through the room, making you shudder at the cold air.
“Are you cold?” Hyrule asked. Eyebrows furrowed in concern as he made his way back to where you were still sat on top of the desk. His newest selection clutched in hand.
You nodded, rubbing your arms slightly to ward off another shiver. Hyrule looked around the room, eyes landing on the small fire. He immediately offered you his hand, placing yours on top curiously as he wrapped his fingers around yours. His hand, rough and calloused, held yours with a unique tenderness as you slipped off of the desk. Letting him lead you over to the fireplace, gesturing for you to sit on the floor in front of the fire. You comply, sinking down onto the soft carpet as Hyrule handed you the small book he had picked before dashing off somewhere to your right.
He returned with a large blanket, draping it over your lap before settling himself right behind you. With his legs on either side of you, he nestled close enough so his chest pressed against your back. His fingers poked at your shoulders, coaxing you to lean against him. You did, using him as a makeshift backrest as you let yourself get comfortable. Adjusting the blanket so it could at least cover some of his legs as well.
“Shall I continue?”
He nodded enthusiastically, making you giggle as you let the book fall open on your lap. The illustration of a small boy took you off guard, but Hyrule's excited gasp made you jump.
“Wait, I know this!” He snatched up the book, pointing to the drawing. “I heard these stories as a kid! Hylia, I never realized they came from an actual book. I just thought it was a word of mouth sort of thing.”
You giggled at the way he excitedly looked at all the different pictures of the small boy. One running through the woods while another showed him fighting a large monster.
“Read it? Please?” He asked, putting it back on your lap expectantly. You only giggled more.
“Sure Rulie,” You cleared your throat, leaning further against him as you began. “In the kingdom of Hyrule, there was a young boy…”
Hyrule's chin came to rest upon your shoulder as you read, pretending to follow along as he listened. He desperately tried to focus on the story and not the way he was pressed against you. The two of you had been close before, hugged a few times now and again but nothing like this. Not cuddled up in front of a fire, alone, your body pressed to his with no one around to witness it.
His hand twitched where it rested on his own knee, sneakily sliding down till his finger was right next to the curve of your hip. The fabric of the nightgown was soft though Hyrule’s mind was focused on how thin the material was. No wonder you had gotten cold. He pinched a small bit of the fabric between two of his fingers, wondering if the skin below was just as soft.
He let go, letting his knuckles press into the dip of your hip. Testing to see your reaction to his touch.
Nothing. Hmm…
He held his breath, letting his hand fully come to rest on the soft spot of your body. Palm laid flat against your, trying not to dig his fingers into the plump area. You didn't miss a beat in your recounting of the story, only letting more of your weight lean against him. He tried to suppress the giddy feeling in his heart as he struggled to breathe normally.
His fingers moved on their own after a few minutes, tracing small circles into your hip. Slowly gaining enough courage to come up to your waist. FIngers continued their movement as his head lolled sideways, feeling your cheek rest against the top of his head. He paused once he realized you had stopped reading. Staring down at the page you were on with a confused look on your face. He immediately retracted his hand, even scooting a bit away from you.
“(Y/n)?”
“Sorry it's just…Hyrule be honest with me?” You turned to face him straight on. His heart pounded against his chest as he frantically tried to think of what he had done to upset you.
You held up the book.
“Are these stories about Legend!?”
Hyrule burst out laughing,
You hit his shoulder, making Hyrule fall onto his back as he continued his uncontrollable laughter.
“You knew didn't you!” you yelled, but there was a light laughter to your words. “Oh you little-”
You couldn't hold back your own laughter, your insult only morphing into more laughs and giggles as you both tried to catch your breath. Hyrule propped himself up on his elbows, his stomach hurting in the best way. You hovered over him, still trying to smother your own fit as you poked his chest.
“I can't believe you have a storybook about Legend!”
“Do you think he'd lose it if we showed him?” He asked, finally able to speak coherently.
“Oh my gosh can we!?”
Hyrule sat back up, his face coming unexpectedly close to yours. “Sure,” he chuckled. “We can show him in the morning.”
Your smile at the prospect alone was worth the risk of his grumpy predecessor tearing this book to bits when he saw it. Your eyes sparkling in the light that Hyrule couldn't look away from as you tried to imagine the look on the Vet's face when he realized he had quite literally been reduced to a children's storybook.
Hyrule’s hand lifted to your face, knuckle bushing your chin. His thumb just barely grazing your bottom lip that had you suck in your next breath.
Goddess he wanted to kiss you.
He searched your eyes, his hand still holding your chin. Your hand reached out to rest right on his collar bone, fingertips tickling his neck as you glanced down at his lips. It was all Hyrule needed before he leaned in, lightly touching his lips to yours before nervously pulling away.
“S-sorry! I just..well you just looked so..and I-”
“Link” You called out. The use of his real name instantly caught his attention as he shut his mouth and looked at you expectantly.
You cupped his face softly, leaning forward to kiss him again.
He didn't know what god or goddess he needed to thank but he would be thanking all of them just in case.
Your lips were incredibly soft as they moved against his. You tasted better than any honey or sweet Hyrule had ever had. The edges of his mind blurring into a heightened buzz that had you easily becoming his new favorite sugar high. His hand supported the back of your head, strands of your hair tangling between his fingers. His other wrapped its way around your waist, pulling you closer till he could feel your chest against his. Your hands dropped from his face down to his shoulders, wrapping around his neck to tangle your fingers into his loose curls.
You eventually pulled away panting lightly and Hyrule had to bite his tongue to keep from whining. Your arms fell into his lap, letting him places his hands over yours in a quiet moment.
Your mouth opened slightly, a hand shooting up to cover the quiet yawn before they rubbed at your eyes. Hyrule cupped your face, thumb rubbing back and forth across your cheek.
“Tired?”
“A bit” You admitted, leaning into his touch that all but sent his heart on fire.
“I guess it's probably pretty late. I'm sorry I didn't mean to keep you up this long.”
“I don't mind, I really enjoyed spending time with you, Link.” You offered him a small smile as he helped you to your feet. His head screaming at the way his name so easily fell from your mouth.
“Just a sec,” He hurried over to the fire, lighting the small candle he had from early so he would still be able to see before putting it out. You folded up the blanket, draping it on the desks chair since you weren't sure where Hyrule had gotten it. You picked up his sword, handing it to him as he quickly threw it on his back. He grabbed your hand, letting the candle light guide his way out of the room. “Come on, let's get you to bed.”

The walk back to your room was quiet. The castle’s lights having likely been put out hours ago; leaving the candle and the sliver of moonlight peaking through the windows as your only aide to navigate through the hallways. Luckily Hyrule knew the way, otherwise you might have been left to wander around for another hour or so.
His hand kept a firm hold on yours the whole way. Interlocking his fingers with yours as he led you to the upper levels where the bed chambers were. Small squeezes or a rub of his thumb over the back of your hand made your heart flutter, wanting only to be closer to him. You timidly wrapped your arm around him, hugging it to you without letting go of his hand.
Hyrule squeezed your hand at the action, a small reassuring gesture to let you know it was okay.
He finally found the door to your room, opening it for you and waited as you reluctantly released his arm. Another soft squeeze before he leaned down to kiss your forehead.
“Goodnight,” He whispered, finally letting his hand fall away from yours. He turned, ready to make his way to his own room when you latched onto his wrist. His eyes immediately looked back to your pink cheeks, noticing the way you chewed nervously on your lips.
“Dawn gave me my own room ya know…It feels kinda odd sleeping alone after so long of traveling with you guys.” You hesitated, hand still locked around his wrist. “There's plenty of space if you, ya know, want to stay…?”
Breathe Link. You need to breathe.
He nodded, not trusting his voice to come out normally. He smiled at the way you lit up and stepped into your room, tugging him after you till he was through the threshold. Closing the door behind him with a soft,

Time: Forehead, smack in the middle to where sometimes it's basically right between your eyes. I think he'd also like the outer corner of your eyes.
Twilight: Top of your head. Probably because of his height, partially cause I think he likes the smell of whatever shampoo you use.
Four: Right on your temple. Each color obviously has their own preference but this is the one spot they all can agree on so it's what he sticks too!
Wild: If he can? Your shoulder. 100%. But if it's covered up he will go for lower down on your neck.
Hyrule: Apple of your cheek! The way your face squints whenever he does it is absolutely adorable in his opinion and is the sole reason he does it.
Warriors: Palm of your hand. Tell me I'm wrong/j. But he also just likes kissing the top of your knuckles too but he's very partial to the fleshy part of your palm.
Legend: The sweet spot just below your jawline, close to your ear. It feels a bit more hidden away, like he can hide his affection for you from the world as much as he hides how much he really does care. (You all know I'm biased don't come for me).
Sky: Corner of your mouth. If he's not kissing you properly you best believe he's still going to feel your lips against his one way or another. He's also very fond of nose kisses when he really is in more of a rush.

if I was the guide I would try to help link more then just help him with puzzles and where to go next. I would try helping with enemies and bosses by distracting them, help with stealth missions by making noise to distract guards, scavenge for things like rupees, bombs, arrows, food ect, for them, watch over link while he slept,help teach them how to play instruments cuz i doubt they would automatically know how to play, help keep them warm at night, let link vent and not bottle up his emotions,ya know cuz the poor boy deserves some help. Maybe guide reader help teach the links how to fight, cuz time, wind, and maybe legend, hyrule and how to sword fight cuz there's no way time and wind would know how to sword fight when their journeys first began, they were just kids, legend and four might have cuz legends uncle knew how to use a sword and fours grandfather is a blacksmith and in the four swords manga his father is captain of the hyrule knights, hyrule I don't honestly know if the fairies taught him how to fight with weapons, twilight was taught by rusl, sky, warriors and calamity were training/were already knights, wild would definitely have to be re taught how to fight again, and sage already remembered/ relearned how. I don't know how old first, korodai and courage were when they first learned,How would the chain react to that if they remembered? Sorry it's so long.😅
Sorry this one’s been sitting so long! This is going to be a bit of a ramble, but it’ll make sense! Took some liberties!!

Player/Guide!reader is the epitome of comfort to the boys. Much of their lives they have been taught through experience to trust no one —not even their own goddess— lest they get a dagger in the back. And at first they are cautious. A person with no ties to hyrule who is so eerily familiar with the heroes and utterly bewitching? They’re half convinced you are a trick, meant to play on their insecurities and trauma.
Time gathers his recollections first. He remembers your calm voice correcting his form and swings, your encouragement to keep improving— not with the intent of killing, but with only his safety at heart. He’d buried his blade within the thick trunk of a tree and heard your old whispers through his ears, and it all made sense. That even as his bones were cracked and reformed and the threads of time unraveled, you were consistent. Even when he wasn’t the same him that you loved before, you were back again. Protecting him, even if he didn’t need it. You were arms for him to return to and someone to hold and love.
Legend remembered almost on accident. He’d bolted up from the solid earth, rings snagging at his hair as his fingers tugged at the root. His chest rose and fell rapidly, like that of a frightened animal. You’d cautiously found your way in front of him, talking him down from the world within. Your hands massaged his palms easing the tension and removing his hair from his grip. You’d done this many times before, he realised. You were all he had for the months after leaving Koholint, your unconditional love despite his less than stellar attitude was something he felt guilty to forget. But perhaps now he’d be content to make up for it by letting you keep him there, curled up against your chest… even if he’d get some teasing.
Twilight didn’t actually remember on his own. In fact, he’s so stubborn and protective over the ‘pack’ that he likely wouldn’t have if it weren’t for Epona. For a large part, he trusted her judgment. Most animals did have a keener sense for natural disasters, but she always seemed to have a good sense of character. Sure, it was odd enough she ate right out of your hand with a happy nicker, but she just really liked apples. She’s a horse, she’s easily bribed. But even then, he’s not sure how much bribing it would take for her to lay down and let you braid flowers through her freshly brushed mane. It was trust. From all the other times you did it absentmindedly —occasionally even to him— it seems her trust in character was still sharp.
Warriors was actually slightly embarrassed by how he came to remember. Dripping wet from the rain and favourite cloak littered with mud and holes, he was rather cranky. He got showered and changed —thank the three they were at an inn— and decided to leave the stained and worn clothes as a tomorrow problem. That was until his prized blanket scarf found its way into to your mits. He tried to snatch it back, earning some odd looks and the shutter of the sheikah slate. You were frustratingly difficult to catch. It seemed that hadn’t changed. When he was ultimately successful, however, he realised that you’d actually been making an incredibly successful job at washing and repairing it as you’d done thousands of times before. He remembers you my firelight, cobalt swathed over your lap as your needle glided through the fabric. He remembered trying to imitate your stitches. He remembered how he never quite got it right.
He let you finish working.
Four was having a crisis. Do not let his indifference fool you, this man is a wreck. Best believe that beyond his surprisingly stubborn stoicism, the colors are shaking each other by the shoulders and screaming. Red recognised you immediately. His heart was quite literally moulded after your soft words and carefully love, he couldn’t forget you so long as he had a soul. Green being the mediator between them all and heard his quiet utters. The most honest a man could be that his adoration was infectious. It was you who taught him who he was. Blue took a while. So strong-willed in his stance, the he forgot you were the one to teach him to take a stand. He forgot it was you who willed him to fight for what he loved. Vio fell last, what would you expect of the mind. He hardly noticed it. The way his thoughts timed to you, the way he sought your presence and craved your voice. It was you who taught them how to be separate and yet loved them wholly. And such loyalty could only be payed back.
Wind remembered you in fragments. He remembers his parent by oath, who shielded him from the vast world he was so desperate to see. He didn’t understand it at first. But loosing you, especially when his memory wasn’t fully gone like the others, was rough. He mourned and grieved, even if he didn’t realise it. He missed being cared for. Without the looming question of what favor needed done or when it would go away. He missed you. It took a while to heal. For him to feel ok trusting in people again, even eventually curling up next to Wars when he’d try to sleep. He felt guilty, as if he were betraying you when you dug up dead feelings. But it’s hard to be a rebellious rascal when your partner in crime is finally returned to you especially after you were concerned you killed them. It takes him a while to process your back, but he’s back at your side, tugging you along by the hand as he explains his next devious prank.
Hyrule remembers you through his magic. The way your heart stutters as he heals you is familiar, a beat he’s fallen asleep to many times before and the life within it is one he can’t help but feel… connected to. He keeps a close eye out, his ears wiggling at the familiar music of your laugh and his skin unfamiliar without your own to cradle it. You share a spirit with them, a bit of your soul and theirs and a small both of theirs in you. And yet his mind can’t call out to why. It keeps him awake, taunting at him. But he knows his soul yearns for the part with yours. He knows the rush of your blood and song of your soul. He knows he loves you. Even if he doesn’t get why.
Wild takes so long to remember you for exactly the reasons you’d expect. His mind hides away the most crucial parts of itself in plain sight, never to be noticed or recognized until the memories are far too warped and rotten to actually remember anything. Anything of note, that is. But for what it’s worth, he never really perceived you as a threat. You were homey and comfortable, a trait so unfamiliar to his life of travel, he didn’t care if it left a sword in his stomach. Besides, not any yiga could take on an act that long. He took off the cooked eggs and set them onto a separate plate as you sat quietly, Wind strewn over your torso. You hummed softly the same work song he’d sung for years. One for which he didn’t know the origin, not until hearing you for what felt like the first time again. He couldn’t help but hum along.
Sky was cursed to forget you.
I must preface because he is a lover boy first and hero second. He wouldn’t care who Demise was, nor his business, so long as you were safe and loved. He loved you more than each and every star in the sky. And he’d already began to start planning your home. He knew he loved you. He knew he was made to love you. And that was exactly why he was made to forget you. That loyalty was scary to the gods. That one would devote themselves to another for little more than love in return— Hylia could not risk her heroes to stray. But try as she might she couldn’t surpress you. Not when you were already married, souls intertwined through every timeline. Your role varied, a healer, a helping hand, a comfort, a home, a parent, a lover, a souse. But you were always someone to Link. No matter what the gods declared. He remembered you only after all the others had, but he’s alright with that.

(TP!Link x Wealthy!Reader) Warnings: the tiniest mention of nudity and its mostly just implied
Castle Town was thriving. The usual hustle and bustles of shops and vendors rang through the streets, welcoming all who entered into its gates. It's cobblestone weaving through buildings long since established while others were recently refurbished for whatever new and exciting thing had grasped the citizens interest.
All were welcome into the ever expanding town. Where Gorons and Zora freely traversed and traded with Hylians both residential or simply passing by. So it was almost comical that the only one to be so roughly denied entry was the one who had saved it all.
Spears shot at him as he ran back to the gate. The soldiers shouted after him as they charged. Mother's snatched their young up into their arms as he ran past. Likely afraid of getting bitten or even just knocked over.
Link didn't blame them. It wasn't him they were chasing away after all. Even as Hyrule's hero he wasn't well known in town. Mostly only recognizable to those who frequented Telma’s place. But not even they would realize who they were chasing. To everyone around him he was simply a large wolf that had wandered into town. Of course they would chase him off, he would have too in their situation. That understanding didn't lessen the pain he felt as sharp metal nicked his shoulder.
He whined in pain, darting through the south gates into Hyrule Field. The small band of knights cheered as he ran, content to stay near the gate instead of attempting to finish him off.
He knew trying to go into town the way he was had been a poor judgement call. The sun had still been low in the sky. The early morning light chasing away the shadows of night. And try as he might to stick to those shadows, there simply hadn't been enough to conceal him from watchful eyes. Which led to guards quickly being notified, and to Link's displeasure and shock, decided to actually rid the town of him.
He slowed to a crawl-like speed. The chain around his foot dragged against the stone steps. He just needed to get far enough to change back. As a Hylian he'd be able to freely roam the town without fear of being chased down. He could find the shop and get the red potion he so desperately needed.
Assuming he even had enough rupees for it. 
Or that he would even make it that far without collapsing.
Link was exhausted. An ambush of monsters earlier had taken everything out of him, including his ability to walk normally. Having likely fractured an ankle, he had to finish off the fight as a wolf. Letting the weight of his broken foot be distributed to 3 others than try and remain upright on one. He had then dragged himself all the way to Castle Town that way in hopes of getting a potion he had unfortunately found out he was out of.
He reached the bottom of the steps. The large fountain to his right and the grassy fields of Hyrule before him. The peaceful meadow and calming sound of rushing water was a far cry from the turmoil his body felt. Stomach empty after having not eaten for Hylia knows how long, exhaustion creeping into his bones that only bore more weight from the pain of his leg. 
Maybe he should just call it quits and sleep out here. The grass looked soft enough and maybe then he could snag the potion and some food later in the day.
He scanned the surroundings, looking for a spot hidden away where he could either change back or rest. His mind still heavily debating between the two. The rather open concept of the area limited his options significantly as he searched and quickly realized he wasn't even alone.
Just ahead, sat at the edge of the fountain was a young lady. Her hair done up in a flawless curl that fell over her shoulder. Her clothing screamed of wealth, dressed in one of the finer styles Link had seen around town. Its long, flowy material hugged her body perfectly while its color complimented each detail of her delicate face.
Link's heart quickened. A deep warmness spread over him as he took in the way she moved. Soft, careful and elegant.
The girl was stunning. And more importantly,
She was you.
He lifts his head, releasing a song-like howl into the air, rushing over to where you sat. Your head now frantically searching in his direction. He approaches with confidence, sitting right in front of you as a large grin spreads across your face. 
You were on him in seconds. Grabbing at his face to shower him with affection.
“Link! Oh you're alright!” You squished his face between your hands. Alternating between scratching at his ears and running your fingers through tangled fur. Your lips peppering kisses around his nose. 
His tail swooshes back and forth rapidly, raising his head high as you showered him with praise.
You paused, moving your hands lower to see the blood on his shoulder. Your face slowly turning to a scowl with hands on your hips in a weak attempt at scolding him.
“You're hurt aren't you?” 
Hearing your less than pleased tone of voice he laid down, looking up at you with innocent eyes. It was a move he always played when you were upset with him. Knowing that it worked 9/10 times and this time was no different. 
You sank down to your knees, holding his face once more with a tender gentleness Twilight yearned for every time he had to leave your side. 
“What happened? Do you need anything? A potion? I think I have some at home! Otherwise I'll buy the whole stock if you need-”
Link pulled at the shard's magic, letting himself return to his Hylian self to better ease your concerns. He knelt before you, putting a hand over yours that still held his face.
“I'm fine Darlin, it wasn't anything I couldn't handle.”
It wasn't a lie per say. He was fine in a way now that he was with you. And he did and was handling it. Even as he winced in pain as the full force of his injury returned to his ankle, making him move to sit on the ground rather than on his knees. Or how the new gash on his shoulder began bleeding through his shirt.
You immediately noticed his discomfort, eyebrows only furrowing further in worry. 
“You clearly are not!” You scolded him, gesturing to not only the fresh blood on his shoulder, but the other dried patches of blood and dirt and whatever else coated his clothes. The small rips and tears from battles, and of course the rather obvious way he was sitting as to not bump his ankle. 
Link wasn’t a slob by any means. Even during his travels he prided himself on keeping his things and himself relatively clean. But sitting there, next to your smooth clothes and flawless skin, Link had to admit he was downright filthy. He hunched his shoulders in embarrassment as you stood, brushing off the few flecks of dirt from your skirt that likely had gotten there because of him. 
“Come on, let's get you home and we will get it all cleaned up.” You took his hands, carefully helping him to his feet. He hissed, trying to put pressure on his bad foot so he wouldn’t crush you with his weight. You merely ducked under his arm, wrapping around his waist for support.
“I’ll make a mess of ya, let me-”
“Nonsense! Clothes can be washed and replaced my dear.” You leaned up and kissed his cheek. “You however can not be.”
Link smiled, kissing the top of your head as you helped him back to your place. The walk taking longer than normal due to the slow pace and uneven ground that made him stumble. Biting back the pain shooting up his leg with every jolt and misstep. 
It was late morning by the time you reached your place, a soft glow welcoming more and more townsfolk into the streets. Yours was one of the nicer homes nestled just east of the castle itself. The swirled metal fence protecting the lush green yard that led all the way to the small porch.
It was a place Link had been spending more and more time at. Giving every and any excuse to come and visit you whenever he could. It wasn't quite home and it still felt almost like a whole new world here compared to the humble village of Ordon. But it's where you were which is exactly where he wanted to be.
You helped him inside, helping remove his gear as a short woman scurried towards you.
“Thank you Lyla, could you see to it that these are cleaned and repaired?” You asked, handing her his sword and shield before she disappeared just as quickly.
“Alright,  the larger bathroom is upstairs which will probably be preferable.” You mused. “Will that be alright?”
Link knew what you were really asking, rolling his eyes playfully. “Darlin, do you remember how I met ya?” He asked, grabbing onto the stairs railing.
“How could I ever forget?” You laughed lightly, hovering over him as he started up the stairs. “You saved my carriage from that awful large bird!”
“Sure did, and I'm pretty sure if I can face that, I can face a few stairs.” He laughed at the small pout you made. Giving him a little more space to get up the stairs. Your hands were right back on him when he reached the top, guiding him down the hallway until you reached for one of the doors.
The door opened to reveal a large bathroom. The marble tile floor and white walls lined with shelves upon shelves of bottles that Link could only guess what they could be. Each one uniquely shaped and sized with dazzling colors that swirled around inside their glass containers.
You led him inside before gliding over to the white tub. Turning its golden faucets as water poured into the tub, wisps of steam floating up to the ceiling. You grabbed one of the bottles, uncorking it and pouring a dash of its purple contents into the water that formed small bubbles on its surface.
You pulled out the stool of the neatly organized vanity to the left of the room, placing it directly next to the tub. Patting its velvety cushion as an invitation for him to sit. HJe complies, sitting down with a small groan as his muscles ache to accommodate the sudden change in position.
He slipped off his boots and socks before your hands found his chest. 
“Can you lift your arm?” Gesturing to his injured shoulder. He does with minimal pain as you slip his tunic off, chainmail and undershirt quickly adding to the growing pile of filth now littering the floor.
The gash on his shoulder wasn't nearly as bad as he initially thought. With the bleeding already having stopped and the pain more of a sting than anything else it blended into the other scraps he wore. 
You kissed his nose, “You hop in alright?”
He nods, waiting until you've left the room to remove the rest of his clothing and carefully lower himself into the tub.
He would never admit the straight moan that left his lips as he sunk down into the water. It's warmth seeping straight to his bones that relaxed every ache and tug at his muscles. The mystery soap left a tingle on his skin that poked at any scrape and bruised till they were only a memory.
He would definitely be asking to borrow this one in the future.
The door creaked open and Link quickly covered himself underneath the water as you walked in. Holding a small basket and the fluffiest pink towel he had ever seen.
“Apologies for the color, I unfortunately wasn't prepared to have company at the moment.”
You strolled forward, placing your small pile on the floor by the tub. You held out a bottle that Link recognized as a red potion. He took it from you, careful not to disturb the water too much as he drank all of it. It's magic flowing straight to his broken ankle, setting and then mending the bone in a numbed discomfort.
Link mumbled a quick thank you as you took the bottle from him. Returning it to the small basket as you sat down on the stool by the head of the tub.
He pulled his knees up, not trusting the layer of soap to keep himself covered.
Link couldn't recall a time he had felt so…exposed, before. Maybe once when Shad and Rusl had helped him after a bad fight but certainly not in front of you! Not yet
“You're…staying? In here?” 
“Is that alright?” You asked sweetly. Rolling up the sleeves of your dress. You grabbed a cloth, dipping it into the water before gently running it over his shoulders.
“I know how to take a bath darlin”
You chuckled, letting some of the water fall into his hair. “Well I would hope so dear. But I can see how tired you are,” you grabbed another container from your basket, scooping out some of its contents to rub between your hands. “So you just relax okay? Let me handle this.” 
Your hands ran softly through his hair. Fingers rubbing at his scalp in a heavenly pattern as you hummed a song Link hadn't heard before. He let his eyes close, leaning back on the tub as you continued to work whatever concoction through his hair. 
It smelled like wildflowers and honey. Exactly the way you smelled and he thought for a moment if this is what you would use when bathing before quickly making sure he was still covered beneath the water's soapy surface.
You lifted his head, rinsing out his hair a few times till you were satisfied the stuff was all gone. Your hands found his shoulders, gently kneading at the muscles until Link was practically moaning at your touch. It stayed like that for a while, occasionally rubbing a new soap or cream across his shoulders, chest or back. The heat from the water beginning to fog the room like a sauna.
A small tap to his cheek, “Alright dear, I will leave the rest to you.”
You stand, putting the pink towel and anything else he might still need on top of the stool where he could reach.
“The towel is there, and there's a fresh set of clothes awaiting you in the room to the right. Don't fret about these ones, I'll have Lyla collect them once you're done and make sure they get washed.”
You lean down, giving his cheek a quick kiss before exiting the room.
He takes a deep breath, letting himself enjoy it all for just another moment before washing the rest of his body. Getting out once the water had cooled significantly, trying not to splash water unnecessarily as he wraps the towel around him.
Even with the rather unbecoming color, it was the softest, fluffiest damn towel he’d ever used.
Keeping a firm grip to the towel around his waist, he peeks out into the hallway, making sure it's clear before dashing into the next room. Just as promised, a stack of plain clothes were laid out for him on the bed, near perfect to his size as he slips them on.
He attempts to dry his hair before making his way back down towards the stairs to where he hopes you are.
The stairs are much easier to get down with his injuries healed. Letting himself skip the last two steps as he spun to head towards the living area. Just as he suspected, you were sat on the couch, feet tucked up beside you. You had changed into a different dress, this one detailed in a floral pattern and fitted to the curve of your body.
He snuck up behind you, tossing his arms around you in a tight hug. Your laughter ringing in his ears.
“Feeling better?”
“Much” He lets go long enough to plop down next to you. “Thanks to you of course.” He cups your face, bringing it to his in a long, drawn out kiss. He deepens it as you hum against him, swiping his tongue across your bottom lip teasingly before pulling away. He smirks at the way your cheeks flush the same shade of pink as your lips. 
He flops down, resting his head on your lap. The exhaustion sets back in, begging at his mind for rest. Fingers run through his hair, only encouraging the pull of sleep. Words are said but he can no longer make them out, smiling to himself as he finally gives into an easy unconsciousness.

It wasn’t until later in the day that he woke up. The mid afternoon sun beating at his face through the tall windows while the smell of food invaded his nose. He turns onto his side, his face burrowing into the fabric of your dress as he wraps his arms loosely around your waist.
“Well good morning love”
Your soft voice calls to him. He opens his eyes, looking up to you smiling down at him. 
“There is food awaiting you in the kitchen whenever you are hungry,” You explain, brushing hair out of his face. “I do need to head into town, would you care to join me?”
He nods lazily, holding you close to him until  his stomach rumbles loudly in empty protest. You laugh, leaning over to kiss his temple. 
“Alright, We’ll leave once you've had a bite to eat. Then we can get you all stocked up while we're out.”
It was only 30 minutes later until they were strolling down the busy streets. With Link now healed, rested and fed, the streets felt much more welcoming than the hostile experience of this morning. The streets were now packed, voices shouting out to hassle and bargain down prices. He kept a hand on the small of your back, holding the few things you had already bought in the other.
Despite his insistence, you had bought him everything he needed and then some. Multiple bottles of healing potions, some arrows and even his own bottle of that purple soap from this morning.
You were currently browsing through a stall of books. Briefly explaining plots of ones that you had read previously while searching over new titles. He smiled at the way your eyes widened in excitement as you skimmed through the new book in your hands, using the small moment of opportunity to hand over a few rupees to the vendor.
“Oh Link, you didn't have to do that!”
He hugged your shoulders, pulling you to his side. “It's alright sweet`art. It's worth it to keep that smile on ya face.” You blushed as he slipped the book from your hands, adding it to the bag.
You continued on your way, hoping to get a special treat for Epona who was being watched over back in Kakariko. You leaned into Link, enjoying the rare quality time spent together for the rest of the afternoon. 
A detour through the center of town led you two to linger around the fountain. The street lamps being lit around you as the crowds began to disperse. He takes your hand, his rough thumb brushing over the softness of your knuckles with a deep sigh.
“I’ll uh, gotta get goin in the morning. Promised Fado I’d help out this week.”
“Oh..”
Link knew that tone. He knew you were disappointed and honestly, so was he. He wanted to be by your side more. To see your smiling face, to be there when you needed him. To be the hero he had been for Hyrule, to you. But Ordon was his home and he still struggled to imagine fully leaving it all behind. It was who he was at his core, a simple rancher. And you deserved more than that. You deserved the life of luxury that you had here. To be within the walls that he tirelessly worked to make sure were kept safe. 
“Link?” He cupped your face, lifting it up so he could look directly into your eyes.
“What…what if I came with you?”
“Come…to Ordon?”
You nodded and Link's heart stuttered in both panic and excitement. You wanted to visit Ordon with him? To see his home, meet everyone he considered family? It was something he had dreamed of since the first time he had kissed you. 
What if you didn't like it though? What if it only solidified how different your worlds were?
“I don't have to of course,” You tried to reassure him. Likely having caught onto his slight panic. “I just…I miss you when you're gone. And I know how important your village is to you. It'd be an honor to see it for myself.”
Link's heart nearly lept out of his chest. “Are ya sure?”
When you nodded Link couldn't hold back the smile spreading across his face. He grabbed your face, crushing his lips onto yours. He pushed away the panic, the fears and insecurities. You were coming with him. You wanted to come home with him and he couldn't imagine a more perfect idea.

I'll admit, this is the first time I've ever written Four! I've only played Minish Cap so I tried to focus more on that but he was a lot of fun!
A Little bit of Luck
(Four x Reader) Warnings: None <3
“Hey Smithy!” Four looked up from where he was polishing his shield. You jogged up to him, sitting down so closely that your shoulder pressed against his. Your cheerful voice pulled him in like a spell. Enticing him to lean against you. Casually of course.
“Got a question for ya!” 
“Yes, no and no.” 
“I haven't even asked yet!” You whined. Four just chuckled, nudging you with his elbow as he kept working.
“Yes I've made armor before. No I don't have the tools for it, so NO I'm not making Wind a suit of armor. No matter how ‘cool’ it would look.”
You held up your index finger. “First of all, I will never understand how you do that.”
Four rolled his eyes lightheartedly, having yet again predicted exactly what you were gonna ask him. He didn't quite understand it either. You had only known each other for a little while but it might as well have been a lifetime. The way he could just look at you and know exactly what you might be thinking. Predicting your moves effortlessly as though he had studied them for years. In return, it was as if you could read him like a book. Always one step ahead of him. Ready with whatever it was he needed when working or watching his back in battle. 
“Secondly,” you added another finger. “It would be extremely cool.”
“It'd be a pain is what it would be” he corrected. “I'd like to just stick to weapons, thank you very much.”
“Fiiiiiiiine. Now can I actually ask the question I came over here for or not?”
Four put down the shield, giving you his full attention. “I'm not making you one either”
“Seriously?” You hit his arm playfully. He laughed at the downright adorable way your face pouted. 
“Okay, okay I'm sorry” he raised his hands in defense, still chuckling. “What's your question?”
You stuck your tongue out at him before pointing to his belt. “I noticed these things on your belt. What are they?”
“My kinstones?” He held up the small chain hanging on his hip. The small, broken halves of incomplete kinstones dangled from the thin chain, clinking together. He placed it into your outstretched palm, letting you take a closer look.
“Kinstones…” you repeated curiously. “They look broken. Did something happen?” Picking at them carefully.
“They all start off like that” he pulled out the small bag he stored the rest of his collection in. “Everyone in my era has some and are always trading them around.” He explained, picking out a few more from his bag.
“See, every piece has a matching half” he explained, placing a blue one into your hand. “If you can find the other half you can combine them together. We call it fusing.” You hung onto every word he said. His heart fluttering at the way you pressed against him to get a closer look. Holding the small pieces between your fingers up to the light.
“Do they do anything?”
“Rumor is,” Whispering in your ear like a child telling a secret. “If you can find a match, something good will happen to you.” Your eyes lit up.
“Really? Like what?
Four shrugged. “Hard to say for sure. I think it depends on the holder. Someone from my village told stories of finding hidden treasures after fusing some together.”
“Wow…” you said breathlessly, admiring all the small pieces in your hand. Part of him wished you would look at him that way. A part of him that the others quickly called a sap and tried to get to shut up before he did anything dumb. 
“You have so many! You must get pretty lucky with all of those.”
He looked at you gently. The red in his eyes scanning the soft features of your face. If only you realized just how lucky he really was.
“(Y/N)!” Warriors called out. “Collector wants a word with you. Something about missing one of his rings.”
“Like he needs help looking for it or is he accusing me of taking it?” You asked but Wars just shrugged.
“Let's hope for your sake it's the former.”
You groaned, taking a last look at the tiny stones on your palm. You grabbed one of his hands, carefully handing them back with a smile. “Wish I had my own right now. Knowing how prickly he is about his stuff the Vets probably losing his mind.”
Four chuckled, keeping his hand perfectly still in yours until you pulled away. You stood up, dusting off your trousers. Your fingers brushed his shoulder, guiding his attention up to you. “Tell me if you find a match, okay? I'd love to see it.” He nodded, watching as you walked off. Your fingers lingering on his shoulder for as long as possible. 
Four trembled ever so slightly. 
“You okay there Four? You aren't cold are you?” Wars asked. A shit eating grin on his face.
Four glared at him. Stuffing the stones back into their pouch, and hooking the chain onto his belt.

You regrettably woke up. Your body felt sore from the tumble you took downhill yesterday when stepping through the sudden portal. You were already planning out your revenge on the cook, who had been the reason for your little mishap, as you sat up. 
The usual sounds of the others getting ready filled the space of camp. Most of the others are already up except for Sky and Wind. The smell of breakfast hit your nose, making your rather empty stomach grumble in response. Your body stung in protest when you attempted to get up. The bruises you no doubt now had begging for you to simply lay back down.
You ran a hand through your hair. Flinching at the multiple knots your fingers caught on. The thought of brushing it out made you groan. Maybe you could convince Wars to do it for you. He still owed you from taking his shift the other night.
“Good morning,” Four appeared in front of you. His hair lacked its usual headband along with the multicolored tunic which meant he had likely just woken up as well. He held out a small plate of food which you gratefully took. “Thought you might want some breakfast.”
“You truly are the best, did you know that?”
“I’ve been told as such before” he teased, taking a seat on your bedroll. “Sleep alright?”
You nodded, taking a few bites of food. “Mhmm. Bit sore but nothing serious.”
“That's good. We're a bit of a ways from Castle Town so not gonna lie, probably gonna be a long day.”
That’s right, this was his era. The portal you all had walked through yesterday had led to a place Four referred to as the Wind Ruins. Which, based on the amount of crumbled stone pillars felt rather fitting. 
You both chatted as you finished the food. Putting down the plate to lean back on your hands. You flinched as something dug into your thumb. Pulling it up, you noticed a small red stone had lodged itself into your skin. You recognized it as the little stones Four had shown you a while ago.
“Look!” You shuffled closer. Excitedly showing off your newest find by shoving your hand in his face. “I found one of those stone things you told me about!” Four lowered your hand. Examining it thoughtfully before plucking the stone from your skin. He rolled it over a few times before passing it to you.
“Yup, that's a kinstone. They're everywhere if you know where to look.”
“Maybe you have the other half! Can we check!?”
Who was he to deny such a simple request? The way your eyes had lit up at the possibility, had him rushing back towards his gear. Snatching up the bag to bring back over to you. You practically flung yourself on his back. Resting your chin on his shoulder as you watched him sort and try different pieces. He pulled out another one, touching it to the one you had given him. They melded together with a small chime.
“It worked!” You cheered, hugging Four in your excitement. Four chuckled, reciprocating by patting your forearm that had his biceps trapped to his sides.
“Guess we should expect some good luck coming our way.” He winked, holding it up for you to take once more.
Your smile brightened even further as you planted your lips against his cheek.
“I'm gonna go show Hyrule!” You jumped up, shouting out to the Traveler who was talking with Legend across camp. 
That, he hadn’t been expecting.
Four sat there on your bedroll. His eyes swirling in a rainbow of colors as he processed what had just happened. Was he still dreaming? Surely that hadn’t just happened right? The logical part of him assured him that it did in fact happen. Making his mind even more chaotic than it had been a moment ago. 
He shook his head, failing to collect himself. 
“Smithy! We're leaving in a little bit, you ready?”
“Uhh yeah…yeah just a sec.” He shot up, putting away the bag of kinstones with a sly grin.
“Lucky indeed” He mumbled.

Whistling wind blows past your shoulders, the autumn air crisp as the evening drags on. You found yourself nursing a cup half drunken on a lonesome balcony --you were surprised to find that the Inn had a few of these cute hideaways for some of the rooms, and you were lucky enough to have one in yours-- observing the cobblestone streets below. Amber leaves dance across the stone, jumping and skipping with the wind as their dance partner, the faint glimpses of people tightly wrapped up in shawls and coats alike shivering as the wind wraps them in a blanket of their own.
It was...a calming evening. Something rare these days, but you couldn't find it in yourself to care.
The boys had been driving you up the wall. Truly, the last few weeks were unbelievable. Everything that could have gone wrong, did. And if it didn't then it was like those lunatics were determined to make sure it did-- hells, Time had to separate you from Wild after a...mild disagreement about the use of moblin parts on weapons. You knew they weren't malicious, you knew they were as stressed and as frantic as you to find a solution to their growing list of problems but it didn't make it any less frustrating. And you weren't exactly the best at hiding that growing frustration, which is why you haven't heard a peep from any of the boys since arriving at your -single- room.
Swirling the mug, eyeing the sloshing beverage inside, you wonder what to do with the rest of your evening. Hunkering down and becoming a hermit wasn't a bad thought, but you were growing restless on the tight balcony.
You honestly wondered, for a brief moment, if you should head out and try and find--
A heavy knock at your door startles you, a call of your name following soon after. "Are you in?"

Well it seems he found you instead. Pushing off the wooden railings, you shuffle into your untouched room, gently settling the mug on the beside before continuing to the solid door before your.
"Yeah yeah," Opening the door as you answered, tired eyes meeting tender ones. "Hey old man, was just thinking bout you actually, need something?"
You cant help the smirk on your lips as the broad man tilts his head ever so slightly, eyes narrowing in on you, if you were bolder you would have compared him to Wolfie but for now you kept your mouth shut.
"It seemed fitting to check on you, I know these last few weeks have been less than kind to us all. And you especially." He began, a smile pulling at his lips. "May I exist with you?"
A snort escaped you, but you stepped aside without a fuss.
"Exist with me? Have you've been reading Sky's romance novels again?" You teasingly accused.
All you get is a lazy shrug from the man as he walks past, hands clasped behind his back as his eyes scanned the room. Cheeky bastard. Shaking your head as you close the door behind him, it didnt take long for the man to find his tiny waisted ass to the balcony and it took you even less to find your space next to him.
In truth, you've never seen the man read...anything. Sure, he was well spoken and prim when needed but you've known plenty of pompous pricks who were as shit at read as a blind rat. But still, the phrases the man used were something straight out of fiction. The idea of Time reading romance novels was quite an amusing thought though.
"Glad to see a smile back on that face," Time muses, eyes-- well eye-- watching the chattering children below. "An important member to the team, it is."
Leaning against the railing, you roll your eyes. "Yeah, sure." You scoff, blaming the cold winds for your tinted cheeks.
Time turns his captivating eye to you, ducking closer as he leans against the railing beside you, a deft hand fixing the collar of your shirt. "It is."
You expect him to continue, watching for the bob in his throat or parting of his lips to speak once more, to explain, yet he doesnt. No, he simple fixes your collar -fingers lingering on the peak of your collarbone for a moment- the rough fingertips a stark contrast to the gentle touch, and turns his gaze to the people below once more. Blinking up at the man, you held back a scoff, shaking your head at the sheer audacity the man had to be so...Him.
It was infuriating how two simple words had you lost of words- not by the words themselves but by the tone.
Here you were, somehow reassured by two words and the voice of a man as confident as the day he set off on his first adventure. It was as if he had answered the most simple of questions with the most sound of logic.
"You're unbelievable." A grumble.
Tilting his head to you, eyes still focused on the street below, mirth in his tone. "Shush, I'm watching a very determined goose try and steal a child's sandwich."
Unbelievable indeed.

Holiday Special: Links x Reader - New Year's Kiss HC
Where I live, it's a tradition to kiss your partner on New Year's Eve. Let's celebrate with some Links (+Ravio)! Warning: pure, tooth-rotting fluff below the cut. Consult a dentist before proceeding
Sky
An absolute blushing mess leading up to it, but he manages to hype himself up. He’s the Hero of the Skies. He fought a demon and won. He can handle a kiss… right?
Gives you a firm kiss with his lips pressed together, kind of like a cartoon character
He’s a bit off-center and pulls away right after
Give you a nervous smile and a cute little half laugh
In his head, he’s kicking himself for doing that. In his opinion, that was probably the worst kiss he could have given you to start off the new year.
Until you pull him back in for a proper kiss
Boy just melts and lets you do your thing
Four
He literally cannot reach unless you bend down, but asking you to do that seems wrong to him
He tries to sneakily get you to sit down next to him so height isnt an issue
His kisses are surprisingly soft, especially compared to his calloused hands that cup your cheeks
He’s really hesitant to pull away
If he splits, though, my Hylia have mercy on you
All four of them try to kiss you at the same time.
Key word: try.
They end up headbutting each other and you. Ice packs are gotten. Apologies are said.

He is lowkey not having a great time trying to stay up
He’s old. He’s tired. His knees hurt. Let him go to bed :(
At this point, the only thing keeping him from face planting into the mattress is the fact that he gets to kiss you at midnight.
The moment the clock strikes 12, he pulls you in by your hips and kisses you
It’s the kind of kiss people who have been married for years share. Neither of you pull away for a very long time.
He always tries to get closer to you when ya’ll kiss, and tonight is no exception. Ya’ll are literally hugging but he tries to hold you tighter and kiss you deeper.

It’s not a custom in his Hyrule, but hearing you talk about it makes him scoff
Why does he need to wait until midnight to kiss you? How is that different from any other time? He could kiss you right now!
Is huffing in annoyance watching the clock count down to the new year.
Then you bend down and capture his lips in your own as it hits midnight
“There! Now the first thing we did this year is kiss!” You smile happily at him

His Hyrule also doesn’t have New Years, but he’s very interested to learn about this custom
It sounds so romantic! He can’t think of a better way to kick off the new year
He’d be a blushing mess even before the countdown gets close
You want the very first thing you do next year… to kiss him
If it wasn’t obvious enough already, boy is smitten
When you kiss him, you swear his pupils turn into hearts
Will pull you back in for another one
Twilight
He pulls you in by your hips, places a hand on the small of your back, and kisses you for as long as you’ll allow.
He actually started a bit early. That way, the last and first thing he did that year was kiss you
When you finally pull away, his gaze is so soft
He holds you for a bit longer after that, just glad you’re here, with him.
If you’re with the chain, someone will yell at you two to get a room
Alternatively: Turns into Wolfie at the last second and licks half of your face
Super tender or absolute menace. There is no in-between.
Warriors
He’s a little shit about it
He’ll kiss you every hour, on the hour, because “It’s the New Year in a different timezone”
Even after it hits midnight, he’ll keep on going for as long as you two stay up
And he doesn’t even have the decency to give you proper kisses. Just quick pecks on the corner of your mouth.
He knows it flusters you, which only adds more fuel to the fire.
If you want to shut him up, just grab him by his scarf and pull him in for a bit harsher kiss. Leave him gasping for breath, then walk away.
He will go BEET RED and stop his antics… for a while
Wild
Forgot it was a custom. Like, full on forgot he was supposed to kiss you when midnight hit.
Someone else reminds him of it after the fact and he instantly feels like the worst partner in the history of the entire world.
Sprints to where you’re standing and just tackles you into a kiss
You, who was a bit bummed out and not expecting this, fall to the ground with him on top of you
He apologises profusely, first for knocking you over, then for forgetting to kiss you
Ofc you forgive him
He keeps kissing you the rest of the night and even the next day to make up for it
Wind (Aged Up)
He’s got his arm slung around your shoulder, drink in hand, watching the clock count down
Gets super into the 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 chant
As soon as he’s done screaming “HAPPY NEW YEAR!” at the top of his lungs, he plants a fat, wet kiss on your cheek
You push him away and wipe the honestly disgusting amount of saliva off your face while laughing
He laughs at your reaction, but it’s short-lived, as you also give him a big smooch on the cheek
Now it’s his turn to wipe off his face

Bonus!
Ravio
Lorule hasn’t had holidays in a while, and even if they did, they don’t have this particular New Years tradition
So he is caught completely off guard when you pull him in for a kiss at midnight
A stuttering, blushing mess
Once you explain what the custom is, he blushes even harder
Pulls his hood down over his face to hide from the world. The notion that he is loved this much is still so foreign to him. What do you mean the first thing you wanted to do this year is kiss him?
You just kiss his hood’s bunny face as well
Please, have mercy on his soul. He’s not strong enough to endure this

When the countdown begins, he closes his eyes and puckers his lips, stretching his neck out in your direction
His hands are folded near his cheek, and one leg is off the floor, toes pointed
It’s honestly a miracle he doesn’t fall over, especially considering he took the pose pretty early in the countdown
You give him a peck on the lips, then pull away
